Yeah its creepy when a toon i havent logged for 6 months has junk mail.

    HOW DID YOU FIND ME?!

That's easy: we have the spamscript for a long time. Your toonname was registered over 6 months ago. This means you will recieve more spam. Fun fact: if you somehow decide to delete that toon and make another one you will recieve 'old' spam in your mailbox. All new-made characters will be registered once they come online. Tested this earlier lol. So don't worry. Most spam send to us is from a verified reseller lol. :D

This causes all of these issues:

    1. Anyone trying to trade or sell anything in WC cant
    2. Anyone forming squads or looking for squads cant
    3. Anyone searching for old friends or acquiantences cant
    4. Anyone asking for help or answers to questions cant

So why is this allowed? Why do GMs do absolutely nothing about this and alllow it?

Nowhere does it say that any of these 4 points are the intended purpose of world chat, for as far as we know the intended purpose of world chat might as well be to spam with random nonsense, and all the annoying people using it as a trading post or a squad search function are ruining that.

Point is, telecoustics are for everyone to use however they want to. Whether you agree with their usage or not is completely irrelevant to literally every single person in the game but yourself. For you to think that people should be banned for doing something YOU dont agree with is very questionable. As long as they dont break the ToS there is no problem, and depending on the lyrics of these songs you are talking about Im just gna go ahead n assume they arent breaking those rules. So I suggest you stop pretending you own the world and try a little less hard to get annoyed or offended by people that play the game in their way, much like you are playing it in yours.

Well, I will say that there is a clause in the TOS regarding spamming:

    h. impede or disrupt the Service or the normal flow of game play or dialogue in the Game or in Interactive Areas (defined below) in the Service or use vulgar language, abusiveness, use of excessive shouting (ALL CAPS), “spamming” or any other disruptive or detrimental methods in an attempt to disturb other users or our employees;

    So. Yeah. There is that.

Yes I'm an active GM, but I can't just slap mutes on people whenever I feel like it. I ride a pretty razor thin line on what I will and won't touch, so I can see where player frustration crops up over it. Things of this nature are more a "this is definitely outside my department". As probably alluded to in this thread, you then have to define what you will police and what you won't and the inconsistencies that will ultimately end up happening. This isn't permission to be overly abusive though to each other or to me, because I'd rather spend that time creating events for you guys and fixing things than having to engage every 5 minutes on WC shenanigans.

That being said, this sort of comes back to that whole GA program and all the pros and cons of such a program. 2017 will have a huge plate of topics to hash out.

This problem would be easily solved if a GM actually was watching the game or a mod of some sort was in place to watch for infraction on world chat. Some of the topics on Tideswell are really over the top at times. BUT then the game it's self spams too so....yeah I don't think they care.
On the topic of scam mail, I've made tickets about it. After any reset/maint. we have or server crash I get them on all toons even my inactive ones. And that is clearly against PWI ToS since it's a 3rd party selling Game Gold. But again I don't think they care since they don't even respond, just the auto message (Cut and past) that pretty much say "F-you" we don't care. Just don't go to the websites, and delete them. I know it annoys the **** out of me and takes away from the "enjoyment" of the game but what can you do?

@kalystconquerer#0876 Info on this is this Thread. Its set out as a massoff kinda list in a post I made.
    Original Drakaniel - Heavens Tear
    Black - Orignal Work.
    Gray - Orginal Work.

    EDITS Heero200 (Complete 06/05/2013)

    Orange - Eddits By Heero200
Red - Important notes and (Quotes By other players)
Green - Gxtra Info By Heero200

Ok I think we have a pretty good definition by now :

    Primary attributions :
    - Direct link between the players and the GMs and CM
Be able to Report / confirm any server crash or instance failure such as (FF)
    - Suggestions forum watcher (UNNESSARY AS WE ALREADY HAVE FORUM MODS)?
---> Suggestions (INGAME TO CHECK) AND PRODUCE SS FOR
---> Bugs (INGAME TO CHECK) AND PRODUCE SS FOR
---> Report any GLICTHES ( Good EXAMPLE would be the Goons Glitch.)
==> for both suggestions and bugs, their duty is to relay the most realisable fixes to the GMs and give them a priority order ( IS this not needed now as the Quality Corner Seams to be doing the Job?)

