A Puppy Dies Every Time...

And I chose to be Demon 3 years ago when everyone was going Sage on their wizzies purely because I wanted to be a unique and special little snowflake. There's no fun in blindly following someone else's advice instead of actually experimenting with builds and playstyles of your own. That said, I genuinely enjoy playing as a Demon wizard, even with all the problems it comes with.
Being that this is a forum rather than a government (nobody rules.. it is merely a place for discussion) I find it hard to relate to what you are saying. And are you implying that sage wizards are somehow less competent than demon wizards?Youtube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

Sage wellspring quaff gives a near-insignifcant damage boost. (It does give a significant channeling boost for demons, though, if you're a channeling build)
As a sage you have 3 options for skills that will give you damage boosts for 1 spark, the single spark that you got at level 29, wellspring surge, and manifest virtue.
I'll use my damage as an example:
My base, with cleric buffs, is 19414-21796
With single spark, I get 24598-27616 (10 second buff)-admittedly this does take a second to cast
With wellspring buff, 22006-24706 (15 second buff)
With manifest virtue (assuming wellspring is already on to increase max mp) 24157-27121 (30 second buff) This damage would increase with full r9r3 due to the large jump in magic
While wellspring does have the advantage of being an instant cast, and less likely to draw attention, the magic attack gained from it isn't very large, and I honestly think the demon reduction in channeling is more significant.xSonOfCircex-105/103/102 Sage Wiz

I don't see where I ever imply that Sage wizards are less competent than Demon wizards. But I do run into a lot of wizards who seem to be alts, and people play them like monkeys banging on the keyboard. They're not really producing Shakespeare. More like some Fifty Shades of Grey. And most often, such wizards are Sage. I will freely admit that there are wizards out there that frankly make me ashamed to be a Demon, though.

You definitely imply that sage wizards should not be telling demon mages how to play, then say that sage wizards are ruling something (presumably in game or forums?) by mob rule, and then change the last statement to say that it is not mob rule, it is rule of the least qualified. I was/am just trying to understand what exactly you are trying to say, because what I'm taking from it seems pretty silly.
@Enemy - While I was writing the earlier post I was thinking to myself how funny it'd be if you read that.. hahahaYoutube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

But, as I have said, my second statement is made null by my third, which does not specify that Sage wizards are the ones ruling. Bad advice is universal.
And I don't see why Sage wizards should be telling Demon wizards how to play. While there are definitely similarities, the two different cultivations suit different playstyles, and people have the right to play how they want without harassment.

If all you were trying to get across is that those that are not knowledgeable shouldn't be offering advice, I 100% agree with you (although I don't think that you articulated that thought very clearly). Nobody should be harassing or demanding someone else play a certain way, but the forums are certainly a place to offer or seek out advice.. and there is no reason to limit that discourse to only between those that play the exact same class and cultivation (heck some of the best advice I've been given came from people that didn't even play a wizard :P).Youtube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

I once asked about the number of uncannies required to manufacture a 2nd cast NV chest, and in return got a rant about how I should totally gear for -chan and ignore everything else. From a BM who sounded like he'd never even talked to a wizard before, let alone actually played one.
And while I do agree that limiting advice exchange between people who only play the same class/cultivation is silly, there are a lot of people who don't know how to play their class, or another, at all, and yet offer advice like theirs is the only authority on it(*coughPandoracoughyesIknowthatisadated examplecough*). The worst part is when people actually agree with them and then you get masses of idiots blindly following dumb advice running around, mocking other people who actually attempt to experiment around with different builds and playstyles.0
