im just wondering if guys are going to make female characters just to flirt with guys or get their money, because that has happened to me a lot, and i hate that, is there any way a gm could make the character the gender that they chose when making account? thanks

    no seriously though, one class can only be a male / female, which would be the...barbarian and venomancer? (Stupid international names) barbarian is male only and venomancer is female only so....if you limit the real gender of people, then some people can't play a class...plus it's your own fault for falling for it LAWL

    I'm a male. I only play female characters, ever. If a class is gender-locked to male (werebeast), I won't play it no matter how much I enjoy its mechanics.

    That being said, I never got free stuff, just some hilarious conversations.

    That's something I hated about Nexon: they do the whole gender restriction deal, so I have to sign up and say I'm a chick to play a chick avatar.

    It's easy to explain: there is no reason to play a male character in an online game. Period.

    In asian MMOs, female avatars are given ten times more customization and emotes than male characters.

    In shooters, female character models are smaller.

    In fighting games, female characters are generally faster.

    People who want to attract female gamers, and realize that sex appeal moves units, and themselves find females sexually attractive, just tend to put so much more polish into all things female.

    Guys get a headband, a baseball cap, a tuxedo and three shades of camo pants.

    Chicks get aviator glasses in four colors, six choices of hair each in ten colors, a nurse uniform, a tophat, twelve variations of the same shoes, three styles of gloves in both black and white, bows and ribbons all over the place, biker jackets and leather pants, swimsuits, dresses and let's not forget the prerequisite six hundred pieces of various fetish-wear (cat/bunny ears, collars, etc.) just in case they actually ARE girls and want to roleplay when they cyber us!

    Yeah. I'll take the chick model with all the advantages and overwhelming majority of the fluff content. Thanks.

    And let's not forget how much fun it is causing awkward situations! Run up to a guildie and spam emotes to make your character sound like she's moaning. "Look, I think she likes you!" They don't know whether to be turned on by the half-naked foxgirl moaning at them or grossed out because they know it's a dude at the keyboard. It's awesome.

    I hate games that restrict the toon's gender to the gender on the user. I find it pretty degrading that they are pretty much forcing people like me and junk, who always play as a female, to say we are female IRL in order to play as one in a GAME. It's an ineffective system, unless they go to the extreme and try to verify us through webcam or cellphone -.-;;.

    EDIT: puppetsoul beat me to it and then some haha.

    No, he just said that he has a disconnect between player and character, which is why he refers to his female avatar as SHE and not I in dialog.

    in most possible cases, its the nerds who end up looking for love on the internet. well no offence but 90% of them are. the remaining 10% is a very rare case where it's a typical boy meets girl story :rolleyes:
