  • Instead of the Shaodu Cub, just tame a Quadrastral Beetle, or Quadrastral Beetle King. They have almost the same stats as the cub, but they're free and easy to catch.b:pleased
  • If you want a tome to feed your mount, go ahead and get one. I bought one through the Auction house for 1.5 mil, and it gives me a few extra magic and vit points (obviously, try to look for a tome with a good stat bonus for your class). All class pets don't need food, though, since they don't actually do anything. They're…
  • I've been getting stretches where my drops stink, and stretches where they're very nice. It's just good and bad luck, methinks.b:victory
  • The bar where your name is is the chi bar (it will be yellow when full). Some of your skills, like Venemous Scarab, will generate chi. Other skills, like Ironwood Scarab, will consume chi. The best way to learn about chi is to test your new skills and watch your chi bar too see what they do. When it says you "Recieved 99…
  • You will be so stunningly beautiful that all your enemies will instantly drop dead, and be unable to res. b:shocked
  • I've used a quadrastral beetle as a tank pet for some time now (those are the little blue bugs from the starter areas). They're very solid, well-rounded little pets (and they come with the Tough skill, which is nice), and I've used mine for grinding, as well as luring in TT. I wouldn't tank Pole with it, though. b:shocked
  • I don't think Mystics will replace Venomancers as the chief solo class. From the skill descriptions, it sounds like they lean a little more towards support than towards soloing, and they don't have the Veno's shape-shifting and subsequent magic/melee hybrid abilities. Also, Mystics seem unlikely to get anything like the…
  • Amen to the scorpion. I collect bug pets, including the scorp, beetle, and sawfly, and they're all great. Of course, herc and nix are the best if you can get them.
  • Amen, and have some tasty cookies. b:pleased The end of it is that people will be people, and economies will be economies. Personally, I just find it interesting to study the economy. (I can guarantee you I've learned far more in PWI than I did in my macroeconomics class! b:shocked Laws of supply and demand just stick so…
  • Again, Clerics and Barbs are the most demanded classes for just about any activity, although a Venomancer with a good tank pet can sometimes (but not always) replace them in dungeons. By the way, if any of your friends play PWI, it's very nifty if one of you makes a Barb and the other makes a Cleric. You'll be able to do…
  • Pressing P will open the pet window wherever you are.
  • I'm female IRL, although my characters are actually split 50/50. This may be because I write as a hobby, and have grown accustomed to the fact that my characters are not me. I also enjoy comparing the male and female armor styles. And my cute male psy is nice to look at. b:chuckle
  • Turtles can sometimes drop hay, but they're not really a great source for it. I managed to do with only two pets until I got to around level 30, and then I farmed hay from the Antelope Pups at the Silver Pool. I think Abyssal Mysteries are technically the best source, but the river where they live is so dangerous that it's…
  • I use a Cactopod for pulling, and I love him. (I got the Cactopod because I think Eldergoths are ugly.) If you're worried about it dying on a pull, just buy the Tough skill from the Zoologist in Archosaur, and the Cactopod will be able to buff itself right before it goes to pull, so for 15 seconds it will take much less…
  • Actually, Krixxix can be tanked at a reasonable level, but only if you have the correct type of pet. His magic damage is less than his melee damage, so you'll have to fight him with a magical tanker that possesses a ranged attack. Between levels 1 and 41, there are two pets known to meet these requirements: the Eldergoth…
  • If it's the stats you want, get a Quadrastral Beetle. It has similar stats (same pdef, slightly lower mdef, slightly higher attack). It runs slower and doesn't come with the same skills, but it's much easier to obtain. I've had my beetle for ages, and I love him to death. And people are always surprised at how well he…
  • My Blazing is at level 10. I don't use it for grinding, as most fights don't last long enough for the damage to reach its full potential. I do, however use it for boss fights, since those tend to last longer. Not only do I get increased damage from leveling the skill, but the greater range allows me to stay outside some…
  • b:chuckle I let the cash-shoppers be. They pay the bills so the rest of us don't have to, and that's what allows a poor college student like me to have fun on a nice game. Plus, if I worked to create a game, I wouldn't mind profiting from it either--and video game concept art is a career I'm considering, so I'd be getting…
  • Few HP = strength genie with Second Wind More HP = dex or strength/dex genie with Tree of Protection I have a bit of Vitality in my build, and when I hit 90 I'm going to restat to AA/HA hybrid (and when I restat, I'll be refining my gear so that it gets good HP bonuses). So I use a Strength/Dex genie with Tree of…
  • The Varicose Scorpion and the Dark Wanderer are both excellent choices. The difference is that the scorp hits slower but does more damage per hit, while the wanderer hits faster but does less damage per hit. I prefer the scorpion myself (I have several pets of the insect and arachnid varieties). If you want to, you can…
  • I think what you mean is the Enticing Jumby? They cannot be tamed. Edit: I also looked up the Jumby Temptress. They can't be tamed either. If you want a good pet, pick one from the lists in this thread: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=260362 Preferably one of the tanking pets.
  • I have 3 buggy pets. Sawfly for air pet, Scorpion for DD, and Quadrastral Beetle for tanking. And I love the beetle to death. Its stats are similar to the Shaodu Cub; it's just not quite as fast (it started out REALLY slow, but got faster as it leveled). But since I have a separate pet for luring, the beetle's slower…
  • 1. Herc - saving for one 2. Nix - might get one after Herc 3. Scorpion - I always liked them, even before I found out the were the best DD pet 4. Quadrastral Beetle - won't ever part with him, because he's adorable, is a decent tank, and has come a long way with me (seriously, it's awesome to watch a tiny blue bug totally…
  • ^ is a male seahorse, and thus becomes pregnant.
  • This thread has caused me to fail. Dismally. http://chzhappychairishappy.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/c61fdbb3-62e9-4a41-ad4f-231c8c5e0140.jpg
  • YUS YUS YUS YUS YUS I HATE not being able to tell exactly where I am in the cave, or where my squadmates are.
  • What are you doing to steal aggro from a scorpion? O_o Even with a TT weapon and relatively high magic, I never steal aggro from my scorp.
  • In Soviet Russia, Herc has Veno.
