I actually made a post in WC not long before that announcement the GMs made saying that the bosses were all dead. But yes, they listened to one of us. I thought the event was pretty boring (fun watching tyrant aoe and kill everyone though) but I'm not going around complaining about it. I'm mostly just happy I got to see a GM in game. xD

But yeah I can't believe they said we had 3 hours to kill the bosses. Granted, the bosses were going down faster than I thought they would when I watched their hp, but that's still pretty off.

@Isala so you are 89 and stealing the event from level 50-70s? how pro of you. go to your own level area. people like you are the reason these events fail.

The monsters being respawned were 50-70. The event was for 50+. That means 50-105. The other event was for -50. As in 1-49.

to those who accused but weren't there, Hidden Orchid was indeed where the lvl 50+ players were supposed to go. After the first AOE boss, lower level bosses were spawned, then a wave of higher level bosses were spawned again. That's all that the announcement meant.

While this event certainly wasn't perfect either, I'd say that it was a definite improvement over the Death From Above event.

It looks like the players who were under level 50 were happy, and the players who were over level 70 were happy, but players in the 50-70 range really got the short end of the stick--they weren't strong enough to survive many mobs at the high level area, and even when they did survive, they were not rewarded with any drops because they didn't do enough damage.

For the next event, which should be occurring relatively soon, I'll see about splitting up the server into three groups instead of two--this way no one will be too weak to have a shot at some good drops. Not to say that it will be easy, for you will still be expected to have a group and play smart.

On the bright side, though, I think that we did two things that really helped battle-lag:

    1. Splitting up the players into level groups
    2. Spreading out the mobs over a large area

I was flying around, overseeing the event as it happened, and there were many pockets of battles where there was very little lag, so I do think a lot of players had more fun than frustration.

Just looking at these posts, notice how few people are complaining about the lag, compared to how this forum looked after the Death From Above event. I would definitely consider this a significant victory, and it should encourage us going forward.

Thank you all for participating, and as always, feel free to leave all feedback and suggestions here so that we can continue building toward the best mob-spawning event possible

    Hi Frankie! :D

I'm glad that these in-game events are improving. b:pleased

Now, about the drops. I've seen around that many people didn't get anything, and those who got something it's useless. I remember that Spoons once commented that instead of wanting awesome rare drops from events, we should ask for nice things that they can give a lot of. I'd rather have many people get as a drop several nice items such as a good shard, maybe some +1 or +2 Dragon Orb, or a useful trinket than having only a handful of players get rare or awesome/useless mats or gears.

About the lag, well, I think that also has to do with the timing of the event. Many players coudn't participate because it was in a weekday morning. But, if somehow these events became more frequent in the future (hint hint b:cute) we could rotate the event hours to give people who can't make it due to schedule conflicts a chance to participate.

And now faith, hope, and charity remain; but the greatest of these is charity.

While the people after you have already answered your noob attempt to troll, I'll answer you myself. I was at Hidden Orchid, and it was me who was informing the GMs that the 50+ mobs had been wiped out. Ergo, it was someone like me who actually helped prevent the event from being complete fail, not the other way around. LRN2READ.

Personally, I think it would be awesome if every city had a standard Wraith Attack simultaneously.

That would be extremely unique and unparalled in the gaming community.

This whole concept puts me in mind of the 1968 Tet Offensive in Viet Nam where insurgents attacked just about every city and military installation in South Viet Nam at the same time, creating havoc among the allied forces.(Tactically it failed, but it had an enormous strategic/psychological impact).

This would require players and factions to plan strategy and tactics, adding a whole new demension to the game. I am 100% for this idea!

    Peace...b:cool