    Secondary attributions :
    - Moveing People from being stuck.
This should only be alowed if you can see them with out having to enter an instance or have to be so close for this to work and should have a SET location that this ports to (Say Arch Middle). Port Stones may also be a good idea for this. For the GA to move easier?

    - Bot Spoting?
From the forums i see this is an issue not big but a problem even so. Should the GA have any tools to be able to deal with this or should it just be reported? SS Needed ETC?
(After reading previous threads people have requested this possibly be one of jobs of GAs)

    - moderate
--> WC moderate the things that are said, the spamming, etc...
Possibly have the ablity to set ban* / Mute (*WC only) for a SET MAX (1~) hours only a GM should be able to pema Ban. Saying this would also be able to avoid Black List so its possible to talk to people even if they BL you. (Chat log will cover missuse)
--> give advices when people ask for a GM
(they must be knowledgable) Pointing someone in the right direction is better than nothing at all.
--> Scammers Moderation Via Cat Shops.
Possibly have the ablity to set ban setting cat shop for a SET MAX (1~) hours only a GM should be able to pema Ban.

PVP servers and PVE servers don't have necessary the same issues.
    Something to think About?
Stelth may be required for dealing with issues as we do not want our GAs killed when dealing with issues? (They would be a target even if u told people no to PK them. in this instance its not worth the risk?)

    Tools :
    - Chatroom IG (GA / Players )
    - Private forum
    - GM's and CM's e-mail adresses (a @perfectworld.com would be awesome / needed.
    - Each other's e-mail adresses or a group E-mail that sends to all GAs.
    - Limited GMs IG features (if possible (As above)

Immunity / Monster Spawn / Monster Creator / GM World Chat / stealth / Player Ban From Game and forums / Send Mail Item / Port by ALT and Click to location - Would not be Required or needed.
    - The abbility to do EVENTS such as a CUBE RUN or Meet the GA and spawn a mob.
GAs could help support events rather than run them and GAs could have an item thats spawns mobs sent to them to entertain players on ocasion. "O WOW their is a WAR RABBIT over here. 550m HP or something.

    Choice :

    - A Question raised here is how many GAs you would need would it be over all or Per server? Something to be thought about.

    by :
    - Application (resume + motivation + interview)
    - Previous Game History May or not may be used ? I would say on a person to person point. Eveyone makes mastakes however this may give advanced info if they will missuse this?
To Reduce the chance of missuse the CM / GM should apoint if people are voted in people MAY vote for friends rather than people who will do this correctly.

Some Qualities we are looking at from our GAs.
-Sacrifice a lot of time and miss opportunities like events. (if it's a player)
    -Be really patient.
    -Be polite.
    -Be able to communicate
-Know how to use forum and support.
    -Be fair,
This is important as its a reason people may take a disslike to, people should be warned when actions will be taken should the actions continue?

    -Know the game.
I think someone that really knows the ins and outs of the game would probably do a better job at it than someone who is hired and has never played before.

    Materialisation :
    On the forums :
    - Special avatar (like mods and GMs)
    - Title (under the avatar)

But have no need to Moderate the forums as we already have a good team doing so.
    In-game :
    - a tag next to or above their IG name
People will work out who the server GAs are eventually anywayz so why hide this.
    - special chat color

This could be a good idea so the GA can notify a player of any violation and can been seen over all other chats. Or could where it shows (Noarmal/Wisper/Guild/World) Say GA Chat when a GA is in contact with a player. ** THIS COULD BE IMPORTANT POINTS SO A PLAYER INGAME KNOWS THEY HAVE AN OFFICIAL GA.
    -Player Contact in game
How would a player ingame comunicate with a GA? the OLD GM button has been sugested to be part of this?

    Compansation :
    - Still UNDER DEBATE as forum mods dont get this. GA should be in the same to suport the game not for profit - Val to have final say on this.
    - Should GAs have a different account or use the account they play with?
Kinda this is more for the GMs / CM to decide ?
    - This is the most supported idea as well but will increase the workload on the GA / Player.

Security For GA, Players and system :
    - CHAT LOG system in place where possible
    - Event Log in place where possible

The GA should be able to make notes to this if needed to back up a situation.
    - A clear understanding for players / GMs / GAs of what the roll of a GA and what they can and cant do?

