I think the only reason why it restarts on Wednesday currently is because maintenance takes place on Tuesday night and into Wednesday, which is how they restart most things, like world bosses spawn times.

Ah, I see...so how did you guys decide who gets to keep it? By bidding? Next thing you know, PWE will be putting those things in packs just like the crystals for the PQ3 rings, or Jungle stones. But, I do hope that the new dq reward items will contain them :D (for a brief amount of time)
