sage/demon?

is hp +40% only reason to go sage?ive heard demon barb wud be better tank since then wud have better dmg...and hp can anyway be high by + and gems!

    I don't understand your logic.

    How would higher damage = better tank? To be a good tank, you need to take hits, not dish out damage. To take hits, you need more HP and Defense.

    Sage version offers 40% Increase in HP in Tiger Form, including 120% Physical Defense Increase from Equipments as opposed to the 80% of Demons. Axe and Hammer Mastery boosts attack by 100%, as opposed to the 75% with 2% Crit. Bonus of Demons.

    Basically, Sage Barb is the ultimate tank. Of course it's damage will suck a lot more in Tiger than a Demon barbarian, but in terms of pure survivability, a Sage Barb will outlast a Demon Barb by far.

    Demon barbs are designed to balance out our weak points, it opens up a whole new offensive strategy with all the Crit. Bonuses and negates the penalty in Tiger form. It will be a better Killer, but not as great a tank as a Sage Barbarian could be.

    Sage is better for tanking, Demon is better for doing damage/PVP. Basically what Balligero said.

    i do know that..but my point was demon barb is still tank allthough..

    tho..barbs sux in dmg..from basics...so shud i balance this or make it better at what im already good..?

    I see what hunter is saying.Ok going sage would make your barb a better tank,but your not always going to be tanking things or fighting bosses.Demon would be better if you want a more well rounded toon. Making your barb one dimensional and soley restricting it to being a tank is why alot off ppl dont make it to 89 bcuz of the damage factor.I feel you can be a good tank going either way

    thats what i meant!but..im jst wondering if theres l8r coming bosses instances where is needed really a sage barb..where demon barb just cant survive coz of only +80% instead of +120% def and +30% instead of +40% hp!????

    for PVP go demon and figth always in tiger form (I have been hit for a level 90 demon barb... he hitted me for 4500 damage in TIGER FORM)

    go sage if you dont plan to do any pvp

    demon barbs, usually, are for increasing crit hit rate (and with zerk axes is awesome), for the perdition damage, roar and sunder

    also a big problem after 90 is the great amount of HP of the squishy classes and many of them tend to kite and run from us... tiger form helps

    and deadly b:shocked
    Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
    Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
    Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
    So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

    well..i do plan to do both..pvp and pve...so thats y its so hard!

    hell i do both..i make this sage and then i make new barb that i make demon! >.<

    ok dude think of it like this:

    btw im demon so dont think im bias!

    demon barbs are for rich players

    everything sage gives you can buy... u need alot of cash but u can still but it
    im level 95 with 19,000 hp in tiger im still demon and im still a tank build.. ish
    if u dont want to spend 500 - 1000$ + on ur 90 -99 or 100 gear then i say go sage.. EG
    as demon u cant buy the crit (up to 55% with bestial onslough and attack buff stacked) and x-tra dmg in tiger form tho u can buy better p-def and u can buy x-tra hp from the sage

    as for PvE and PvP
    sage is more for PvE and demon is more for PvP
    the easy way to prove this is to look at the sparks at level 89
    SAGE: 25% reduced dmg for 15 secs -- very PvE --
    DEMON: 25% increaced attack speed for 15 secs -- very PvP --

    If u want to own in pk in the early 9x u can go ahead nd choose demon, although later on when its easier to get other sage skills u will regret your choice... Demon barbs were made to pk but sage barbs can do both once they get all their 89 nd 92 skills nd I say this based on sage barbs I've seen nd have pked with.

    sure, but are you auto-attacking the whole time? it's better to use skills for a faster attack rate anyways

    no its not, its faster to auto attack when u demon spark.

    and no paigrande, im sorry sage isnt built for pvp, endgame pvp is all about spike damage, 10% higher damage with arma, 100% crit rate for 5 seconds with sunder... essentailly a solid 35% increased crit rate (last 6 seconds, onslaughts CD is 8) demon barbs > sage barbs in PvP

    Actually, I think that demon gets really strong at 92+ with all the skills that increase crit rate.

    But lets not forget Master Li's Technique, a sage skill that gives you 50 chi every 60 seconds. More chi = more perdition, turtle, sunder etc..

    sage spark is better because reduced damage is always useful

    i agree that demon is better for PVP though, spike damage to break charms is all that matters

    good thing sparks cant be seen easily when done in tiger form... until they see the little glowing ball below ur belly.

    another thing: higher crits(occasional spikes with zerk) help hold aggro easier

    pve has nothing to do with it. PvP is PvP regardless of what server you play on.
