  • To OP, Trueform increases your HP and your speed, and if you have leveled shpaeshifting intensify, it will also increase your pdef. So you get more HP and take less damage. A tradeoff is that you will have reduced by as uch as 50%wep once you level trueform to 3 (which wil be like overall reduction of about 20-30%) of…
  • Yes, levelling is waaaaay too fast nowadays so you'll outgrow anything that u refine rather quickly. Id only start refining at 90 and then too to a +5 at the max. svae for the 99 and later gears. Really after lvl70 theres not much that u need to rely on 3 stars for (maybe jewelry at the most). Theres TT gear and molds…
  • I very highly doubt this to be true. I have often missed mobs even when devoured (have capped at 60dex atm). And yes I always shard ambers into weapons, coz all the attack in the world dont mean squat if u miss. Ambers should only be put in the weapon. Ambers in gear (I read that as armors included) is not recommended…
  • Id say this, if u rich and dont mind spending abit of dough: go for rank gear. If you poor like me; Tanking was a bigger priority for me than killing so I ditched the calamitys at 80 and got lion kings...more dex = better acc + recovers 5% HP every 5 or so hits. (this was b4 fleshream became a no miss skill btw). If u rich…
  • I know, I know .......necro..... But I just came back to forums and saw this thread and had to post something in it.... I miss the PWI of old too. The only way I see it being brought back is: 1. Make BP a self buff.....Will make sins the new venos (soloists who pretty much solo everything) while forcing BMs, archers barbs…
  • Right there with you! After all they were the class meant to wear them (with the skills to use with them). Yeah, kinda sux when you spent all tht effort dieing (in case of the wizzies) or going brain dead from all the hammering / KSing / miss miss missing (in the case of us barbs) Amen brother! Maybe they finally decided…
  • Well you might just find a few people willing to tag along here: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=760842 Take a peek! b:chuckle b:victory
  • Right there with you. Its just the fuzziness. b:victory Soooo Sad yet sooo true. I rerolled a barb alt and will make him a demon. I mean whats the point goin demon after 100? I wanna experience the demon barb's might 89+! b:chuckle BTW, whats your opinion on a sage barb using fists? Yea he will probably never get to 5APS,…
  • Roar does reset aggro. Fleshream does not. Tested and proven many times over by yours truly and many others. Devour (or penetrate armour) only adds aggro if boss is attacking you when you debuff him, otherwise the reduced pdef will only make it harder for the barb to regain aggro sine the -int DDs will do more damage. I…
  • Hehe, I've got a better one..... Did you know that ToP +HP bonus is a % calculated from your unbuffed humanoid HP? And nope it doesnt stack with +%HP gear either. Its also why I swapped my sky demon's for a lvl92 necklace with awesome +Hp addons. I think the idea is that with +%HP you get overall more HP in humanoid form,…
  • Yep, thats about it I'll guess..... *Bows before Sol's infinite wisdom of the inconspicuous and unperceived.* b:laugh
  • Quests got me through to the 40s. Then onwards it was longer and longer %s of grinding to level. I was 85 when BH was introduced and I still dont often do it b:laugh. Zenning works when you have a good group. If you going solo, then spam a lot of genie healing skills and grind humanoind (unless you taking on caster mobs,…
  • Same for sage fleshream. The fleshream I think just adds a large aggro value, but only for a short time. You are right about a lvl1 fleshream drawing aggro, but that all changes when people have a ridiculous APS rate. The sheer amount of damage dealt then manages to overcome even the high aggro generated by fleshream.
  • Just my $0.02 but if they want 15min runs with their uber 5APS gears, then let them tank. With all that CSing already done, surely they dont mind a bit more for their charms. b:shutup I still look for a good old fashioned group with people who havent spent a few 100$ for getting their stuff together and are willing to…
  • Hehe, true. 50-60 was the most painful in tusk town imho. Not much toi grind there that doesnt cast at you and almost everything there used to be camped with rampant KSing.
