While running around doing some quests, I flew to where some needed mobs were located. Having forgotten that I had set my auto-pathing to drop me to the ground when I reached my destination, I dropped right into agroing mobs... while afk.

Fortunately I dropped down near a Barbarian in the area and seeing I was not responding to being attacked, he came to my defense and killed the attacking mob, and then stayed near me to ensure my continued safety.

I would like to take this time to personally thank you for your courtesy, helpfulness and timely rescue. You are the type of player PWI needs more of.

I once went afk helping someone (where the mobs could easily kill me) and a cleric healed me and watched over me until I got back. b:pleased

I've also done that to others, myself. :D Mostly when they're dc'ing, though. XD

Once when i leveled my Cleric near Archo mines and saw other girl cleric which she suddenly stoped any activity and of course she aggroed one of the spearmans.
For me it was clear that she dced so i start to heal her <whit kind help of other cleric nearby b:thanks> and we managed to save her untill she regain controll over her character.
But it is true that not always could be nearby some "guardian angel" who can protect us untill we can "reclaim" control over character after dcing for example.

What really annoys me is when I do something like this to save someone, and then they leave without even a "thank you". It wasn't my job to protect you. >.>

That was pretty cool. Thanks for recognizing the toon that helped you out.

I autopathed to help with fb51 and forgot to adjust to max altitude. Apparently I was low enough to aggro some lvl5x mobs (feligar general) and then I ran into the side of a building thus stopping all forward momentum ...gotta hand it to the general, must have taken him 100+ hits to kill my charm (only 45K on it at the time) and then to kill me. Well done feligar general!

I always try to give a thanks to those who do stuff like that. They took their time to help me, the very least I can do is thank them for it right? Wish everyone felt that way though. world would be a better place.

Definetely. Being thanked is always nice. Otherwise people might decide it's too much effort for no gratitude.

Indeed. This also reminds me of people who become your "friends" to use you. It annoys the hell out of me. That, and random friend invites. Most of the times its from low levels, trying to make you a friend so that you help them. They should just ask.

Although I'm only a low level, I'll still help people out if they look like they need a little bit of assistance. It's incredibly annoying when you risk your character's life to save their backside then they just swan off without so much as a 'thank you'. Although, it's even more annoying when they do the same after you've just helped them with a quest.

It's good to know that there are some decent kind players out there who go out their way to help others in need, and its even better when said player needing that help says thnx. But! us kind hearted individuals are very few and there even fewer players who would even think to give thnx where its due.

Thre have been times when i have been given buffs but have not known whom gave them to me so i would just put out a general thnx on the chat to who-ever it was, sometimes that player is still within range of the chat and gives a reply other times they have gone out of range and may feel they just wasted their time and effort.

I know many times i have helped others and rarelty have i been thanked for it and have been left wondering why i even bothered in first place (the ratio would be something like 1/10 players i have helped that would say thnx).

There are some situations however when i wish those who think they are helping would ask first before they dove in feet first as their help only has the reverse effect (excluding the giving of buffs).
Time is meaningless if not spent wisely.
Life is short, so do as much as you can now before you run out of time but dont forget those you care about whilst your running around. If you treat life with respect, tehn life will provide you with all you need. If you disrespect life, then life will leave you behind.
Just because you like to say it does not mean you have to type it.
For some its so much easier to criticize others whilst hiding behind their own flaws. When all else fails, use a Hammer!!

Haha, I get that as well! b:chuckle Random friend invites from people who start conversations with me, or are with me in a squad for Fb.

I have that often... in FBs, depending, it's less bad, since in a lot of the 51+ ones you have some decent time to spark up a convo and check if the person seems "fit" for your FL if they ask. Or if I kill bosses for guildies and have a couple free spots, I'll ask in WC. About 90% of the time, one or two will request FL invite - I politely decline.

Why? They just want a high-level to help them whenever, thinking they can ask whenever too... and then get fed up when you're busy.

I remember getting a friend invite from some random veno in Etherblade. I PMed them asking if I knew them on another character, but they didn't, so I declined - my friend list is a friend list... or people I intend to befriend/team up with quite often. She started insulting me because I didn't want to. A few minutes into the argument as to why I wasn't adding random people to FL, I got another PM: the girl's sister, asking why I was such a jerk. I explained the situation to the older one (the second one who had PMed me) and they said they'd fix it. And they did. IIRC spent some time talking about such behavior, but haven't friended.

Due to constant PMs: I'm not German, sorry folks D:

I've made some good friends by talking random stuff in WC, and having them reply to me xD

Was actually talking to some random person today. She was saying she was quitting on WC. We talked a bit and now we're friends (she's gone for 8 weeks though). Only people who get to me are those who are power hungry. Friends are friends, not slaves.

yeah its always nice to be thanked and to give thnx when someone has gone out their way to help you and when you have done likewise, but as Sardonic said, players like that are very few, which i s great shame really.

A very very good example indeed. I agree with most everyone here as well. Many players seem to give up on helping and doing anything good for anyone once they have been used thanklessly enough times. It's been said already, but it really is a shame.
