I just wanted to ask how's the activity on yours server since the FC change, in my POV it's been a lot deader than before it. Maybe it's the adjusting period or maybe too much time has passed for this change to now be implemented. I'm on Raging Tide btw

A lot "deader" because people aren't dragging alts through FCC and actually doing quests? Nah, go away.

On lost city more people are questing and I've seen fb and hh party world chats, also a zhen party on fish near frost. Low level bhs have picked up also

I'm actually seeing runs for Bh39-89. I got on and for once instead of having to solo 79/89 myself, I managed to get a squad together in less than 15 minutes.

People are WC'ing for Nix valley runs, and some of us are even doing Alpha's. (Completed a full run yesterday, and could have leveled my toon 3 times in the one run if it weren't for feeding my genie.)

Seeing a dramatic increase in the number of WC's for PV runs. (On my 54 Cleric i have for Alpha, just the first room in PV can level me once without feeding the genie. If I didn't feed the genie I could walk in at 54, and walk out at 57 easily.)

Not having much trouble forming squads again, and a lot of the hyper noobs I'm familiar with are strangely missing in action. This creates for a much more enjoyable gaming experience. I have actually played PWI more this weekend than Skyrim, which is saying something lately.

So basically, "killing" FCC has had a very huge, and very positive impact on the server.

When flying around for WQ I actually noticed lower levels questing, especially around Dreaming Cloud, and even a few level 5/6x pking each other xD Also noticed lower level BHs/PVs being advertised on WC, which is nice to see for a change.

Well WC was quieter as all the FF spam was gone.

To be replaced any people whipping out their "I remember what the game was like before _____, and gold cost 30k" and so on.

One person was wcing for FB help and taking great care to let everyone know what an honor and a privilege it was to have them grace you with their presence and precious time to help you poor poor noobs do you FBs now that you can's plvl.

Then they professed confusion and dismay that no noobs wanted help with their FBs.

Two things here. First, most people that NEED their FBs done have no problem getting them done, they have friends, or they find people on their own. They don't wait around hoping that some psuedo-magnanimous, chest-thumping, barb on a nostalgia trip WCs asking for noobs to drag through their FBs.

Oh and calling people noobs typically doesn't get you a lot of positive feedback.

Secondly, due to plvling and the lack of new players for the most part, there aren't that many people out there that even bother to do their quests until they hit 100 in a day or two. That may change with the current FF hyper situation, but I doubt it. They will just go play something else they can get to end game by skipping all the content, if there ARE any games like that besides PWI.

As for actual activity on the server, I'd say that there are more people standing around arch not doing anything than I remember. That is pretty neutral.

I DO see waaaaay more bots out killing Goothes the last few days. Claw BMs that just run to the closest mob and auto attack, ignoring drops because their bag is full. You can go there for an hour and they will be there. You leave and come back 3 hours later, 8 hours later, 2 weeks later, same toons, same spots, auto attacking in the same predictable manner, never replying to anything you say or do.

BMs that were actually grinding would probably, idk, speed around gathering up mobs and aoe them. They probably wouldn't act like someone equipped an auto recovery stone then taped down tab and F1 and walked away.

Was me, a Mystic, and 4 archers, so not exactly "all" archers, but damn near. Went really well. It also proves that you don't "need" a specific class to complete a run. We didn't need a BM, or a Barb, or a Sin, and we didn't have their buffs either.

The main point is, forming a squad to do the run wasn't hard. We had a blast. And getting it set up wasn't difficult, we just took the first people that responded.

Kinda the opposite on my server.

If you ain't an apser, veno or cleric WS is closed for you mostly. They turned WS into the new nirv and those who were trying to form a ''normal'' WS squad gets a really hard time

On Lost City server people did more quests since they increased the coin rewards. And even before I always saw ppl doing quests. My wife e.g. lvld a mage (lvl 74 atm) and got always help/squad at mini bosses before I was there. It was like this a month ago, 3months ago and more than half year ago. Some freaks just permanently complain in forum (and when you are busy with trash talking in wc you also won't see gamers ofc).

On our server I see just more rpk atm (high lvls/better geared ppl which are looking for a safe kill for kill count or just to annoy others). Which will force gamers to stop doing quests again. Good job. After that you can of course complain in forum that you see less toons in world.

Fist 1-3 years (I'm here since beta) we had barely rpk (I got attacked maybe 1-2x per month or less). People which rpked didn't get squad invites anymore and all rpk factions got killed almost instantly. There was something like pride and modesty. Many of those people which had respect for each other left the game over the years for a reason. And now the kiddies (or even the older ones with a behaviour/intelligence of a 5 year old complain that so many of those people left. This was YOUR faut! Be proud of it.

Yes, Sadly this is why Lost City is one of the dying servers. I quit playing there a long time ago because high levels would just camp the city exits and you couldn't do anything unless you had a squad of high levels supporting you.

