What are the chances/your thoughts on RP within PW? I am a heavy RPer and I have been looking for a new MMO in which I can enjoy myself. Most F2P mmos tend to have lackluster (If any at all) RP going on. It's just something I gotta live with.

My question: If I come into this game looking for any RP (And possible erp ;D), will I be let down?

Or is it still too soon to say? Will I need to wait for a final release to know for sure? etc etc etc

    There won't be a specific RP server.

    But nothing prevent you from making a guild dedicated to RPing. Most people you'll try to RP with will ignore you, so you better do it with like-minded players.

    I saw one such guild once on the MY-EN servers.

    There will certainly be a few of us RPers (There was another topic basically asking the same thing a little while ago), the trick will be finding each other IG, really. I'm not way into it, but I enjoy casually RPing. Helps take the edge off grinding, at times.

    I do support the idea of an RP guild. Would make one, if I was halfway dedicated... Or really just dedicated enough to spend the money. Which I may be. At some point later than now.

    Some people, including myself, really like Role Playing, because you can put yourself into the world of the game, instead of you sitting behind your keyboard.. It's fun! and kills time quick Haha :P and i guess it saves u from giving ur personal info on there, too ;)

    since this iss an RPG, I will most likely be getting into character... Meaning I'll be open to some RP, but not really heavy stuff ^^

    RP as cheesy as possible, it helps me identify targets.

    hahah yea totally agree!

    I'm not much a RP'er myself but I'm guessing on the PVE server you'd be able to do something like that, without worrying about guys just wanting to kill you for it.

    It's nice to see other RPers here! I would gladly join a guild if there was one. It would probably be best to make the guild on the PvE server. I sort of wish they would have left the game to be PvP servers only, because when you force both PvPers and PvEers to be on the same server, there's a nice amount of randomness and PK, but it's not constant ganking. By splitting up the two communities, the PvP server will most likely to have tons more PK, and a self-declared roleplaying guild would definitely be KOS for almost everyone else on that server. I'm afraid that a PvE server won't have enough PK, but that's probably what we'll have to stick with if we don't want to be constant targets.

    Roleplaying is assuming the role of a fictional character. You make up their background history, personality, strengths and weaknesses, and then act out the fictional character you developed with other like-minded players. Your character might have an entirely different personality than your own.

    kiddies and pvp gankers will never understand rpers. We actually use our brains to enjoy the game. Its an aquired ability I know.

    If anyone can prove to me roleplaying takes "intelligence" or is a "mature" thing to do, I'll log off these forums and never log in again. My post was about as "mature" as any roleplaying can get.

    Did I say it required intelligence? No, so the why hell are you putting these words in my mouth? I really don't get why you're on such a high horse, or why you have hostilities towards RPers. If you think RP is only for the mature elite, then your surely wrong, anyone can RP. The example you gave was ridiculous and just plain stupid.

    RPing can be fun on a server dedicated to it. Not much chance to see it on a commercial server tho. I doubt it would be profitable.

    It mostly happens on private servers, with low to medium population.

    It's a style of play. If someone don't like it fine. No need to bash those who do.

    Same old song again.... The optional-PvP server will be as real as the open-PvP server, like it or not.

    Yeah, I think a lot of people roleplay to some degree in online games. You don't always act as you do in real life. Some people like to play the bad guy and massacre newbies all the time, but are nice in real life, stuff like that. It doesn't require fancy language or complicated story lines to RP.