  • Sad but true. As a sage barb myself, I'll say go demon. Im debating on wether to goto 100 do my culti and then transdorm to demon or start a new toon and go demon with him. Basically ever since -int was discovered and CSing was the WTG, everyone except the sage barb can tank b:surrender. The sage barb does do more pure dph…
  • If you think you cant level imagine how a barb feels. Ok 70+ we pickup but under 70 (ok, this is from before BHs were introduced, so perhaps outdated) but leveling was a real pain and if any barb went any build other than a tank build (say to level faster) it was always a "Q_Q so little HP. You are a fail barb. GTFO!" So…
  • Get it to 7 ASAP. 8 if you feel like it or if you are laggy like me. As soon as you can afford it though (after FR, buffs and devour imho), try and max it. The shorter cooldown is useful in case you miss-time one and need to be ready for the next boss cast. Additionally if you grind in tigerform like I do, then alclarity…
  • In humanoid form, with the same equipment and all relevant skills a sage barb will have a physical attack number than a demon barb, yes. However the demon will always deal more damage because he has higher crits. In tiger form of course demon does way way more damage because of full damage+crits.
  • The 3% is not added to your damage reduction as I understand it. Its 3% off from the damage you take that is calculated after considering your pdef reduction. Simply if you have 85% damage reduction and a same level mob hits you for 1000, you take 150 damage. What the added %DR does is reduces the 3% off the 150....so you…
  • Meh, archers have too much attack power. Damn aggro stealers! b:chuckle b:chuckle b:laugh
  • Not another one of these damn threads again. Look...it breaks down as this: Sage Barb : Awesome tank; Fair damage Demon Barb : Fair tank; Awesome damage. Now YOU have to choose what YOU want to do more........ Both paths are well balanced. A sage barb not only has 10% more HP as tiger but 60% more pdef and does higher…
  • Fleshream only recently got the 100% attribute. Back in the day we used to bloodbath bosses, because we couldn't afford to let alclarity miss.
  • I maxed tigerform as soon as I could. I ignored almost all humanoid skills until I was 70+. In tigerform you need to level devour and poison fang as soon as you can. With that awesome pdef debuff, the damage difference is only around 20% less damage as tiger. More than compensated for by more pdef, more HP and no pots due…
  • You wont need alpha male too often in dungeons (unless you doing something like FB 89 brimstone unwined). Alpha male really comes into its own in rebirth.
  • Restat or just reroll. At your level, its just a week (or less for the hardcore types b:chuckle). Mag is truly useless to barbs. Yeah ok, it adds to your mana pool, but +MP equipment does it better. Also the added mdef and mp regen is negligible. Again +mdef equips and +mp regen apoth pots work sooo much better than having…
  • To my understanding, 60 str adds 1 sec to the duration the skill is in effect. Lvl10 ToP lasts 6 seconds and so heals twice (every 3 sec). If you somehow add 180 str, then you would be looking at 9 seconds of 120% max HP and a third heal. Anything less than 180 str and you get that much added time to the max HP buff but no…
  • High level barbs (typically us sages) regularly loose aggro to high level DDs going full out (triple sparked demon archers and fist BMs come to mind). Mind you its just for a second or two until I can cast fleshream again (and 3 seconds is enouh time for boss to swap aggro, and smite a squishy archer). At those levels…
  • It does help to gather a bunch of mobs when roar is on cooldown, but thats a secondary benefit. Roar at lower levels can be used primarily as a chi builder. I'd say level it as and when you can. The attack reduction is really helpful when you have a solo cleric and are facing a real tough cookie like Ape in 2-3 (those self…
  • ^^What he said. I used to have a strength heavy genie and had second wind on it. Even then it would only heal me for like 2.5k. Thats not too bad at lower levels I guess but later on its barely noticeable. With ToP it heals me for like 15k HP in 6 seconds. (Don't cast ToP till you down to you last few ks of HP).
