You guys, please don't get these poor people's legitimate suggestion and plan depthed into nowhere >: Move to the Counting or Zheii threads or something, those already belong to us to do whatever with basically.

As for bmys, I haven't played one but I'm very partial to them since one of my good friends in-game is a bmy He has like four of them or something. And something he's done is made all-path bms, ones that could have a stat build to use all different weapon types effectiveily, and thus be able to use most of their skills freely by having weapon changes in the skillbars. And claws for the most part were used for 1v1 damage on mobs and axes(duh obvious to bms sorry 'xD) for AoE as primary weapons, if I remember right... It's a lil' expensive but good for if a bmy is your main, so maybe concentrating on letting more bmys know about an all-path way could be a good move? !

Got a bunch of posts dating back from 2009 in the forum, going in-depth in many areas about it already. Also have stickies at the top that go over those in-depth posts in a summarized version easier to understand.

But the sad fact is, as the gear is going up the use of all path BM is going down. With TT/FCC/Lunar as max gear, all path was great. All 4 paths had Sac Strike as a possible add, with relatively similar refines. Attaining the weapons was reasonably possible with even minimum farming of mats to make or merchant for buying them. And so the different paths were able to have their uses shine in different moments.

The problem is now though. The over-gear of even Nirvy vs. PvE has rendered the use of MSS to basically be a ranged stun that costs too much. GS may be nice, but there isn't too much point in a high refined spear for killing things, when you have either fists or R9 axes that will do so much more. So for both PvE and PvP, it is forcing it to be more a 2 path field, that will likely become 1 path if current trends continue. Which kills alot of the fun that BMs used to be.

That's really a shame that all-path is being chased away though, that really does sound like it'd be the most fun part of a bmy Like at one point I thought of making one, and since I like 'weird' classes, the only thing that kept me absorbed into the idea for like three days('xD Pretty much all my character ideas fail....) was the multi-weapon training p-p

The only thing I can honestly see bringing back the all weapon path to its old usefulness, is if they either: A. Allowed BMs to get R8 of all the different weapons, instead of just one. Or:

B. Having newer weapons have the ability to modify old skills as an add instead of typical ATK lvl/Sac Strike/etc. Done right, the novelty alone could rekindle interest. And if they make the modifiers actually useful, some skills we would never bother using could suddenly be worthwhile without shifting earlier balance.

I think I like B more, because they'd have better control of any changes not adversely affecting future gear updates. If you change the weapon, you lose the modifier. If the modifier is balanced both currently, and in regards to the new set, it can be included as a possible add in the future. Another nice benefit is further customization of personal playstyles by the type of modifier(s) the BM prefers to use.

It could even see use in changing rank gear as well. Instead of defense procs able to be spammed, they could be linked to automatically activate a defense skill available, at the cost of increasing the CD of the skill. So Purify would auto-cast on a cleric, but the actual cleric skill Purify would go into CD with a 5 seconds penalty or something. Wizzies would auto-blink out, and so on. Or even have where they have modify skills to change X skill to have stun immune as an extra modifier.

Dunno how much difficulty it would be to implement, but I'd find it entertaining enough that even some PvE might not be so boring anymore. And PvP would get a whole new layer of complexity for added fun.

No. Gear won't do it.

You use skills for the following:

Do damage
Increase your ability to do damage
AOE
CC (Crowd Control)
Defensive skills (not as priority)

Quick and fast analysis compared to axe skills with R9 GoF:

Sword:
Mage Bane - Bad damage, 8 seconds not long enough for one target. If it didnt cost a spark, I could see it being used.
Spirit Chaser - Bad damage, single target. If it was multi target or did way more damage, could be useable.
Atmos Strike - Again, bad damage, single target
MSS - Good damage, but again the proc for 15 seconds resulting in lower damage is meh compared to 9 seconds of DEAD and people don't run if they're MSS'ed.

Pole:
Piercing Winds - Outdone by Flame Tsunami for less chi. Bleed effects are pretty much worthless in PvP.
Farstrike - Bad damage, single target. If it was multi target or did way more damage, could be useable.
Meteor Rush - Bad damage again. With GoF on a grade 15 pole it still wouldn't be worth it because you're missing the attack levels from R9. Outdone by Flame Tsunami even if you take demon proc into account.
Glacial Spike - At best, something to combo HF with. HF is still better - and HF is ranged.

So really, what they'd have to do is up the damage so it is comparable to what axes can do with general skills, make them more AOE worthy, add a worthy CC (more chance of stun, make them seal or immobilize, etc), create some longer lasting damage add on to yourself (Crit chance, etc), or create a longer lasting defensive buff.
