I won't say it's a bunch of idiots that don't know how to play, but they are how to say... conservative? The newest class are not loved, if you are a mystic on a other server you are pretty much a support healer or stay in your corner and NV over and over again, if you use GF in GV you will be call the most fail mystic they ever saw.

But no worry PVE servers we have our idiots too on PVP.

I was in a GV last week, I was on my cleric and we had a mystic in our squad, the 5 first minutes she was dropping vital herb and healing herb + comforting mist, so I needed to tell to stop to heal and to DD, no one will take a mystic to support heal in GV (main healer maybe, but not as second healer).

Than she started to NV+AS.... over and over again....

I told her to use mistress on AOE, she said she don't use summon cause it cost too much mp (/facepalm) than she call me a idiot saying her mistress was lvl10 and mistress doesn't have AOE skill at lvl 10.... (/facepalm x 1 000 000)

Than I tried to explain her that:

#1: Mistress have AOE since lvl 1, no need lvl 11.
#2: People take DD for AOE in GV not to single target mobs one by one.
#3: To don't use healing/vital herb in GV when there's a cleric.

Of course she said ''you are a cleric you don't know my class'' (I have a main mystic 102 I do know what I'm talking about) and told me her faction told her she's pro. (LOL)

The other 4 persons pmed me after the BH telling me ''wow mystics suck in GV'' and I was ''no, mystics don't suck, she suck and don't know her class'', which give us a bad reputation.

I think there's a LOT of work to do to make mystic accepted, but when we got idiot like that one it's hard to convince the rest of the world that mystic is a great class.

I agree with the mentality part. But honestly, I think storm mistress is a pathetic aoe DD. I find this more useful in a GV's sense:

- Leech Chiyu (grants 40% crit rate to myself personally)
- Heal once/twice for more chi (I'm demon so I get 3 sparks extremely fast)
- Demon spark
- Gale Force

Then, I summon another Chiyu and either heal the tanker if necessary or drop a spidervine plant and lysing then continually gale force. Leech Chiyu for more crit rate, spidervine, lysing, gale force and repeat.

The reason why I do this is because the critical chance + demon dg is much more effective than having your storm mistress hit 7k-9k on multiple mobs while you NV a single target. One of the perks of being a demon mystic is that chi is literally nothing to me, due to break in the clouds chi proc and also summoning pets give me a **** ton of chi as well.

But anyways, yea our mystics do suck and gives us a bad reputation. Even the best geared mystic on the server (not gonna name) is lacking in the skill department. Actually now that I think about it, that's why I'm hate targetted during nation wars cuz players just assume I'l be squishy and useless. But a majority end up getting stunlocked the **** out of them, slept and silenced repeatedly.

I have lucky break so I don't need to waste a spark on leech, I spark+lucky break+GF and everything is dead if the BM DG. It's why I use mistress on AOE.

You should do culti lucky break is freaking awesome to have.

And ye in NW I see I don't know how many mystics that NV on me from the air non-stop... they don't even use AS...

I can probably count on one hand HL good mystics. xD

Maybe thats a good way to put it, idk. Its like the same mentality that says a good squad HAS to have a Barb, Cleric and BM standard. Some people even get so picky that they select even the DDs specificly. I havent seen it much lately (not that I have been playing a whole lot recently), but on my server you used to see people requiring R9 for simple BHs. If Conservative = Snob, then maybe its perfect, lol. I could only think they must stink at playing their classes if they need to make sure everyone is R9 for a silly BH. *shrugs*

When I first got the level to run with the mainstream players, the barb in my squad told me NOT to DD (which made no sense to me) because Mystics were only good for being secondary healers, and he knew, cause he had one. My reply was, if thats true why are most of my spells/summons DD related? lol.

Even in this forum over the past couple years everyone always upheld that the BMs debuffs are superior to our own, and since ours overwrite theirs, we shouldnt use them. Has that changed?

The only time I will use plants with a BM in the squad is when they are NOT using their stuff.

Honestly, Chevalier, my server is full of old school players that are set in their ways. That is sub-divided into the R9's and the non-R9s. I dont think very many new players have come into the game in the past year. All the starter cities are empty, except for the occasional 'new alt'. Places that were teaming with new players a year ago, like Tusk Town, are now ghost towns. The new players I leveled up with didnt have the issues with accepting Mystics that the old schoolers did/do. Unfortunately, most of them no longer play either.

Currently, there is a trend for all the old schoolers to make Mystics. They power-level, then go back and try to get their cultis done. At what point they stop and learn to actually play the char well, I have no idea. Idk about any other class, but compared to say a Sin, the Mystic is not a 'face roll' char. You have to constantly think to play it well, imho.

Ok, maybe a bm's "debuffs" is better than a mystics (not an expert on this). But one thing I do know is, there should NEVER be a time that a bm should not be in axe form. DG, stun, aoe DD, all the "pro" bm's in my server would never switch to other forms to debuffs unless it's for chi or single target DD.

Also, the topic about old school players being traditional...times have changed. There is honestly no need for the requirement of complicated and intricate PVE techniques other than maybe making the run a little bit faster. Even PVP's requirements has dwindled as almost all players rely on antistun-> ironguard now. But, I guess as a PVE server people are so bored fighting "stupid" mobs they rely on thinking about proper roles for each class that would make the run....even 30 seconds faster lol.

P.S. I do agree mystics should not even bother DD-ing compared to the amount of damage sins do (I have a 5 aps +10 myself). That's where demon mystics, like myself, would utilize thicket's damage increase efficiently and cragglord during DG lol. If you're wondering why on earth would I use a cragglord, it's because I have an OP 110 dex genie with Spark

Bella, that's my mission this summer. As of right now I'm busy working towards my uni graduation this May. I'm even writing this at school lol.

I would never say a Mystic shouldn't DD with any char in their squad, unless that char is such a wonderful DD that you dont have enough time to get anything going, cause he's already killed everything, lol.

The only reason I would wonder about your using Cragglord, is because you say you are Demon. We had a thread a while back (maybe a troll thread) where all the Demon mystics were posting how much Cragglord is useless to them, lol. Some claiming they never bothered to take it above level 1.

Also, by 'face roll' char, I mean like they used to say in another game I used to play about the Palladin char in that game - one you play by laying your face on your keyboard and rolling it back and forth. b:chuckle

My frame of reference to a Sin personally is one I made to farm low level mats. I think she's level 40, lol. In comparision, I dont really need to use my brain at all to play her well enough, where as I always had to think about what Im doing when playing my Mystic.

P.S. You know what's funny about specialised squads? Its not the few seconds they save by making the squads - but the amount of time and teles they waste getting the squad together in the first place. xD
