It's really not that bad once you start nearing 40, pop a mana pot while in stealth and you'll be absolutely fine, with a charm even better ofc :) and yes you can pot/buff/spark without exiting stealth, can also use shadow jump and stay stealthed.

Pretty sure it works on players, saw a sin sneak up on someone and kill them earlier
