Hi Everyone,

We'd like you guys to help us help you.

Please post your dxdiag here as a LINK ONLY to your dxdiag txt file. Do not post it in the body text.

I will download and compile these, then pass them along to the developers.

Here are some things you can do while this is being worked on:

If you have Vista or Windows 7, try running the game in Windows 2000 compatibility mode. To configure the compatibility mode for an application, just locate the installation directory and right click on the .exe, selecting Properties from the menu. Select the Compatibility tab. Under Compatibility mode, in the drop down box select Windows 2000. Click OK.

Try experimenting with your graphic settings (lowering them, turning effects off) on the game launcher menu and see if that helps.

If you have forced graphic settings through an ATI or nVidia control panel, try disabling the features you have turned on with those tools.

If you have Windows vista or 7 that has DirectX 11, use this link to see if you need to update DirectX 11: http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-US/aboutGFW/pages/directx.aspx

    not sure if this is the right area, but i get the blinking black screen only on my new TB char and not on my other 2 chars. So far it only seems to blink in the starting town, haven't tried to get back on that char. since the blinking started.

    Black screen flashing problem I have is around Vanguard Isis in Dragonfang Village. I use the 'W' (etc.) keys to walk away from it and steer the camera away from the effected area to help escape the error. I have noticed a few other spots that do the same thing, but I have to use the keyboard walking keys to get away.

    I only get the flashing in the starting village and the area around it as far as i have noticed but mainly it seems to be in areas were there is a specific grass texture and if i move my camera to a top down view it goes away lest i move it again i have not tried any fixes mentioned beyond graphics changes but those didn't work it also happens with the starting spot for the non humans in jade dynasty and with the meditation crystal thing they do i got it a few times at sky song temple at the stairs though

    Hi, just decided to write about my observation, I'll add link next time, cause now I'm in hurry. The problem seems to be teleporter in TB starting area, not sure why. Everything is fine when it's not in sight. Every attempt to look at it ends with black screen, also every action takes double time to be done. Maybe it's not teleporter itself, since even flying over TB starter island ends with blinking black screen. I believe in you guys, I'm sure you can fix that!

    I am also getting this in the starting area of the new character classes. Walking away does not seem to stop it. Other characters are fine until they enter the new zone then it starts happening.

    I've tried all the suggested things, nothing changes no matter what I try. The blinking tween black, partially black and normal keeps on happening. I know for sure that the hardware is more then just capable of running the game at all max & on without difficulty, cause before the Rising Tide Expansion came it worked flawlessly without any tendency of lag.

    I have Windows 7 64-bit and a new computer.

    I tried all kinds of combinations but not working, still black screen glitch happening. I tried windowed mode and then it didn't pop the black screen, instead the commands taken were the usual two times longer and the screen lagged (still images for small periods every now and then).

    Hope this glitch gets fixed. Won't bother to try to play the game right now.

    Alright, I know that this is a known problem, and is being worked on. But I want to know when we think this will be resolved, and fixed. This is pretty much preventing me from playing as my brand new Tideborn. I can't move in the starting area, and therefore, can't play.
    I know people are thinking it's just the ATI card, but I have Mobile Intel card, and it's doing it for me too... It only does it in that area, because I flew over it with my elf, and it did it. I got out, but that's because I can fly. My TB can't.
    So, when do we think this will be resolved? Because it's quite annoying, especially because I want to play as a TB.

    Hi everyone, sorry your having troubles...

    Here's something that has allowed me to play my Tide Born's unaffected by the "Flashing Black Screen"... It may not work for a lot of you, but it's worth a try and takes only a couple of seconds:

    What I've done is when the screen starts flashing, I stop moving, and use the Right Mouse button to aim the camera straight at the ground (so your pc doesn't have to load all of your surroundings). If your not sure exactly how, it's easily done by clicking and holding the right mouse button, and then dragging the mouse downwards, and release.

    This has always made the black screen go away for me, and allows me to play a long time. The flashing screen appears periodically though, but again, only takes a few seconds to make it go away...