Also, I think that there should be a GA Manager/Senior, that won't have more attributions nor tools than the others, but that will only make sure the GA system works properly. Like tracking their activity and making sure they don't abuse of the powers given to them. ( Is this needed ? )

UPDATES: Ill Keep an Eye on anything else said in the next few days and look over past comments and update where needed.

    IMPORTANT POSTS
. Let me know if any should be added?

    - A clear understanding for players / GMs / GAs of what the roll of a GA and what they can and cant do?

Was not completed. At this point of the trial this was missed and VERY important to the operation.

I gave up long time ago on this, I cant keep things going for ever...

@heero200 Thank you for this! Like I said, I do have access to the hidden subforums for this and was wondering exactly what the function was until I dove into it a bit further.

Skimming over this briefly, a few things stick out -

+ HIGH potential of abuse, calls of favoritism etc. And they will end up being burdened by the dramas of the respective servers they "represent" so players who participate must be fully aware of this.
+ If we award players certain special permissions we must also acknowledge that those who volunteer their time on the forums will also need to be recognized. Along with this, we want to ensure that players aren't signing up just to "gain access" to awards or compensation.
+ A players actions and the way they/speak and carry themselves will play a role in the screening process.
+ Limited power tools or creating a "mini GM console" causes serious security concerns i.e. if something breaks one update and accidentally gives these "mini GMs" full console access. Also the chances of such in-game tools are very low and would need serious sample mock-ups etc from us before moving forward IF China would like to entertain this thought. This would end up being custom content for us, unless CN has these in place in their version and we just don't know about it (?)
+ Need a "call button" of sorts - I think some players either know of a command to call me (?) or are using some sort of function because I instantly get a message that pops up with a person whispering "I'm stuck!". Wonder if we can get a command for this?
+ In game bot can set "false positives" though sophisticated bots are pretty easy to see/record.

The skeleton was set inside that sub forum and as far as I could see, started having a form set up with a specific CS person dedicated to taking the specific GA people.

Post 110 - Red chat can get spammed and someone going rouge? Even when I mess around in it, giving people a ton of access to that sounds like trouble waiting to happen. I myself have to be sparing when using it. I like the horn idea - we have some whitelist stuff that can supplement this for players so they don't need to spend actual in-game coins for this. Guilds might be tricky, considering that most players will want to keep their mains in their respective guilds. I like the idea of having their name start with GA[SuchandSuch] - it might be in our better interest to just essentially "create" accounts for players and have them noted down as GA accounts. Something to think about? I really, really want to bring chatrooming back, but I think there's a good chunk of the population that doesn't even remember it's there. There used to be factions who would leave chatrooms open for players to come in and ask for help.

Post 141 - This sort of goes back to my other points. Having in game powers like this and suddenly "breaking" or suddenly giving players access to the full console could cause serious damage. I think though this is why the GA program was bumping heads with getting done - giving non employees access to tools that employees have gets incredibly dicey. If your name is out there its either for a really good reason or a really bad reason, it's hardly shades of grey. At the same time, limiting GA essentially makes them just glorified in-game mods with no real actioning powers as well...

Post 204 - I agree with alot of the sentiments here.

Post 294 - VenusArmani was one of my fav mods when she was around. Such a shame - wish they'd come back. I think a more limited scope with assistance from a bolstered crew of GM's would do wonders as opposed to trying to pass a ton of power to the players with a smaller GM crew, if that makes sense.

If we create characters on our side to pass logins to, then we can also have it to where these "GA" flagged accounts can be in a faction together and form a guild Alliance if there are enough players and/or GM's around.
**There is a specific reason I'm suggesting in-game Alliances which will be clear in a few months!

Sorry for the wall of text, but I had a few spare moments today to dive in and take a look at this! This clarifies alot of what I was reading in that sub forum and gives context.

@kalystconquerer#0876 I did a lot more research that is not posted in this forum for what I considered security reasons and or did not want to advertise. Sorry Wall but thought to pass a few more points on from what I have learnt since...

Some of the Functions listed above are now N/A to some point. For instance reporting bots. These are Dealt with by support rather quick in tickets its just getting the necessary info together to make the report. Knowing the difference between bots is best left to CS.

