Hate to break it to you, but by using the forums you imply consent to be bound by the ToS - not to mention you explicitly agree to abide by the ToS (and therefore the forum rules as well) when you create your account. "Freedom of speech" does not give you the right to ignore such obligations.

sorry but when i see the same bots running arund on my server since 6 months now, after multiple repots, when i see players getting full r9 just by npcing a few thousand dreamchaser packs and so on, i cant take such delayed examples serious anymore.
especially for something that happened unintended for most of us. we all just wanted to get our gift, the result is known.

I agree that PWE doesn't have a good track record of punishing the people that they need to punish. But anyone who exploited this is still responsible for their own personal actions. And i hope that PWE learns from this and punishes them severely enough that they never want to exploit again. Me personally, I would reset all of their refines on all their accounts to whatever they were before they used the orbs on them. I would remove all the event gold they got. Iwould npc all the pots that they got. I would delete all the orbs of their account, even the ones they got legitimately. I would basically make suer they didn't get the use of anything at all from the codes. Then I would temporarily ban them, until January. So that the miss up on all the stuff up and coming. But then I'd have take a harsher stance on violations in general, including the dreamchaser exploit and bots. So there would have probably been less abusers this time around. Since one of the best deterrents of abuse, is making the punishment not worth the reward.

As for the people who got extra orbs legitimately, its hard to know what to do with them. And I honestly don't know what I would do about that situation. There isn't a fair answer.

UPDATE:
We've disabled the code while we investigate the situation of code abuse.

Some people abused the given code to get a large amount of orbs, so it was disabled.

This law you mean? About how CONGRESS can make no law that would abridge your right to freedom of speech? That means no local, state, or federal government can impinge upon your right to free speech. It doesn't give you the right to sign contracts agreeing to certain terms and conditions, and then refusing to honor your contract. Although actually, it doesn't pertain to private property at all. Yea, personally I didn't get the code from the forums, but through Skype, from a friend. The webpage specifically says come back in 10 minutes to use the code again. That's practically telling persons to reuse it. This isn't exactly the first time PWI has issued 2 conflicting messages.

The code was released and programmed to only be redeemable once per account. Before the page broke, it was. Everyone was getting "This code has already been redeemed" and QQing because people later were getting more. The 10 minutes was after the page completely broke, and before it completely stopped coming up. There were that many codes being redeemed at once, so many people trying to get onto that page or constantly refreshing it, whether they knew what they were doing or not, that the system no longer recognised the code as once per account. Because there were accounts redeeming it 12 times. The system no longer recognised the code's full program.

Which is also how some people who redeemed it only got 1 orb, or 2 or no orbs but everything else. The system quit. it packed up it's cubicle and went to Macedonia. Somehow, I don't think it's coming back for a long time, if ever.

If I could I would sticky this post and force everyone to read it and take a reading comprehension test to show they fully understand it before letting them post about this.

If you truly were rl-threatened, and the post was ignored by the mods, chances are they didn't see it. They are unpaid player volunteers who help out when they have time. Report the post if there's an issue so you can be sure someone sees it.

In other words, your out of luck most likely and it's not because you lost gold, it's because you didn't make as much as you wanted on an in game item.

Sorry your csing isn't paying out the way you would like but free to play, pay if WANT us the name of the game.