Originally it was great. there wasn't a lot of RPK, and people had respect for one another. It was also rare for a high level to gank a low level. Unfortunately, this is not the quality of players that are bred with the hyper-leveling and pay-to-win system.

Some people in Sanctuary have just given up on leveling, as most of them don't even know what PV is; When I started a PV 95+ Squad, I had around 10 pms asking what PV was and how to do it. *Facepalm*. It's been really hard to level, as no-one wants to PV apart from a few.

This is what I'm talking about my new alt isn't finding players my level to do my Bhs I'm getting some bored high level who tells me just follow and watch. Thats just stealing away my enjoyment of the game anyways and feeding their ego by me saying "wow aren't you awesome" .

Also I have asked a few High levels other than their Bhs and going a few FWS runs what else they do most just stand in one place and chat whole time after that.

So really you can't blame FC if years have passed and the people playing have adapted to that method of leveling.

And seriously if it's your 4th alt are you REALLY willing to go over all that same questing line over again just for the sake of it being a "new class you're playing".

Honestly learning your toon just simply requires one to read the skill details and knowing how to manage aggro. It's a no brainer that obviously as you level you get gears that are closest to you levels.

( My first char I quested for the gaming experience took me about a year my other 2 alts I power leveled because some Instances my main WASN'T GETTING TAKEN so I made those classes, I didn't have a year to waste questing on them sorry and I play all 3 just fine)

I was pleasantly surprised this week by the number of BH squads I saw. I usually make all of my own every day, but there were so many in chat I was able to join quite a few. In the case of BH100 this was partly due to less people running Warsong also, but it was still refreshing. Especially the amount of lower level BHs I saw.

Also saw a lot of people in questing zones which was nice. Didn't see as many PV squads on world chat as I expected.

And these are the people that really know how to play the game... These are the people that even the R9+ could learn from... Throw a squad together, and adjust your playstyle to the squad composition... that is the way to go... Thank God there are still people that know how to do this... b:victory

Exactly! This is a big factor that has played into the game's mechanics in the last few years. So many people expect that they should be able to skip quests & content, hyper to end-game, and buy gear/refines/shards. And ya know what? They can. This naturally breeds players that are like what we see so much on HT, as well. Not many of us remain from beta, and even fewer are sane and kind people.

The game supports buying anything you want without doing much work for it. It's a silly concept, by a company who is begging for some real life coins. This concept only works so long, before most of the free players leave, and the remaining gap between free players and cash shoppers is so extreme that no one has fun anymore.

I've seen about ten games in my life time that ended in a fate of being closed/shut down, because of the above. It's unfortunate, but it happens frequently because companies want that quick cash.

All for a quick victory. A light that burns twice as bright lasts half as long. People who powerlevel skipping almost all the content in between are those that are 10x with cash shopped gear complaining about how bored they are with the game. I knew this was going to happen the moment they enabled hyperleveling in frost.

It's no wonder populations are dwindling on the servers when the game allows new players and those creating new chars to skip 95% of the game to get to the end. Funny how the safest places to be on my PvP server now were once RPK hotspots when I was running normal quests 4 years ago mainly because nobody is out there anymore.

Well, there are more world chats for low level BHs which is good. I went up to snowy village to see if anyone was there...completely empty. Arch is about the same as far as people standing around, except for the middle platform that has way more people because of bh. A lot more people doing MQ also. Normally its only like me, my in-game hubby, and one other couple there.

I think this is an improvement. People are being forced to play the game as it was intended to be played. Honestly if you don't want to play the entire game will all its content, why play? I guess its the same mentality as buy a game, use a cheat code to get to the end of game, beat the end boss, and done. Of course you are going to be bored if that is the way you play. You skipped all the content!

As for people saying "quests are boring"...like going in FC and shooting heads 100+ times is more entertaining. It's the same instance over and over...if that isn't boring idk what is. Atleast quests have some variation as far as mobs and where you are killing them. Im happy to see people questing again.

Yeah I seriously don't get what is going through their heads! Leaving it off would satisfy the people over reactivating it back to normal.

    Regarding the FCC issue:
    - I'm seeing a lot of support to keep this change, or at least to have a modified version. Since it's on the table, I'll see if we can start discussing possible alternatives, such as setting a level limit, or a hyper exp lvl requirement for FCC. I cannot promise that we'll be able to get this fixed, let alone to everyone's satisfaction, but we'll do our best.

    [UPDATE - 3-21-2013]

    FCC issue
    - Devs are going to reverse this change, thereby re-enabling hyper-exp in FCC, so hopefully we'll have this fixed with our next maintenance.
    - Regarding alternative "solutions," such as a level cap - I think we need to continue discussing this over a longer period of time. But for now, we're going to try to revert this change ASAP and re-enable hyper exp in FCC.
