Not that core connect is awesome at identifying anything, as it says I have level 5 Blacksmithing on this account, and Ive totally not made it past level 1. Since 2009. So theres no way currently to identify you, as you, or your supporters, as you.

2. I've never heard of ya. I could prolly poll...like 50 people who do random BHs every day have never heard of ya. I have heard of Annalyse, grouped with her, and seen her generosity. Im betting more than 1 of those 50 have encountered her too.

3. Zero reasoning has been cited why you're helpful. Did you do one RB for your friend there? Or have you spread the love to a lot of people on the server that they know your name, seek you out for help (be it instances or advice), and your flist is overflowing?

4. The fact that you thought I was targeting you, that you felt you needed to defend yourself (instead of letting your actions and reputation speak for yourself), and then went all "have and have not" makes you come across as a whiner who will do anything for some gear.

5. YOU NOMINATED YOURSELF. jfc if you don't think thats suspect or even just flat out stupid, reality and you need to have a sit down for coffee at the very least.

I'm all for Calvin's idea. I think it's wonderful and Id like to help him with it if he has a solid plan together to accomplish this (He does not right now).

I like the idea of rewarding altruistic people. But look up the definition of Altruism before you go all defending yourself or talking yourself up.

I don't think it's fair of you to pick on him for replying to the thread. It was in fact you who first brought up that the person nominating Dyrl was his alt. If he was in fact as helpful and altruistic as his friend claims, he wouldn't let her suffer your insinuations without a reply.

Also I have core connect closed on every single account of mine (and I have many). I don't believe that implies to any degree that I try to hide my identity, if I post from any of those accounts.

Also, I've heard of Dyrl, even though I only log on weekends to TW and NW. I've never squaded with him so I can't say how helpful or unhelpful he is, but I've heard of him and have seen his name in spite of my...let's see....6 hours a week on PW.

I thought the examples she put fit "altruism" fine. I think a few of them are exaggerated and silly, but they do fit the definition of "altruism."

Finally, a selfless person (aka, Altruistic) wouldn't ask for a reward. Her examples fit it, his actions afterwords kinda are well...he nominated himself lol.

There's no difference if you said "could." The point is you called attention to the possibility of them being the same person, and he defended her by posting.

Also I don't think Dyrl nominated himself so it's not like he was asking for a reward. He said he wasn't the same person Kerushii and he wasn't r9. I think though that if you're going for a by the letter definition of altruism this contest wouldn't happen, because technically the people worthy of it wouldn't want it.

When a player nominates her in game hubby is that nepotism? I believe not because she in no way has influence over the outcome. Don't throw words and concepts around that are well out of your league. You came from somewhere and have turned this contest into a mockery with your misguided perception of being a know it all. Log on now and poll WC....see for yourself. Ask who has the smile squads and has never asked for class, level or to link a weapon. Lol ask your fac leader who I am. Anyway I am out of this and I officially withdraw my name. You have been successful in ruining a perfectly good contest with your grandstanding. I would have just given away the prize coin anyway as I have with everything I have...that is my game, help and have fun, a concept which seems top have escaped you.

And one more thing....ask for the next year if you must, I have asked for nothing from anyone. There are R9s who I ran through their low lvl BH's. Don't ASSume ask around. Will I help you in this? No, you are not a part of this contest except as a troll and above everything else I owe you no explanation of anything.

And guys please don't harass the nominees. The top 10 nominees will be selected at the deadline as stated above. Calvin is trying to do a good thing here, let's try to keep this a positive experience for those involved.

Well Calvin asked us to use a poll to help determine who the final winner is, and the only way to do that fairly is to collect a list of nominations. The top 10 nominees will then be moved on to the more traditional voting poll that will be public. Only fair way to do it in the time span he stated he would like. If there aren't even 10 nominees that accept the nomination, then all of them can move on.

You're very welcome. It's nice to see a contest to reward the unsung heroes of PWI.

My concern is/was a popularity contest without standards and oversight based upon altruism is just gonna be a magnet for Cons, Lies, the Greedy and the Needy. Nobodys generousity, especially on the level Calvin is giving, deserves to be exploited or taken advantage of imho.

Guys don't forget to have the person being nominated come and accept the nomination. And to include a reason as to why you're nominating them. It just helps address player concerns such as the ones previously raised in this thread.
