    I don't do in depth roleplay, but usually when talking to someone I talk more like the character would, like complaining about killing x amount of a creature for a lazy good-for-nothing. (AKA the NPC)

    The Kin shall explain Roleplaying to the best of his ability.

    Simply put, there is this thing called Life that is on occasion fairly dull, boring and at other times just plain nasty. Roleplaying is...Like writing a book if you will. It's a fictional story that people, The Kin included, like to enjoy. Simply put, everyone has their own forms of amusement. Some like reading, others like riding bikes, some like working out in the gym, etc. None of them are any better than the other.

    Roleplaying is a way to escape the stress of life. You, for a period, but your thoughts into creating a character in this other world, much like a story, only you are creating it. It does require some semblance of intelligence mind you to RP, atleast RP effectively without being looked down upon. Now that's not to say that every RP'er goes around going "Hail! How art thou today?!" and stuff. That's not the case at all. While roleplaying can be cheesy, depending on how the person decides they want to speak, act, etc, it can also be really fun.

    im not a hardcore mmo player but i do luv to waste a few hours roleplaying in a game just to have sum fun.

    I'm confused, at first I thought you were a dude back then, then I see you having a girl avatar so assumed your a girl, so I couldnt decide and guessed.

    Rping is fun if you see people just normaly talking in guild chat, feel bored and go..
    *Chases (implant name here) with a chainsaw and uses my extended tongue to lick chickens as i run after them*

    Then people go "WTH" Then i just slowly ease away into the shadows after knowing i have annoyed another soul.

    I don't defend my fandoms. I simply laugh at the ignorant monkeys who talk down upon them simply because they think their way of life is superior.

    As far as an RP guild goes... If someone wants to start one, I'm down for helping work on a site/vent, etc. I'm going to be a complete nub when the cb starts, so it'll probably be best to have someone else leading it. If I thought I could, I'd gladly take the initiative. :)

    It's a shame that the hatred towards RPers is as strong as it is. :( I am a hardcore PvPer, and I typically dislike most PvE experiences. I usually go for the mmos with good PvP.

    It's gonna suck being bored with PvE. T_T

    Anyways, if anyone is interested in getting some plans together for a high quality/heavy RP guild, let me know. I'd be interested in doing whatever I can to get that plan set in motion. :)

    ALSO WE NEED AN RP SERVER!
    Perfect World looks PERFECT for RP. In fact, that's the main reason I bothered to check it out when i saw it on mmosite! IMO, it'd be a huge waste to not have a good RP community SOMEWHERE within the game.

    I feel the same way. Conflict is good. You can't just RP sitting around all day, there has to be an enemy... and it's much more fun if that enemy is another player and not just some faceless monster. With PvP, you can do stuff like hire body guards to safely escort you from town to town... or get into skirmishes with rival guilds... or try to bribe them into not attacking you... fun stuff like that. Well, at least you can still fight anywhere. I'll probably run around with safe mode off most of the time.

    As for the guild, I don't consider myself knowledgeable enough about RP or PW to start up a guild myself, but I'll support it anyway I can, that's for sure. I was thinking to start with, it might be best to set up the guild as nothing more than an OOC entity that lets RPers more easily meet up and organize events.

    If we get enough people, then it might be interesting to set up multiple guilds as IC factions. Maybe one side would be a good-aligned guild, while the other guild could be a group of roving bandits, or maybe a dark cult.

    Just some thoughts. :)

    That's exactly what I mean. Anything that could help the players immerse themselves in the game is what creates a good RP experience. A believable world and a lack of immature assheads is what makes a perfect RP experience.

    Summary: I think this game needs an RP server.

    As for the CB, if you'd like to form an RP guild with me, I'd set it as my top priority to get a site/community online so that we can keep it going even when the beta ends. :)

    Sadly, they've already confirmed there will be no RP server, at least for the present. However I'd be more than happy to help set up an RP guild. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, feel free to message me if you guys get one going.

    RP is in the eyes of beholder. You can RP in any game given the setting and game play, just like inventing you own RP style.

    I've played on the RP servers of WoW for a long time and the RP there is pretty one-sided. Alliance is good, Horde is evil. Perfect World has much potential for RP since you can kick the **** out of anyone but the problem is, it seems, that there is much hatred for it.

    Too bad there aren't any RP servers, that would have been nice. If anyone starts an RP guild, I'm willing to join when the OB goes into launch.

    I'm totally up for RP if someone gets an RP guild started. I'm not hardcore rp or anything but I think it might be fun to do. I was a chatroom/forum rp'er. I've never actually rp'ed in a game before.

    btw, I don't understand why people think they are cool for downing RPers. It seems pretty childish, imo. None of you anti-RP losers would even be able to play mmorpgs if it wasn't for us hardcore RPers.

    In the end people are gonna do what they wanna do. PVP is fun if done right. I enjoyed Arena and Bgs in WoW, but I cannot stand just mindless pvp. If your getting something out if it other than some thrill that your better than someone else then thats cool in my book. With roleplay a lot of people enjoy immersing themselves into the game and making the game more than it already is. There is nothing wrong with either playstyle, but you find more than naught the immature folks tend to stay on the pvp side of the fence. I think it has to do with the whole nature of pvp in general. The aggession and being able to overpower someone rather than the reasoning and thought behind roleplaying.

    anyway, again, people will enjoy what they enjoy. Some will just voice their opinions louder than others trying to make themselves feel better about it.

    Personally the best RP guild I saw in PW-MY was Anahata. They are by far one of the most tight grouped guilds and some of the few level headed pvp-ers.

    They even had stories to go with their characters and all which evolved as time went by

    I would love them to come to this game D; but they wanna stay on pw-my

    Eh....not really my thing but eh....it might be a bit interesting looking how you guys play...i don't i really don't care what others players do , since we all play it in our own ways ...but i don't know xP , its creative tho , will give a 10 out of 10 because if it~~ to the idea i mean :)

    Windows sucks, but Vista is just garbage. I'd rather use Me. It's just about as stable lol

    The only thing keeping me on Windows is mmorps. That's it. EVE is the only game I play that runs well with linux on my system. (I've got Debian on this, too) I couldn't leave my games behind. :(

    That's a complete lie, vista has been more stable than XP for me. XP BSODs with netlimiter installed, vista doesn't. Weeks uptime and no issues at all.

    And I'd be using gentoo if I could run share ex2 and games on it