HIGH potential of abuse, calls of favoritism etc Yes no way to be able to tell on that one but also the reason for the Security. The GM Console is limited in scope and you have to know a lot of controls to get it to work. A Click and Display UI would be a lot easier and more secure than the console. Thats another reason the Initial trial failed unless you can stop someone blocking you when talking to them or you have prof you are who you say you wont get any attention. On a final note of this point the Idea was a Temp Measure until a ticket can be dealt with if necessary.

When I was looking as well I saw you can have GM toons setup with different options one of them was Mute WC. Thats the idea I was going for with that. This really should report to a Full GM who can assess and action or un-mute. Failing its not resolved full WC will be granted after a period of time.

I have to be fair I miss VenusArmani as well I worked very close with her on some of that Project and from suggestion box was tug line if I had any problems. tho @sylenthunder keeps me up with things.

I think the GM system was ment to be manned 100% or near all the time from the orignal setup of the GM system. Their are no mod controls ingame or anything like it. The only pointer to this is that GMs can have different access lvs. Really and ill say It again with out some sort of UI and Unblock chat setting its not going to work easily. Possible but not easy and the whole point was sensable actions until Support can pick up on things.

I have tried and tested the whole idea of speaking to people before I would ticket and sometimes it has resolved the situation. In one instance the person did get rather abusive towards me on XNW server. CS where good on this I believe where efficient on dealing with the problem and even listened to my view on the situation.

I can see how GAs will easily become the target of unwanted attention if their identities are easily revealed. Just like another mod here had compiled complications due to their reputation as mod during a dramatic incident not long ago. I can see non stop reports of abuse of power in the future, right or wrong...

Yer I was going to say that as well in the initial bones people where saying keep toon so they could play and support. Tho the above is the leading way to different Names like our GMs have from old toon names... I get blue walled sometimes saying are you Heero from forums... Im like what forums ... LOL!

Something else I forgot was the Dev of the Game Engine would be a good opportunity to put something like this into play. The system would take months to come to us but I guess this could be sped up.

My opinion would be to get it working first on a good Warning / Ticket / Resolve Lv. But the GAs really need to be defined and players told this is happening.

agree with that. i think to protect those who offer their time in a GA program (minimize the inevitable burden of dramas of each server) it would be best to be transparent to the community about how GA's are picked and why so that the community is aware that whoever is chosen was chosen based on x, y and z proof that they are reliable, non-judgemental, fair, knowledgeable, above dramas of the server, blablabla and hopefully alleviate any aggression players might feel.

Will help if player B is arguing with their arch nemisis in "enemy faction A" one day and the next day Player B is a GA and muting player from enemy faction A xD

Good luck finding good GA's xD Will be hard to find players that everyone from a server has faith in lol.

We've lost a few good dev's through similar instances. I've still got a couple of them on Skype.
It is a really thin line to walk to keep the system in place.

As for your last comment, "Good luck finding good GA's...", that is one of the main reasons we dropped the idea last time I was talking to PWE about reviving the program.

@sensualsoul , that would require a lot more staff than PWE believes in using. You've got to remember, this is the same company that feels 20 people is enough to support 18 active game titles with player bases in the millions 24-7. Anyone in the support industry could tell you this. I know I've done the math on it before, and tbh, I don't feel like doing it again right now.

Youre right its a moot point. Pw will never hire enough manpower to run these titles to their full potential. i retract any misgivings about the ga program having more say in what community needs than the community itself because no one is around to listen to the community (well, recently weve been blessed with a very receptive employee but i have doubts they can monitor every server 24/7).... I fully support this project if its a future possibility.

heres an idea, how about just dont log on for 3-4 hrs based on the time frame that this idiot wc spammer is on for then get on, do dailies and log back off. it'll be a simple on and off but least you can dodge em if necessary. Plus i know this would be a temperary solution, but its the best one that can be used till the GMs decide to get their tails in gear and start doing something rather than keeping a game that is already dead alive and on life support. If the GMs wont do anything about this id rather suggest quitting this pathetic game and go else where.

PS, Give this game over to the 3-5 yr old kiddies who have no life at all whose only interest is bullying players and enjoying it.
