    It's something called aggro control. Competent archers know how to dial back their damage so as not to draw aggro.

    They're kinda useless now. Just another DD. Every pve instance can be done without them. The only place they are really needed is TW.

    I even remember seeing a video of five wizards and a cleric doing delta and cheze tanking harpy before TB expansion. So you don't really even need the current end-game armors to not need barbs.

    k, get GMs to move you servers lets go. The one warsong was +10 2 garnet deicide barb and other was +10 2 garnet G15 nirv with blood vengence str sin. It died fast and I never lost aggro, lets have some fun. b:pleased

    Please tell all your friends this also. SO when pk or tw, DO NOT target the barb whatsoever, keep him to the last k? He is no threat ;) Let him just move around till there are no targets left.

    Here is one I prepared earlier. I believe Rawrgh has finally got game: philisophy and everything wise.

    Not Useless, Their Sage STR and HP buffs are needed . The rest of the barb can be discarded at will.

    I see 2 socket Nirvana pants - poor thing :(

    I dont get whats wrong with that gear though, thats a pretty normal set up of interval gear for APS-build Barbs/BMs in PvE (if you cant afford Int tome).

    I almost cried when my nirvana legs came out with 2 sockets.


    I'll probably just add one next time those socket packs are on sale and they're selling for 6k each.

    the only way a traditionally built barb can be effective is if u've got full r9, other good orns/cape + rings, and have full jade of steady defence + a few vit stones here n there. then, with the epic r9 wep u can fight back without aps.

    otherwise, u need claws + 4/5 aps b:shutup

    Barbs are so useless I've never been refused a spot in a squad. That's how useless we really are.

    dont know what barbs you guys have had tanking for ya but barbs can hold aggro at least til someone demon sparks...then its the demon sparkers problem...but if other classes knew how to manage their damage (ie: giving the barb time to build up aggro) and also how to play their classes the barb can hold aggro just fine.

    if the people want to deal as much damage, as fast as they can, then they deserve to get the aggro :p

    Barb's are extremely useful, and I love my Barb. Working on getting my BM to 5aps atm, then my Cleric to 100 w/ R8... Finally, a 100 5aps sin!

    What Rawrgh said wasn't incorrect, you're just too far behind to understand how correct he was. A flawed system, to be sure, but one we still willingly choose to live under, for better or worse.

    The only thing he's "admitting" is that he plays aggro pingpong with some of the best DDs in the game. Oh, such a terrible tank he is.

    Didn't say he was a bad tank either. I'm saying that bragging about being able to beat non 5aps people and anyone with worse gear is pointless and tells me NADA, NOTHING, ZERO about his capabilities.

    More like it isn't necessary. If I glitch tiger form with claws I have 5.0 aps with 14.5k hp, and I can tank just about every instance in the game. Delta gives me a bit of trouble but as long as I pay attention I'm fine, and this is with a base VIT of 20 and an average refine of +4

    And exploiting a glitch isn't impressive.
