For what it's worth, I don't think you'll change your collective mind on this one Cryptic. It's just a thought.
When I get to VA, I can't respec my char any way but through a free respec from Veteran Awards or the C-Store. That's cool. I understand that and agree for the most part.
What I want to help you with, is that I will never pay for a C-Store Respec at its current price. I don't know what the numbers are for sales of respecs, but it just seems like 400 is steep. For a one time, per characters deal, that is steep. It's your call Cryptic, I'm not buying it like this.
This isn't a rage thread or anything, but just a suggestion.
I'd like to expand upon this to make my point a little more concise.
For starters, a retrain token isn't nearly as sustaining as some of the other services. There's an option to rename your captain, to add two BO slots, to add ship slots, to add char slots, to add costume slots, and the rename one is even cheaper than the retrain while the others are all about the same price. The difference: the others offer a greater long term value while the retrain token is good for about 100 days and then there's another veteran award respec. It's also less of a value, because you only get one, and for most of the game, you don't need it, because you automatically get one per level or you can buy it with merits. Another point is that there are plenty of long term items that cost less like costumes that have a much greater effect in game.
Okay, so that's the information, that's what we can say for sure. There is a saying that your first loss is your best loss. Maybe you guys are saling retrain tokens like hot cakes, but I doubt it. When you can get the in game and through vet rewards so easily, and when you guys over-charge for them. Think about the effect that has on perception of the game's publisher. It just adds to the greed aspect of everything.
My suggestion: cut the price 100-200 tokens. Look, I'm up for a veteran award in 50 days, so it's okay on my end. It's really something on your end that you could do to fix this error, gain more of a steady flow from this item and improve public perception of C-Store pricing policies.

So no real need to pay for a respec in the C-Store.
