YES Spider King is a LOW LEVEL quest FIRST

The original purpose of Tiger Striped Spider King is as a mini-boss for a low level quest given that requires the player to kill it ONCE. I sincerely do not believe PWI created oracles so that higher level players can exploit them by standing in line in front of weak mini-bosses & owning him in one or two hits OVER & OVER & OVER again.
This entire situation where normal low level questing of the original mini-boss in this instance has been forcibly overtaken by players who can totally dominate the entire area & force lower level players away & prevent them from playing thru is RIDICULOUS & DYSFUNCTIONAL.
It's outrageous that the GMs let this go on. The whole "get in line" thing is a joke. As soon as you get your turn & can't "own" the spider in less than 15 seconds everyone starts yelling & someone KS'es it & you don't get credit & they run you off.
As far as the LINE goes... If you are a popular female player you get 10 to 20 "turns" at the spider before going to the back of the line. Most everyone else is forced by these bully players to kill once & go to the back of the line.
I watched one prima donna girl kill 20 times before she went to the back of the line. Then they yelled at a guy for going twice & threatened to KS him if he tried that again.
IT IS OUT OF CONTROL & HOSTILE toward normal players on PvE who just want to accomplish their normal quests. It took me two solid days of begging, pleading, arguing & trying to find a squad who would deal with that insanity & stand in line only to get yelled at for being a squad.
PWI has created a real problem here between players & then turned their backs on it. Why not remove the mini-boss quest altogether if they want Oracle EXPLOITERS to use it to level up on? It's a very negative experience in the game & everyone is hostile toward the lower level player just trying to do the normal quest.
If I wanted hostility & other people in control of my game I would be on a PvP server where animosity is the norm. This behavior has no place on the PvE server. And that goes for the hateful comments about this problem as well. Keep that negativity on PvP where it belongs.

You know you don't *have* to do the quest. There are many quests that I avoid simply because I don't like them.
I believe only the Cultivation quests are essential.
The Oracles are here for a while and although I think they should increase the spawn rate and maybe put a few alt Spider Kings around, I do not think that is likely to happen and I don't see a feasible way for GMs to prevent the current situation.0 -
They did increase the size of another oracle monster, just not the spider apparently.Main characters
Celestial Sage Venomancer Zoe - 100
Sage Barbarian Malego - 910 -

Reading comprehension much?
If you have a problem leveling up as fast as you would like take it up with PWI don't take it out on players who get the low level quest & are trying to play the ORIGINALLY INTENDED mini-boss quest at this location.

Oh yeah great answer... spoil MY game, lose MY exp, & ruin my quest thread just so that higher level players can take over the game & do as they please.
DUH... it's a MINI-BOSS quest... it advances your game so you can get future quests. You can't trash it without ruining your game. It's in blue letters on the quest list. You can't skip mini-bosses. You won't get your FBs later.
Nice try.
Rather than telling ME to deal with hardships in the game why don't YOU deal with the hardship in the game that at higher levels the leveling up gets super slow.
If you have an issue with that take it up with PWI because that is how they made the game. The problem isn't with low levels accepting how things are... it's the FAILURE of the high level players to ACCEPT HOW THINGS ARE.0 -

I think the solution to stand in line is really good, everyone has the right to kill this mob; without a line all the lower chars would have no chance at all.
I have saved a few oracles in my bank too and will decide what to do with them later on - maybe I'll give them to my alt or use them myself, but not as long as there are so many people around.
the oracle bosses are a nice change to grindgrindgrind for higher lvls.
last time I was standing in line, there was a cleric buffing all the people and helping lower lvl chars to beat the miniboss. it was really peaceful, almost everyone waited their turn.
maybe try to check in at different times, or be patient until the lines are gone in a few weeks that's what I'll do.~~Inactive~~

it's NOT a permanent thing and the ppl that have loads of oracles have either farmed their **** off for them or broke their life savings or even spent real money so **** suck it up lad they have every right to be there and to be honest they don't HAVE to give anyone a turn lol so be thankful they do
stop crying and wasting internet space and just either get in line or wait until the jollyold jones event is over ffs

