I don't seem to have that option when I right-click on the shortcut and even changing things within the different graphics properties doesn't fix the problem. After nothing would work for me, I thought I'd try restarting my laptop. It's working fine again now!

I wouldn't have a clue how to check what video device it's using xD I will certainly try running the DX9 installer though

Thanks for such a fast response. I never run any antivirus software (or anything like it) so I knew that wasn't an issue. How would I go about producing the Dxdiag output for you (I've never had to do it before)?

How is it a manual patch if it's from opening the patcher and not using the manual patch link? You open the patcher, it downloads. If not, change the patch server like I had to.

It's not a manual patch that he is using. I have the patch too. We never use manual in case something like this happens.
