Pefect World used to be an amazing game. It had graphics, a great community, and enough grinding to keep you occupied for months. Then measures were taken to blow it all to hell in the form of Packs, Hyper Stones, and TW/TT changes. Lately I've only really be coming on the forums but at this point.. I'm starting to dislike even doing that much.

The forums used to be a fun place to come to and read threads, comment on them, and just joke around on threads that called for it. Lately however the forums seem to be poorly run. Threads have been locked/moved/merged when it wasn't really called for, GMs not giving us straight answer, and let's not forget the new Mods.

I have no problem personally with any of the new Moderators and even know one of them personally, however... choosing three people that virtually nobody from the PWI forums really knows or trusts just doesn't seem to be a wise decision. I mean, sure, maybe in time they'll prove themselves to be fantastic Mods and I'm really hoping they do. That's what we need right now, Mods that can actually do their job correctly. Not just locking threads with even a hint of negativity or merging threads with similar topics just because the discuss things that are similar. We need Mods that know people have to be allowed to carry on a conversation and even if it does go a little into the negative they should still be allowed to discuss the topic as long as no actual flaming or rule breaking take place.

I've seen multiple threads closed because the subject wasn't quite what they'd want us to talk about. Even though people didn't really break the rules in the threads they were closed anyway.

Also, the GMs should not be afraid to answer something in a public message. If the question concerns the general population instead of one specific person or issue then why should we have to take it to PMs? From what I've seen PMs tend to get ignored most of the time and that solves nothing. If anything it makes the forum goers more agitated at the current situation.

I could go on about what's wrong with our forums all day, but it would serve no purpose. I won't be listened to, nor will the others that have spoken up about it. Most likely this thread will be closed if it follows the trend others have. In any case... good luck to those who still use the forums and to the Mods... You guys are gonna need all the luck you can get because people here can be extremely unforgiving. If you **** up it's doubtful you'll get a second chance. Do your job right and think very carefully before messing with certain threads.

If I'm banned or if this thread is locked before anybody trolls or flames heavily then it'll do nothing but prove my point. I'm not about to hide on some alt to express my concerns just because I'm threatened with a ban.

Umm.... GrimFlamez was a huge off-topic spammer and a troll if I remember correctly. The other mod was chosen from a different forum, the third was recycled and resigned after the debacle last night. Expect this thread to be locked soon.
I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.

Once again for the millonth time, the people got banned for legitimate reasons.

All you people are dunces for thinking otherwise.

Yes, they were speaking out about certain issues. But the bans came because they crossed the lines in a few posts.

They were not banned for the posts you are mentioning.

If that's the case then why would it take so long for them to get banned? Why did they get banned almost instantly after posting threads speaking out against PWE, even though it was in a well thought out way. If they got banned for previous posts they've made then doesn't that show the inefficiency of the system?

This thread isn't about discussing bans. It's about what's happening to the forums.

    @ ZAN

Upon my review of posts I saw they got banned for reasons last night. Nightrages postings were open long before that. I never mentioned being banned for past reasons.

You can also be banned for continuing on a subject you are told to leave alone. So multiple posts can accumulate and than a ban can be handed out.

Tat... stop trying to discuss bans. This isn't about the bans of certain players, but about the mistreatment we're getting on the forums. If your posts consists of nothing but "NightRage got banned because he deserved it!" then please, get out of this thread. I don't care to discuss his ban or any others for that matter because while I may not agree with them this just isn't the place to talk about them.

    Zan

Your original post basically was filled with information about how you feel about the employees or volunteers of the company.

Why did you not just PM Frankie with this thread information instead?? Im just curious. Writing about how you feel is just asking others to do the same which can be considered flame-bait focused agains the GM's and MOD's.

I am just curious to what you were hoping for from your thread??

I want others to post about how they feel about how the forums are being run, I do NOT want people to post about bans. Talking about bans gets a thread locked and I would rather not have that happen. If I PM'd Frankie I doubt anything would be done, I'm sure I would simply be ignored. At least this way he or a Mod is forced to read the opinions of forum users.

Also.. how is it flame bait to express one's honest opinions and to want others to express theirs as well? Flame bait would be if I said something along the lines of "GMs suck, forums suck, all you suck GTFO" which I didn't. I presented my thoughts in a way that isn't disrespectful or rude.

Too bad you are one in the many who can put words across in a polite manner.

Allowing it also gives permission for people to post negative thoughts which usually end up being very agrssive and intolerable.

That is where the issue is on how I see it.

Allowing a thread where people have the right to say "You suck <place GM name here>" does not make sense.

That my be, but at least they have the RIGHT to say it. I'd rather allow them to say a GM sucks than just automatically kick them off the forum. People should be able to express their opinions, and if that opinion is "GMs suck" then so be it. As long as they have a reason to say it and show that reason I have no problems with them saying it.

@Zan People do not have the right to say what they want here. Just like you don't have to right to say what you want anywhere without suffereing consequences. Some more severe than others. You have just shown to me yuo think that people deserve 100% freedom without showing the proper respect to others just because it their right??

@ Sactam Only Mistabawdan had anything worth reading. The others, meh.

Yes they did get banned for legit reasons, but IMO it's like expelling a kid from school who was bullied over and over for months, and then the one time he finally socks the bully out of sheer frustration, whammo.

And you have just shown me you don't fully read what someone writes, or lack the ability to comprehend what you read. I said as long as they have proof to back it up, if you have no proof but make a claim such as that then it's nothing more than a blatant insult that has no meaning. I believe people deserve freedom to express themselves yes, however if they're just going to pointlessly insult someone... then I'd rather them not speak.

Getting back on topic. I dunno if this post will be ignored in favour of flames...

This is one of the major problems with forums where the community is unhappy. The GMs are forced to be virtual politicians, because EVERY public message or response that they make will be nit-picked, spawning a million more questions/comments/concerns. Think of a celebrity being swarmed by papparazzi-they try answering one question and then the tabloids go crazy.

Sometimes silence can be better than responses. It seemed that last night, each time Frankie tried to answer one dissenter, people found more and more wrong things with what he was saying, and the arguments got pretty circular, if I must be honest. Sorta like the flamewars on some threads in here where two people are just refusing to see each other's points, and they basically yell in louder and louder volumes the same things with minor variations. And GMs don't do flamewars; think of how bad that looks.

On top of that, I do think they have to stick to a protocol of what they can and cannot say. Naturally, this leads to the appearance of dishonesty, and I am not going to pretend blindly that there is no deception going on. There is. But it's part of working for a company. You aren't allowed to project a negative image, even if that's how you feel.

And that is why I think the GMs do not reply as much. They are bound to uphold the company's reputation, even if it's going down in flames. Which leads to them looking like puppets. And leads to a very very unhappy playerbase that wants honesty. Unfortunately, I don't feel we will get it. As far as how much they can be blamed for this, I can't really say. They are people too, and a lot of times the forum does not treat them as such.

All that aside, I do very much wish that this could be an open forum, that PWI stops closing themselves off and shows a little transparency. More GM participation would be quite nice. Mods as well. That's the only way we will get to know them. I am really disappointed in changes as of late-pretty angry, even. But we shouldn't forget that there's more to the story than meets the eye.

I understand perfectly, but what you're saying doesn't apply.

It is a private entity, and as such, they do have the right to make up as many arbitrary rules and regulations as they like, or even throw you out without having any reason at all.

However, this doesn't exactly create confidence and boost morale, and kind of causes the resentment that's bubbling up right about now.

I'm not saying that they -shouldn't- have it, I'm saying that they -don't-.
