You're right --it is a game but what Qwentomec and Deceptistar ( and please correct if I'm wrong Qwen and Decep ) are trying to point out is that the way you act in the game can also be taken as reflection upon your own attitude personally.

On a side note there is always somebody better then others in a game like this one and those that don't realize it...well Foxx said it all.

Am I the only one who finds the 'living, breathing, human being' argument a little tiring? I am sorry but with over 6 billion people on the planet I do not consider every human special or respectable. If I am working on killing an oracle boss and there is a line of people the following things go through my head:

a) Is there anyone there I know and like? If so then perhaps I will work with him and not move forward.

b) How much time do I have left to play? If I want to log off soon there is a greater incentive for me to kill it and go.

c) If there is no one I like then is there anyone who is important and would cause a lot of trouble for me if I pissed them off? If so then I will be obedient in line.

Quite frankly if the line just consists of a bunch of entitled nobodies then I will not have a problem killing the monster for my quests. You have to EARN my respect and friendship (the onus is more on you to be friendly and talk to me since you are the lower level). Just existing as a newbie in the game or as a human being in the world means nothing anymore since there are so many around.

If you want everyone to be happy to see a low level and be thrilled to help them and such, play a game where the population is very low and extra players will be greatly appreciated. Over here you are just another number.

Heck take that advice in real life too - if you don't like the fact that your mere existence doesn't impress anyone here, move to a deserted region - the locals will love an extra hand.

I did not ask you to treat them like they are your friend, I simply stated that you should treat people with the same respect you would show others in your daily life. in real life, why do some people do all that? because nothing happens. everyone the line will be angry but no-one will say a word. some will even think you're wrong for reacting.

So your saying that people do not get tickets for driving on the shoulder? Or that people do not start fist fights because you cut infront of them in line at McDonalds? Or that the person at the register doesn't refuse to take the order of the jerk who cuts off everyone else? I have seen all of these things happen.

I do act the way I do here in real life. I have forced people out of my store for acting like a jerk. I have called the police when I have witnessed a crime. I have even stopped a ****. I do not stand idle letting these things happen when they are happening in front of me. And I have never been told I was wrong for doing so. Some people may choose to stand by doing nothing, but there are people who choose to stop these things from happening.

they mostly don't. you know it. same to the drunk ones, drug addicts and "street racers". my neighbour used to crash her car every 2-3 months. she was the worst driver I've ever met. once mom took a ride with her and told me she nearly hit 3 pedestrians.
I've never seen any.
They mostly don't care. I started working on my own by the age of 16 with fixing computers. Nearly every store/stand I would go to buy hardware/software would give me the feeling "oh this is just another computer nerd who will just take all my time and then just leave; I'll go for the real customer instead".

I am playing to enjoy my alternate, darker sides that I do not release in the real world - not out of cowardice, but because that is something I do not wish to be used.

So take that up your psychology and shove it.

This is perfect cowardice. You don't act this way in real life because there are real consequences for your actions. But in the game there are no real consequences to stop you. You have no human compasion, and you lack empathy.

You live life as a passer by, you have by definition pretty much defined the existence of a person who has never looked outside a box even if they are a pair of sunglasses you picked up off the ground when you were 13 years old and thought they were the coolest thing in the world.

Many people have made great points here, and you will only acknowledge the ones you think that your logic can somehow penetrate to make them feel less substantial or viable because you try and use words in a fashion that is beyond your own comprehension. Maybe its time for the cookies to come out, and everyone makes up and gets along.

Charming -- Thats funny, I believe you said you feared doing these 'reactionary' type things because of the reactions of what might happen, someone might punch you in the face, or the clerk might refuse you service. Why don't you use some of that charm to weasel your way around that entirety of the situation and try to smile and nod your way past the living beings you cant deveive with a pretty word behind a fake name? There is always the chance that someone will notice but if your so charming thats part of the gamble isn't it? I can see your life is full of a lot of drive through lines when you are able and a lot of fear and regret when you have to confront your fears of standing in line 'this dude is undressing me with his eyes' and that makes you not want to order the side salad. I see your ambition is actually curtailed to a sniveling little pimple that doesn't want to pop no matter how many times you squeeze it, that, is your ambitious and charming way.

Pass me in the game and whether your higher level or not it only takes a few words to destroy that ample attitude of yours, because all you have to fall back on is your pimple personality. This is what people have been trying to point out whether you've noticed it or not, you can ACT big, TALK big, be high level and think less of others, but it only takes one person to make you crawl on your knees and give you bad dreams for a week because they knew exactly how to pop your ego like the zit you are.

Go crawl back under your rock and when you get the charm and ambition to come crawling back out, try doing something thats actionary instead of hiding behind the 3 largest people in the room because you think you'll have a less likely chance of being the target then.....

Now this is a funny post because beneath under this huge wall of text is practically nothing of substance.

Somehow you connected the dots that my cowardice has all of a sudden made me a passerby individual - you even gave a nifty line about sunglasses to boot.

Then you go on to say that I am dazzling my posts using substantial words that I don't understand. Really, please, tell me what words am I using to sound complex - I honestly thought I used pretty commonplace words. Maybe a few that had more than 3 syllables I am sorry.

Next we move on to the most substantial part - how come I don't use my 'charm' (I knew someone would catch that!) to gently move everyone around? Well unfortunately even at my best I can't risk it due to individual as smart as YOU seeing through my clever lines. The rest of this paragraph seemed to be random insult lines generated from a website that make very little sense put together.

I am a awesome high level 46 on Lost City. Feel free to break my ego anytime - I warn you that I bound everything on me and carry nothing else unless I was in the middle of a little grinding.

Doing something actionary? I love this one and I am going to see if it could be added to urban dictionary. You may be the proud owner of a word in Websters. To reply to the meat in of itself, I play this game to mess around - not build a second me.
