HT most helpful person gets r9 ring

I would like to reward a person who is considered the most helpful on HT server, will be giving away a r9 ring or of equilvalent value in gold. Vote now for that special someone. Voting will cease by 15/3/2013 server time. People who are already r9 will be excluded. If there are more than 10 nominations, I'll add 2 more consolation prizes worth 50 gold or equivalent each.

Here are the rules for nomination:
Only one nomination per poster (so no nominating people from all you alts on your forum account).
Person nominated cannot have Rank 9 on their mains
Alts of Rank 9 people cannot be nominated
Person nominated must be helpful in general and known for being helpful.
Top 10 nominees will go through to final poll round
Thread closes on the 15th
Nominees must be willing to verify they accept the nomination on forum. (Just so everything is out in the open) If nomination is not accepted, then the next most popular person will be chosen instead.
Person nominated must be active.
In order for a nomination to be valid, person nominating should give us a brief explanation as to why they believe the person they are nominating should be nominated.
No self nominations.
After the nominations have been received, this thread will be closed and a poll will be opened. This thread will be edited by a moderator once funds have been given to us for safe keeping.

Met with calvinzeng today on HT and he traded me a portion of the reward items to prove this is all on the up and up. Link to our transfer screen shot is here. I'll be holding these for safekeeping as well as the rest to trade to the winner.

No, she isn't. And yes, she is very helpful. Made my nub bm feel right at home when I decided to make a toon on HT. Although, I won't vote one way or another as there are many wonderful people on HT. b:pleased0 -
You should put a poll option up for people whom are nominated. Would help make it easier for people.

Well, seems like a serious contest. I agree that you should use a poll after a certain amount of nominees are made, plus, might as well just make some contest guidelines to follow to reduce further confusion.
r9 ring/gold equivalent is a decent prize, so you already have a good prize for those that wish to participate.

Person with the most alts, friends and their alts, and faction mates wins! Polls on forums are teh awesome.

If you are honestly serious about this, and not just wishfully thinking, trolling, joking, unable to do it, etc....and decide to put a poll up. You may want to make it a public one and disqualify any multi votes that come from the same username. Will cut down on some of the alt voting. Can definitely say that some people will manipulate polls otherwise.

I'm serious. If there's any way I can deposit 220 gold with a gm or moderator or an esteemed and trusted player on HT, I would. Also maybe someone more qualified like a moderator, would like to conduct the poll.0 -

If you are giving away r9 ring or "equilvalent value in gold"... why does it matter if the said person is already r9. Or is this contest for the most helpful nublet.1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.
2. If you have less kill counts then me, don't expect me to take pk advice from you.
3. If you are hiding behind an alt, don't expect me to acknowledge your existence.

Well I didn't expect that, but I very much appreciate being nominated.
I do try my best to help wherever I can.
That said, there definitely are a lot of helpful people on HT and picking out any one individual is a hard thing to do. The two people that have helped me out the most (Ginrai and ElenaCostel) are already both R9, which discludes them. I'll have to give this one some further thought.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'd help you since i am on the HT server, but my comp died so I won't be back in-game for probably a month or so. I have run a contest before on my regular player account though.. I had wanted to do it again this year actually, but didn't have the ability. Q_Q Actually a player from HT won that one too, so I had to level a character to level 10 just to transfer the coin. xD I can tell you some things you may want to consider. Since gold can't really be transferred, you'd want to either get prepaid cards and send them the coin for the gold at time of winning, or buy the items necessary for the rank 9 ring and then send it to whoever wins through the mail.
You'll also want to make the poll public. Make sure you set the option to auto-close the poll after a certain time period so people do not cheat that way either. If you would like, I or another mod can close this thread on the 31st as well (send us a pm to remind us) and you can post a new thread for the poll/voting. That way late entries won't be accepted.
You'll also want to hammer out some rules. For example, it seems as though you don't want people who already have rank 9 to win. Set out the rules now so that people are clear about what is acceptable nominations. Do you want alts to win? Or is that okay as long as the main isn't rank 9? Can someone who only helps their friends win? Or do you want someone who is generally well known to win and is a helpful member of some faction known for being helpful. Such as Annalyse/Nocturne.
Things of that nature.
edit: Oh and you'll also want to have some kind of screenshot proof that you did indeed deliver the prize. And perhaps make the person who wins have to post here and confirm they got it. It's not necessary, but it proves the contest is legitimate so to speak. And lets others see that some player made contests are indeed legitimate, which only encourages future participation.0 -

The reason I don't want people with r9 mains or their alternates to win is I want to reward someone who is a non-cashshopper or at least not big cashshoppers. 95% of r9 are big cashshoppers, those who farmed their r9 just don't have the time to help others. The most deserving person is someone who has played this game for a very long time and is helpful and friendly to everyone not just to their faction mates, helpful even to total strangers. Indeed there are many helpful people, I will also make 2 other consolation prizes each worth 50 gold. But too bad 95% of pwi players don't use the forum even after many repeated announcements on world chat. Also most people think that I was trolling and are sceptical.
1 month is too long, can another moderator conduct the poll? Can a moderator make a lvl 10 toon on HT so that I can transfer coins or items please? Can you also set the guideline and rules please. Also I would prefer the moderator to give out the prize and capture a screenshot.0 -

Well, for now why don't you just take entries. You set a March 31st date. And then you can have a short voting period afterwards. I can still help you with any forum stuff, such as hammering out rules and setting up the poll etc. If you want. I won't be able to get any coins from you or anything of that nature, because I can't login game. But I can help you on the contest running end if you would like. I'm sure another moderator can help you with the coin part of it. And once you have the person who is supposed to hold onto it, you can transfer the coin to them.

Not giving them gold directly, they may not want r9 ring but something of equivalent value. I'm trying not to give rewards to r9 or their alternates. VenusArmanio can't log in game, other mods are not online atm, will probably pass 100 gold in coins to mods' alternate on HT to prove my sincerity when one of them is online.0 -
