  • Yes, you can remove the soulgems. Use the "Purify" selection at the blacksmith, tailor, etc. although it says "Will remove all attributes" it's misleading. The attributes remain, the stones are removed. Then they can be replaced with other soulgems. you do not get the stones back of course. :)
