A special event called "Perfect World 2 Carnival 2019" will be happening in Changlong, Guangzhou on October 19th. The event's main focus will be celebrating Perfect World's 14th anniversary along with its many players. At the same time, there will also be a competition called "Competition Masters" happening on the event, with live broadcasting of fierce battles between players.

The most important part of the event though will be the Q&A session with the game developers, which they will be unveiling their future plans and direction for the game, as well as explain the details of the game's upcoming expansion.

Hopefully they'll confirm my hypothesis that PWM is just testing grounds for a graphics/mechanics update for PW2/PWI in PC.

    Of course. Devs usually have a different view of their game than the meta. If they present characters equally on paper even if that's not how it turns out in reality, they'll still treat their characters as equals. Hell, they'll probably rebalance the classes yet again, irrespective of the meta.

    My wife and I saw the video, her comment was it looked like a commercial for PWI. Don't really see anything new about the game. I hate the skinny body and elongated heads, never understood why people think that ever looked great.

    @keshmarch That's describing a PVP event, not an expansion. That event looks like the new 6v6 arena that was added to pwcn a while back.

    I feel like that 6v6 arena was an event rather than an actual arena because I haven’t seen a video or live stream of that event in over a year on YouTube, while their 3v3 is fairly active. Also didn’t they have that event prior to new classes? I would love to be wrong on this but our 6v6 and 3v3 version is such a joke we can only hope.

    LAUNCH DATE
    The Call of Hailstorm" (冰戎相见) will arrive on October 30 in the Chinese version of Perfect World International (PWI) or widely known as "Perfect International 2" (完美国际2) in China.

    STORYLINE
    The expansion's story line revolves around the return of a black emperor called "Yi Wan" after a millennium, who disappeared long time ago. He returns to Perfect World to battle with the gods of the Five Elements in the Northern land of Perfect World.

    NEW IN-GAME PVP EVENT
    With this, there will be a new in-game PVP event called "The Battle of the Gods" where two camps namely "The Vanguards of God", an army led by the Gods of the five elements who upholds the will and authority of God, keeps the law and pursues peace, and strives to maintain order and balance in the world; and "The Emperor's Army", an imperial army headed by The Black Emperor Yi Wan who vows to hold the destiny of the world within his hands.

    If the creations are in despair and the gods are unfair, then they are bound to point their swords at each other - a battle between imperial power and theocracy. The Perfect World warriors will once again take the choice between the evil and the good.

    The event will take place in the Northern land, where participants are engaged in daily missions, random map events, large-scale battles, etc. The warriors from both sides fight and compete for the resources, so that their own camps can gain more advantages and thus acquire more rewards.

    NEW REGION
    The new Northern region features the natural style of Siberia, where glaciers, mountains and lakes are abundant with extreme weather condition. A new part of Western land will also be unveiled, along with a new realm called "Qi Tian", accessible to players who have reached level 102. The new city is called "Nikada City", in order to unlock the map, a series of daily tasks are required to be completed.

    CLASS BALANCING & CHANGE IN COMBAT STATS
    The update will be featuring skill adjustments for class balancing. Pets will be overhauled to play a more effective role in the battle. The combat stats will now be automatically distributed by the system where player will not need to manually set them, greatly reducing the complexity of the combat mechanics of the game.

    Wait, what? Pet stats or player character stats? o_O

    I don't know what it is referring to. If it's about the pets, maybe it means you don't need to re-roll the stats anymore and pets automatically get max inherit stats. If it's about character stats, I hope you can still adjust them manually because it would ruin people's builds.

    Any particular reason why PWI doesnt regulate these type of updates to better fit our version? It is quite obvious that whatever works for china does not work for us. Sins DO NOT need more upgrades here and should not keep getting buffed whilst there are other classes severely lacking in comparison. Pvp future doesnt look good...

    Based in Google Translate:

    Venomancer

    Pet's Evolution System:
    Improves pet's hp, attack and defense inheritence. The pet's hp and defense attributes will additionally inherit multiple times the owner's values, greatly improving the pet's survivability in combat.

    Inheritence of attack lvl and defense lvl will be 100% of veno's values.

    When your pet dies, it will no longer lose loyalty.

    Major adjustment of pet's combat system. Now you can customize the skill casting order, and set to automatically cast multiple skills.

    "The goblin battle pet will also increase the red character equipment bar. When the current pet's life value is less than 50%, the life will be filled with red characters, the cooling time is 20 seconds" (What?)

    New feature: Skins for pets!
    4 new skins.

    Celestial Giant's evolved skill:
    Kept the old effects and additionally taunts players, forcing them to attack it for 3 sec.

    Heliacal Phoenix's evolved skill:
    Cooldown reduced to 1 sec.

    Heal Pet:
    Changed heal from 540 + 30% M.Atk. to full health restore;
    Increased AoE PvM damage reduction duration from 30 sec to 60 sec;
    Increased anti-hk effect duration from 30 sec to 60 sec;
    Increased cooldown from 1s to 60 sec. (!!!)