As far as I recall, Spider King is only in Dragon Quest and Oracles. Neither are severely important in preventing you from leveling. Guess what, it will be crowded, there will be people who don't care for lines or whatever. Last Jolly event, I had Oracles (and this is before they increased the amount of them). I waited a week or two then did it.
It's called patience.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
This came up last event too.
Nothings gonna be changed about it.
If you really can't stand it, then wait like I did last time, and do the quests a few months later.
People have hundreds and thousands of these oracles that they'd like to do.
Thus, they'll try and do it.
From your posts, all I see is "me me me me me me".
Well, "they" are trying to get their oracles completed too, high level or not.
Given the situation, I'd rather see a "high level" kill the spider king faster, than to see some lowbie who wants his lil oracles done, while taking about 5 minutes just to kill one spider king. Get my point?
Your oracles are not any more special than anyone else's oracles.
Just because its a "low level quest" as you say it is, doesn't mean "low levels" deserve to do the quest first. Before you know it, other lowbies are gonna come and start complaining saying "That other lowbie is taking too long" and get a huge ks fest going on.
Least you know the high levels can finish it quicker than you can.
Now move on. You can level faster on other things. Okay?
There's no exploit here. Only those who stocked up on oracles.
There has been complaints about oracle I, II, and IIIs being packed and causing people to level abnormally fast. THAT is worth complaining about, seeing how this event has given those with coin a huge leveling advantage.
Complaining about the fact people are forming lines is simply ridiculous.
I'd say 15 seconds is a very good time measurement for these bosses.
After all, who'd like to stand still for ages watching some lowbie smack away to finish his one or two oracles?
Step aside and let those who can kill it fast, kill.0 -
Find a friend doing oracles, and ask them to pop you in their squad for one of their kills. If they're high level they'll kill him in two hits, and if they're the ones "killing him over and over" then hopefully they'll be generous enough to forego one of their kills for you.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Oracles have to be done solo and you have to do 50%+ of the damage. So I doubt anyone would want to squad.0 -
For those who suggest squading realize that you CANNOT squad while doing oracles. It says so right on the oracle at this point.
For the OP there is no ESSENTIAL quest that makes you kill the Spider King. I never killed him once and I have completed all the quests required of me except FB 69 so far (because it is NASTY). So yes, you can trash it and move it or let it linger and wait to do it later. I let quests linger accidentally over the span of 20 LEVELS and I still went back and did them. They do not expire and do not hold you up.
The only quests that are really important at the yellow/gold ones for Spiritual Cultivation, besides those nothing else really matters at all in the long run. So, calm down a bit please.
However, they could use to spawn more of the monster like they did with the Wicked Pirate which would solve this problem easily. What you should do is post in "Suggestion Box" and say "Please can we have more Spider King's spawned so that everyone can get the kill instead of taking all week in line to get a shot at it?".0 -
this is an old topic but if do a search on the forums you can find the opinions of GMs about it.
btw, so you know. Ksing is ok, the problem is when ksing becomes griefing.
I cant find the quote but 1 GM said something like this in a similar tread:
"it's ok to ks some mobs but camping for hours without end while ksing on mobs that people need is not ok.
there is another gm quote like this:
"there is a difference between taking a coin out of the pot than taking the entire pot"
LOL
what is certain is that GMs will not give you an exact number of how many ksings is allowed lol
ha ha , I found one of the quotes
http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=224231&highlight=ksing+granrey
by xarfox
"GM's do not enforce the rules based on levels of whining.
There's a difference between taking a penny out of the tip jar, and robbing the register.
There's a difference between KSing (Kill Stealing) a spawn once, and camping a spawn for hours in order to ensure that no one else can finish their quests.
The bottom line is that much truth has been spoken in this thread. Even after Jolly Old Jones is but a long forgotten memory months down the line, Oracle Books will still be around, as will the bosses said books request you to kill."0 -

oracles yes... BUT if you are doing dragon quest you can be squaded and never have to actually hit it. you get teh kill, they one with the oracle gets the kill.. everyone wins[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
On a PvP server this type of thing wouldnt happen so much coz u cant be a smartarse hogg in a situation like that with annoying someone to the point they camp for a few days. I'd say ur fault for going PvE. And as others have mentioned you just need to get one of these guys to squad you for one freaking kill then u can go. If no-one on your server is nice enough to do that, change server, go pvp. Your low lvl anyways right? ;p0

Just as you point out that his oracles are no more special than anyone elses, please keep in mind he's trying to complete a quest of his, which is REQUIRED if you are a hard core gamer and want to play this game to the top of its potential. Yes he could wait weeks for it to die down, but that is a bit unfair of anyone to ask of someone else. The truth is what it is. When it comes to oracles, Moronism isn't a disease, but it spreads like one! There are always people there who think, I am higher.. therefore I am going to do what I want.
It really takes very little to have humility. Problem is people think their time is more important than anyone elses. And THAT is what causes all the ruckus.
Problem solved, make the JJ events and oracles given out with them to kill all those mini mobs such as dodopod, terrorclaw and the likes roaming about. There are no known quests for them at this point, and forming a "line" to kill a mob no one else would need for any other reason would ensure that you aren't in the way of anyone finishing a quest.
AS for the poster I quoted, what makes you think that b/c your level is higher you have ANY MORE rights than the low level who has stood in line and waited 30 minutes for their turn. Its called karma, and when it takes a bite out of you; I'll have no sympathy.0 -

The real villains are the people selling the oracles. Mainly the Catshops at 528,653 in West Archo on HT (pretty good prices i might add).
I've also seen them selling beautiful sapphire gems at 59k on occasion (RRP 180k o.O)
And Scarlet Fruit @ 40k OMG are they crazy. (no KSing involved in scarlet fruit)I like pie0 -
I was under the distinct impression that the Oracles requires one person to kill it, not that you can't squad. The Dragon Quest just requires the spider to be killed but doesn't have to be by the DQ quest owner.
So, ask to squad and let the Oracle Quest owner kill the spider?
*rubs eyes* it's so early!!0 -

Exactly, I did it the last time around for every person who asked.
So, no drama - ask to squad and let the Oracle people kill the spider .0 -
If I were you I would've waited till this whole oracle thing is over and then do my quest. I sometimes do my quests even 10+ lvls later. Yes it can be annoying and unfair, but it's not worth you getting annoyed over it. The only time I killed that spider was when I got 2 oracles from my Supply Stash, but I can see why high lvls do the quest so often, EASY as hell exp.0

Every quest that makes people compete for spawns is broken by design. Wasting time by waiting in a line isn't the point of an RPG, killing monsters is. All boss monsters belong into instances, then this stupid stuff wouldn't happen at all.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

RPG= RolePlayingGame which does not necessarily mean just killing monsters without wait or hassle.
Furthermore this is an MMORPG which means Massively Multi-player Online RPG. The interaction between RL players which includes players deciding to line up and do all their Oracles at once is part of the game. You can join the line or wait for a better time. Putting everything in instances would detract from the game since there would be little or no interaction with other players in the instance.
If you want no waits just endless Monster killing then play an offline RPG.0 -
There is, of course, always the very easy possibility that is called "Hey, guys, I only have one Oracle to do... Would you be nice and let me go first, seeing as I just need to kill him once? Kthx." - 9 out of 10 times, if the lowbie is friendly, I see people happily letting them take their one kill before they return to the 10-20 kills at a time that they do.0
