The admins have stated a number of times that this version will catch up sooner rather than later. I'd go by what they say rather than your generalized view of mmos.

I was running PW-MY on my laptop with Vista. It works perfectly, except for the MY lag. ^_^ You'll be fine even with the laptop as long as it's not ancient. :D

North American IPs haven't been banned from those servers, so it's highly improbable for the company to ban them from playing on this server. BTW: The thread was about gaining facts, not opinions.
