Now that would be epic. Just what people wanted, the most-wanted Boutique Item, now available for coins. Only, the coin cost is currently about three times more than buying Gold and using that in the Boutique. But hey, at least you'd get to put some coin out of circulation!
See what I did there? If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.

I vote they change the cost of the badges to 500 coin each >_>
THEN it might be worth the bother, considering the (so far) crappy rewards people have gotten.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

A developer's job is to create and maintain the product following the instructions of their management.
The orders will have came from above. I shudder to think this was the marketing department's idea because... I can't see it being great as far as marketing goes.
Its most probably the choice of the financial department to try and encourage sales.
two 20% reductions (not a 40% reduction) of DQ item npc price and this quest seem to both be trying to reduce the amount of coin in circulation. The 2 week double exp is likely to be something to take player's minds off of it and to reduce the amount of players who quit the game because of it.
I'm pretty sure the reduction in coin will only encourage more gold sales but to what effect? In the long term coins will become more valuable compared to gold which will drop gold prices and allow more to be bought with coins, therefore balancing the economy again.
Each time PWI does something like this, the prices will even out, they will look different but it should take about the same amount of effort in game or cash out of game (Buying gold) To get specific items.
I haven't been on this game long, however, and am basing much of this post on assumptions that I've made from my own logic and experiences with several over mmorpg's with real life cash markets that I've played in the past.
If anyone could offer some examples proving OR disproving my point, id be grateful.

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.0 -

19 DQ91 items or
22 DQ81 or
26 DQ71 or
30 DQ61 or
35 DQ51... b:cry0 -
lol, did it this morning....I was curious, shoot me.
1.4mil (285 badges).
Asked me for 20 Element Light - got them from OHT - (68k)
turned it that quest, got another for 20 Element Light (68k)
Random teleports - 20k
Turned that one in, got 14x xxx XP, and two items to open
Opened first - got 5k XP
Opened second - got another quest to buy 285 badges.
so... all in all....1.7 mil coins for 140k xp. In other words... PWI got from me 1.7 mil and I got a facial.

I just did this on lvl 43 psy. And for:
290k worth of tiger badges
and 3 lots of 8 DQ items
.. and visits to 4 NPC's
I got 36k exp and 7500 spirit.
a guesstimated return of 9 coin per 1 exp.
Compared to Oracle 2 return of:
2 coin per 1 exp.
Pros:
+ Repeatable as many times as you like in same day
+ Takes a few mins (at lvl 40)
Cons:
- Very costly
- Did I mention it's INSANELY costly?
- Even from 20-30 (where no oracles/BH's available) it's cheaper (faster?) to get 3 HYPEs + 1 esoterica and grind for an hour.0 -
If you can take it as many times as you want within one day, it's kind of a good thing that it costs so much. If it was cheap.. well. It'd be pretty much like oracles.0

1.425mil ofc, + 20 mytical orb + 20 compound venom (both farmed)
142500exp + 29100 spirit.
reward
Orb of Desolation
200K exp + 40K spirit for lvl 50+. Only Account-stash-able (no trade, drop)
if its average reward, id say ok.
if its one of the best reward. LAME0 -
this is what i got on my lvl 89 sin
*edit coulda gotten the same exp from just WQ -.-;[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You can put it in your account stash?
That's very interesting. In theory you could use these orbs on lower level alts to power level them. A bad decision given the price, but still one that a few people I know would make.0 -
lvl96, 1.45 mill for 285 badges, 20 mystical orb, 20 compound venom, reward: 140k exp and 1 non tradeable non stackable training eso that is the same bonus as normal eso. Not gonna do this quest again.0
-
Woah, this is lame. Even if I had that much money, I wouldn't waste it on this daily. :x I'd rather save it for a good weapon.0
-
Make the badges cost 500 coin. Make it once per day. Stop that exp thing from being account stashable.
Sorted.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
the rewards arent all that bad but the badge requirement is overboard. either decrease the price of the badges, allow us to get them through other means, or decrease the number of badges required. if there's concern about people farming the quest, make it a limited number of times per day or something. the cost is just ridiculous considering the possible returns, would make it just another failed attempt to spice up the game - another quest that little to no people actually do.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
-
There must be another way to get these badges.
b:shocked[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I suggest....spend around 800k on DQs, kill 1 elite mob and get 140k exp, 30k sp, 500k+ coins and use the coins to buy tokens/hyper exp/etc.
Now wouldnt that be better?0 -
I am really disaapointed for me spent 550k every day its imposible and I guess not jsut for me0

I cant believe some of you people are saying stuff like

This is just one of many cases where the GMs and devs have absolutely no concept of the gaming community, how it works, how people play, etc. They are completely out of touch and the only thing they understand is Anniversary/Coral/Tiger/Whatever Packs.
So how long is this list. I don't know. Let me start it off:
1) This new daily quest - No one in their right mind would pay that much in game coin for that little experience and spirit. Anyone who actually played the game would know this. Hence my assertion they are completely out of touch. In principal it is an interesting idea for a coin sink, but poorly executed. Also the community is in an uproar of how easy it is to level as it is and how bored people are with doing only Dailies. So they introduce another daily. Well played. How about making higher level quests give more appropriate exp, spirit and rewards instead. That way people will actually quest at higher levels.
2) Chest of Coins rewards for FC. I mean how lame is that? I'm sure the Devs can look at records and tables to see how many people in the history of the game have ever bought or used a hammer to open one of these. Instead they keep a worthless item implemented where they could easily swap it out for a more meaningful reward or change the chest to make it more like a cube chest or lower the price of hammers.
3) Some of the exchanges for Tokens of Best Luck are ridiculous. Given that 2 of them equals 10 million coin you would think they could do the math to see what some of the rewards should cost in terms of tokens needed.
4) One GM asked about meaningful gifts as part of events and suggested Hay as a good idea. Hay? I won't name the GM because perhaps it was an honest mistake, but talk about out of touch with player wants/needs.
5) Reducing the number of mirages for decomp of gears? Making some 3 stars produce zero? They claim its because of issues on other versions of PW but lets be honest here. Its so they can introduce packs that have mirages so we need them.
6) Every skill or piece of gear (weapon or armor) that is absolutely useless for the class it's designed for. I.e. magic rings with accuracy. Has anyone ever played the game that designs it.
7) The new refine transfer stones that require well more stones then it's worth to just start from scratch. The only use they have is in Nirvana so why make them anything but.
8) The cost of wines to buy directly. Not even close to the cost of wines in game. anyone that played would know this.
9) <Insert your fail event/implementation/change here>
It just goes to show that the people who implement changes have no idea about the game itself and the community and seem not to care. They just want to push their sales out. Now don't get me wrong (Don't you EVER get me wrong!!!!!!!!) I understand they need to make money and I can appreciate that. In fact I want them to be profitable so they can continue developing he game and adding to it. However they would get more money if they listened to the player base and truly understood what was going on and made meaningful and desired changes. (i.e. fix old bugs). A happy customer (player base) is a paying customer (player base) is the mantra of most service industries. At least the successful ones.

So if we waste almost 1mil coins on the new daily, do we get coins back to cover the cost?0

Alumin - Sanctuary wrote: »So if we waste almost 1mil coins on the new daily, do we get coins back to cover the cost?
so far the only reward is exp + exp(esoterica, fruit) dunno if quest fruit would be tradeable but im sure it might lower the 250k cost fruits sold at nowRetired Sage.
