I like cleric. And it will always be my main. The fact that you always have to focus is what I like about it. DDing is absolutely mind numbing imo. And if people act like an *** and start acting rude cuz they died. I tell them to release. Seriously. I make people release more often than I res. If it was their lack of skill, or game sense, that killed them, I make them release. Learn to play or stop QQing about a ****** death. Clerics never QQ about dying, at least I don't. I won't stop playing a cleric simply because we are the head of any squad. And we either get praised for a successful run or the blame for a fail run. Regardless of whether or not we even had anything to do with the success/failure of the run.

Can't handle the responsibility of a cleric, go make a sin. Like all the other cool kids.

I only make people release if they try to blame me for deaths that were a result of their own stupidity. Everyone makes mistakes, that's how people learn. But I refuse to be a doormat for people to step on just because they can't accept responsibility for what they did wrong. I can heal through a lot of things, but I can't heal stupid. As for me, I always make sure to tell people if it's my first time in an instance, and to ask them to tell me if there's anything special I should know about any of the boss fights.

Also I am astounded at the amount of crying I see over death and lost exp (this includes crying from other clerics). If you really care about not losing exp, Guardian Scrolls are your best friend. I carry them on each and every character I have (in addition to res scrolls), because (especially in a random grouping) I have absolutely no idea whether the healer is any good. I always assume they will be bad. If it turns out they're good and things go well, great! I still have those scrolls for later.

Oh a mystic can revive a person if they are already dead without self revive on?

lol, no that is a stupid post, so no they won t replace clerics. Most bhs mystic don t put self revive on everyone because of high mp cost or lazyness. :).

Well mystics res buff don't save up your exp loss to zero (with sage you still loose that 5%). And well I got that res buff alot while just going somewhere, random 15 minutes of being semi-immortal b:pleased

Mystics can help with support, why do clerics complain? More mana for us!

they should at least put it on the tank and cleric, or the cleric at the very least so they wont have to town it if the squad mucks up.

well if all the mystic is doing is casting their heal - they'd do better support (read as reducing the cleric's mana cost) by dealing damage to the boss. Realistically speaking, a well built competent cleric can solo heal a tank - not really any need for 2 clerics to spam IH on the tank, or for a mystic to assist heal there either.

That's not what I mean, being the only healer is fun. All I wanted to say is mystics have some really nice support skills, like Falling Petals which I really like ;o

The truth is... ALL classes are easy to play! You guys act like this is some super duper smart college class like algebra where you have to be Asian to pass or something.

don't most people take algebra in 7th grade or something?

Clerics are only rare when you need them for an instance
However when you are doing something you don't need them for, at the most impossible place possible they are there
No really I have clerics come by and buff when I'm doing normal quests on my sin at high 8x(and my quests are in the most impossible places sometimes) quite regulary, Ty to all nice clerics who do so btwb:thanks

Well I am one class that will ALWAYS want and rely on clerics....I am officially at my end game, but you know something...I still want a cleric O.O omg how incredible is that! Endless there is really only about 10 maybe 15% of everyone who plays this game who can achieve a 5.0 something. For the rest of us we like to have help. And to those clerics who get on everyday to lvl and work toward better gear....keep your chin up because this is one barb who appreciates you!!!!b:victory

b:kiss We all love a good barb that appreciates and takes care of their cleric! b:cute There are certain barbs (and tanks) I never turn down as I know that as I protect them with everything I have, they are watching out for me too!

Love love love those barbs that stay near to me as I run slowly through the instance to protect me from any surprise attacks! The ones that race back to me when the stray squad member drags mobs on me as I am helpless inside the BB to take aggro on themselves! b:pleased
Don't tell me get a life! Honey, I'm a gamer, I've got lots of them! b:victory

I, myself, would roll a cleric but I know that I`ll be good only for myself. I think I don't have the needed skills to play such class so I`m sticking to the DDs.

Scratch that, rolled a cleric and **** me, but I love it b:dirty

I don't get why people say clerics get blamed for everything, recently had quite a few instance related deaths that were really the clerics fault and not mine or other squad members fault, and i've never said a word to them about it,i've seen similar situations with other squad members getting a death or 2 due to cleric, and not once do they have the blame thrown at them....

IMO clerics get the most leeway in squads out of any other class.
How to be pro at all recent COD games, lay claymore behind you at exit to room, lie down and shoot anyone coming in front door, rinse and repeat.
Host advantage get you killed?Never fear, with a 50% chance of spawning in behind your killer revenge will surely be yours.
Can't aim for ****?Never fear.aim assist and cursor magnetism!
Best of all, after a few kills the game will play itself and bump your k/d to new highs with its killstreaks system!

ya same, left my cleric, I have enough of holypathing after every kamikadze idiot in every instance to keep him alive, its oke when they can solo the mob but usually they die 150 kilimoeters away from me and it is ofc my fault, same with agroo ping pong and people going 5 aps with no defence dying 2 hitted by boss.. no patience for this anymore, better make a sin and worry not about anything

I never really considered "leaving" my Cleric in favor of other classes (only visiting :-]) because I really, really like being a Cleric. But I can understand why some Clerics would get frustrated and stop playing.

Since TB expansion, the attitudes of most players changed completely. Before, players didn't stand for reckless behavior in FBs. Silly, reckless, mass aggroing players were warned and/or kicked. If you got a considerate tank or DD, they would usually tell the nub player to cut the s**t because they were stressing the Cleric. Though, the majority of the time a party wipe meant SOMEBODY *coughusuallyclerics* would get the nub treatment and get kicked or another player would just invite a higher leveled player. In any case, players were stricter but that meant they were more considerate towards their squadmates.

After the Tides, quite a few things went wrong:
-People have become lenient towards reckless players (Usually Sins).
-More people are abandoning their mains because they think it'll be fun to be one of those reckless players
-Clerics ARE STILL the scapegoats, naturally, because now it's easier for people to just blame the Cleric instead of telling Reckless Player#3902854 to stop acting like a noob.
-More people want to take the easy route and run BHs with Level 100 Player #1, Level 100 Cleric#2 (Who has to BB every single minute, naturally), Stubborn and Reckless Player#8239479 and so on.
-Kind of ties into the previous point but players have become incredible spoiled and think that a BH is a failure if a squad can't run it in 10 minutes without anybody dying.

With all of that stacked against a Cleric, BH becomes a hassle and well, why put up with it? It's kind of scary to think that as the most squad-dependent class in the game that I am expected to support players who don't have a single f*** to spare if their showing off troubles other players.

I cannot think of an instance where I was in a squad, PUG or faction, where something went horribly wrong, and anyone blamed the cleric.

most often, the cleric dies, and someone, usually the tank, apologizes. :( Other times, someone in the squad, and I have been this person, will be polite and offer advice on how the cleric can change their gear to survive better.

I've looked at Cleric's gear pages before, and just asked them in squad chat, if I could offer a word of advice on gear. If they say no, then I leave it at that. Often times, they ask how I know, and it's just elementary numbers. If a Cleric has an arcane build, magic rings, and an elemental Neck and Belt, and they're dieing due to physical AOE, I simply suggest they get Physical def neck and belt. You can have a completely maxed Fire resistance, but htat doesn't help if your PDef is 350 buffed, and you have to take some physical AOE, and you only have 3k HP to begin with.

I gave some of this advice to a factionmate, and now, her hubby invites me to FCC allllll the time with them. :) And those AOEs don't hurt her as much any more. ;)
