For those who are not familiar with Jolly Old Jones, he's an NPC that allows players to trade either Guardian Angels for rewards, or 100k coins.

The secondary purpose of Jolly Old Jones, other than providing you guys with items, is to drain the economy. The last time we had this event, we drained a huge amount of money out of the PWI economy, and Gold prices re-stabilized at a lower price after Jolly Old Jones was removed from the game.

Currently gold prices are inflated, however they should fall back down after this event/sale, perhaps even to a lower benchmark since so much coin is being sunk out of the game right now.

Gold trading is something that we pay a lot of attention to at PWE. We realize that a large number of players get their gold through the auction house, and carefully watch that system with a variety of metrics, statistics, and tools. You can be sure that when you guys are upset about high Gold prices, we become concerned for our players who can't afford to charge their ZEN directly.

We also realize that lately it seems like it's been nothing but sale after sale. That's simply because the large content update we had today required a lot of work from the development team, and with the upcoming additions of the Bounty Hunter and Warsong City (very soon) it's easy to see how their plate has been full.

Now finally. There are some monumental updates on the way for PWI. I cannot go into the specifics of what they are, but I can say that upon having the news of these updates fall upon my ears, I was not only shocked beyond belief, but more excited than I've been for any previous content update/expansion.

Xarfox isn't a decision-maker, afaik. GMs in general aren't. They're PR, and they're expected to deal with this **** when the higher-ups make bone-headed moves.

Don't rage at the GMs, it ain't their fault.

GMs have said the ONLY thing they control in game really is the cash shop.

I think you are right on this. And not every GM may have the same opinion or competence concerning the packs. But I am kind of desillusioned

So the GMs had a plan, and it didn't work?
And now you want to go all crazy mob on them?
Why don't you take a breather and give them a chance to think.
They want to fix things, but it isn't that easy.

    hence why I say:

xarfox is a bold faced liar.

    not all GM's....

    just xarfox.

and GM's do have control over the cash shop. they work with the sales team. GM's have influence, dont be led astray by what they want you to believe.

Disillusioned or not, there's a right way and a wrong way to respond to a misdoing. Belittling the GMs and accusing them of grand conspiracies that they may or may not have anything to do with as some attempt to compete with Glenn Beck is generally not the right way.

    Im sorry, a plan?

where did you see a coin sink plan happening? Two perfect tokens injects 10mil into the game. And how many of those has been in the game since the beginning of september?

I opened 12mil worth of packs and didn't get anything except normal tokens. I'm doing my part to reduce coin levels, at least!

hmm, where did your coin goes to? you spend 12m, but your 12m did not go out of the game, it goes to other player(s), the coins you spend just transferred from you to someone else. you did not reduce coin level. but thanks any way.

    The AH takes a cut. 5% I believe. That's 600k right there.

Also, you're assuming the gold seller wasn't some faceless goomba that spends thousands of dollars to get in-game coins that he can throw onto the ground in an instance!

Nothing wrong with being vocal about your opinion, but flaming the GM's is counterproductive.
