What makes Flowsilver Palace so hard?

Here is the problem. I ALWAYS tell people I am inexperienced and ask for advice. I then don't get any. Someone whispers to you somewhere along the way PURGE please. I don't see any IH icons on the boss anywhere, so I continually ask - can you tell me what ICON to purge and to date no one ever replies.
The advice on the forums, guides and youtube examples don't clear things up. When I get a few more runs with the guild, with people willing to actually help out, yeah then I'll get back into it.

Here, I made video guide as I promised (from cleric perspective), but I also tried show all buffs on bosses etc, so I hope that will help you. Leave me a comment or send me PM here if you need more info. Also any feedback or additional tips and tricks are welcomed :)

    I lost my s*** earlier.

I just don't understand, why is it so hard?

Welllllllllllllllll......... If you happen to be someone who dies often in FS, think of it this way.

    1) Can I read English?
    2) Am I wearing TT90+1?
    3) What do these shiney buttons do?
    4) I'm not sure what is going on..... I guess I'll just be quiet and learn the instance by **** something up every 10 seconds. Do you agree with this statement?

Depending on how you've answered these questions, could depend on whether or not you should be going to Flowsilver.

    Sticky?

Its been some time since I've played thanks to my computer screen dying on me, but...

1.) I don't think that this matters all that much, so long as the person is able to communicate with the squad, and can learn it in a way that doesn't hinder the squad. With English being the predominant language in this game, it does help immensely, but I personally wouldn't call it mandatory.

2.) Yeah. Gear is a factor, and before truly running Fsp, I do recommend nirvana gear. I'm full G16 myself.

3.) Not sure what shiny buttons you're talking about. I know heal, buff, purify, BB, chi spark. Guess you're talking about the axes for the toad boss? If so, then I absolutely hate when that happens. Been stuck on that boss for over an hour multiple times. b:sadb:cry
If a person does not know axes...please...PLEASE don't do them. Oh, and I hate when people try to put me on axes. Yeah, I'm healing 10 people, rebuffing as needed, and purifying. You do it.
<----Has only thrown one single axe...since the squad was set in that way and we needed it done. Beyond that, I'm not doing it.

4.) I completely disagree. I hate that. If you don't know, then say so. I openly tell people whether or not I am new to an instance, or do not know it well, so that they know and that they can teach me, or get a different cleric if they choose to.

I'll even openly say it now....

*I have not been to the updated weekly SOT since it first came out, and I was massacred with a hit that was 4x my hp.

*I have not been to the updated weekly Abba EVER...due to my complete death in SOT, I geared up, and ran a ton of warsongs to earn the G16 gear now that I have. Still highly reluctant to go there though...

*I have only been to the AEU a few times...and now that I've been away again for some time, thanks to my computer screen not working (got an external monitor now), and my college courses...I've forgotten some aspects of it, so I'll need a refresher course.

*I have not been to the second dungeon after Fsp at all.

Now, if I can openly say that on the FORUMS, then they can openly say it in a squad. No excuse there. I'd rather have a person taking it slow, and LEARNING than to have someone acting like they know what they're doing and crippling the squad.

    *long*

Gear is a no factor in a properly run FSP though, I run FS in a daily base using a 4k HP psy and never, ever, died for anything but being dumb and running to mobs, or squad-wipes.

It's just a matter of skill... sin's should use Tidal + Deaden when needed, have apo, perhaps use a cheap charm... Psy's go to White Voodoo if they struggle to survive at some point (lack of buffs perhaps?)... same to all classes.

In a full-buffed squad, having ep, bm, barb buff you nearly can't die unless you are a complete 1-shot-no-refine-alt.

Hardest classes to survive perhaps would be archer's and squishy ep's in there... LA or AA without any protection in ea's case, or with too much work to keep using self-defence skills all the time while purging, healing buffing and everything...

For the rest, really, gear is not a problem at all...

I must say my first FSP on cleric was a misclick and add to the wrong squad. I let them know I had never been and if it hadn't been for my irl hunny telling me what the boss did we would have all ended up dead so many times. But I got the cleric thing down in FSP after a few runs. I also run my mystic and veno through daily and those are ever so much easier.

I do watch the other classes and ask questions on the melee ones due to the fact I had a BM in rebirth and headed for FSP soon. Sooo today i get in BM first FSP and let them all know it was my first time on that char. I asked for Blossom boss info because I heard you cant aps her. Did I get info from the other melee people in squad?.... Nope. I knew only from previous trips how to interrupt the blossom boss and to spark in the last boss and dont get in front of toad. Good thing I pay attention.

So for all those who suggest "Say something to the squad" just here to say that don't always work. If there is a first timer in a squad while I'm on one of my arcanes in there I pm them and fill them in and help work them through the instance.

Long story short it's worth it if everyone would try to help out new comers to FSP. It will make your future runs so much nicer instead of the uneducated person continuing to run that way and **** people off cause no one bothered to take the few seconds in pm to help teach. b:cute

Not going to lie. I know how you feel. I still do suggest saying something at least, but sometimes the best that you can do is the best that you can do. I've had several squads blatantly ignore the fact that I was new, or squads where no one listened, nor tried to teach.

Better to say something to the squad, and they act like that, than to not say anything at all to the squad, and they're expecting you to know, and rightly assuming that the player does.

I definitely agree with you saying that it only takes a few seconds in squad to pm a person, and teach them along the way. I even get enjoyment out of doing so. b:victory

A close second is DDs (namely, well geared ones) who don't understand how to control their damage or that they even need to at all. I used to help random squads in world chat on my barb when they couldn't find one for toad. Before every toad run I warn people that my weapon may not be as good as theirs, and that even despite my best barb aggro efforts, they may very likely steal aggro if they don't control themselves.

That one is something that's a huge pet peeve for me as well. They don't realise they can actually stop dd'ing mid-battle for barb to regain aggro...
Any DD-class that has done bh's, fc's or whatever squad-run that's for their levels was right knows that overdd'ing = death, or even squadwipes. They act as if they must attack right from the beginning or else they die irl or something. Barbs have to deal as much with aggro-control as any other DD-class.

Though all classes hab to monitor their aggro. If you get aggro from Toad, stop hitting it, move to where the barb is and wait for him to retake aggro. If that get's you killed from the onehit attack, that's your own fault for over-dd'ing and having the entire squad wait on your ***.

I am one of those people who does not control agro b:victory. The dragon boss is not an issue, just have to move it around.

At toad boss i switch to my aps set up and debuff boss. Not going to tank that dude.

The lady in the next room i can tank with bp returns only.

I can tank last boss as well, but when he goes hysterical i die. So i stop my dd way before, and let the barb tank it.

Only reason why i can tank over barb is mostly because of debuffs piled on. One time the squad was not debuffing boss, i could not get agro.

This was actually a thing in BHs a year+ ago. Some sins would continuously spark attack and eventually take agro from the barb, then proceed to get nailed as the boss just chews them up and spits them out. Then the slow channeling and in-experienced cleric has to multi-task healing the barb and res'ing the dead DD.

Around 2010 when I was still 70-80 and BH59 was something being done all the time, the smart DDs knew to save their spark attacks mid-way through boss, or even just wait a few seconds after the start.
