They haven't frequently forgot to put in orders. It's been maybe 3-4 times total? Out of 4 years that's not bad. Put things in relative terms.

I`m speaking with sense of how I believe one should regard ones job. I got nothing personal against Frankie but judging his efforts this past week, I`d never hire him for anything and I cant really understand how he is keeping his job. He isnt even doing his job in halfassed manner that might get one fired, he`s completely ignoring it. Least I suspect it`s his job to keep community in the loop as Community manager. We are not asking for much, we asking literally a work of 5 minutes, write a sticky bout when 2x starts, what else there is to the anni and how long these things will last.

Ps. What some people completely ignore is how this game is a business and the staff is paid for, discounting mods. I dont find it at all spoiled to ask staff to treat it as a business and not some hobby.

Think of PWE as a very busy steakhouse. And each table represents a different thing that PWE staff have to take care of. The staff are the are the staff of the restaurant. Now let's say our Anniversary is the house special. Among all the other "customers" that the staff had to take care of the order was never put in. (The no announcements originally etc) They then put in the order and apologized to us. Now while the order is prepped and made the waiters don't sit around at your every beckon they go to other tables(tasks) and take care of those. Expecting them to come to your every whim is foolish.

This is how I see it. Now for all we know they could be doing something ADDITIONALLY for us for the **** up that we don't know about that they DIDN'T have to do at all. And I'll bet everyone will take it for granted like usual.

It's more like you get in and put in your order at said steakhouse. After an hour they see you waiting there and realize they made a mistake and put your order in. You ask for some water and they never come back. And you're left to wait a while longer for your steak. And you ordered a huge special that's supposed to come with the singing birthday people or something. It's supposed to be a big deal night and it's ruined because the wait staff isn't even bothering with you. Refilling your water while you wait (making a news post) isn't so much to ask and if they didn't even do that I don't know why anyone would even want to eat at that steak house.

Base Wars took 4 months after the initial promise to email the staff and fight out what happened to them. Frankie had to be reminded to do followup. He then found they had been cancelled, even though people had been buying them for months. Bases aren't exactly inexpensive either. No refunds were given.


Name Censorship- PWI skipped maintenance after the censorship issue and had to be called on by the playerbase to answer as to why the issue wasn't being fixed. Forget why it hadn't, but he finally gave more details in a thread I had made asking for emergency maintenance.

Password Reset Compensation was promised, and then asked about again months later. I don't recall if the GMs ever answered that thread.


DDOs compensation. After a string of bad DDos attacks they turned on 2x for a weekend I believe. And then promised that there would be more compensation than just the 2x because of how nasty and how long the attack problem took the fix. Several weeks later, a couple of months I believe, they were asked about what had ever happened to it. Frankie admitted to not even knowing that the compensation hadn't ever been given out. And then just turned on some 2x even though he specially said it wouldn't just be 2x. I mean they coulda sent out some maiden kissed chests or something.

Goon Glitch-was talked about weeks, GMs took days to respond to the obviously game breaking glitch. They said they were monitoring the situation the whole time, and promised bans. When it finally gets resolved, turns out that hadn't really been monitoring anything. Also in that thread they admitted they could have just turned off hypers in FC or shut down FC completely without hurting the rest of the game, but didn't want to because it was popular. Even months later.

Dreamweaver down. Way back a few months ago the Dreamweaver server was down for a couple of hours in the morning. Before the GMs came online, so people were locked out for a few hours. They decided to put on 2x for the people that were compensated, and did so a few hours later. After all the people who were actually affected had probably already logged for the day in frustration. So the only people compensated were people who weren't really affected at all.

There are more that I'm sure others can fill any for me, but that's the ones I can think off the top of my head.

The Duke Rose glitch - they did pull down the servers and remove it from the boutique after several hours to stop it, HOWEVER they never removed the massive amounts of coin that were put into circulation by it

The rank 8 recast soulsphere glitch - it did eventually get fixed, but only AFTER someone on the forums posted an unauthorized fix

It took how long for tideborns to get 79/100 skills? and how long for earthguards to get r9? Until the got it, the only answer anyone got was......"SOON"

The rebirth delta glitch(es) - they fixed (after 3? years) the 1k glitch from delta, but only after breaking it even more by causing the entire thing to fail if you left the instance to go fetch the person in 1k...and now I've seen it take squads 5-6 tries before all of them can actually get in without being dc'd

TW bid refunds - as of now some people are getting and them and some aren't - if there has been any kind of update on this from PWE, I haven't seen it

Rank 8 recast mats being bound - no explanation whatsoever

The chests people were supposed to get when they bought rep and didn't get and the people that got 1000s more than they were supposed to get....I know in my faction there are still people waiting for their chests

I specifically avoided things like glitch fixes because those aren't PWI's fault. That's the devs and it sucks, but PWI does what it can for anything major the devs screwup. DQ points and TW refunds being two examples. I was thinking more along the lines of failures to communicate properly. For example, the goon glitch was bad enough for being possible and widespread. But they acted slowly with the bans, and failed utterly to properly inform the playerbase. TW bids, and Rank 8 soulsphere, and glitched chest promotions definitely count towards that list though.

Thought of more though:

PVP kills. What is going on with that? Why is the thread still stickied?

The MMOsite contest for screenshots. It took them a while to deliver the codes for the items to MMOsite. I personally bugged them a lot over it. Several weeks went by before a winner was announced. MMOsite dropped the ball too and sat on the codes for a couple of days. But PWI sure took it's sweet time sending out the codes for the prizes in the first place, after advertising the independent websites contest in the first place.

Deciding to host a winter screenshot contest at a time where any player could recognize that the screenshot wouldn't be actually seen during the winter.

Whenever they have an art contest they fail to meet the deadlines the post about how long it will take to upload. In some cases they have even only updated entries to be seen after the contest is over, leading the player to wonder whether or not their entry was even counted.

Speaking of contests, when they had that character contest. And picked the most recent visible posts as the winner, even going so far as to pick a person who was the last person to post and only changed the hair color of a preset AND had entered late. Most unique character indeed.

The ini editing rule, they said they'd look into a while ago. Still no word. And it was months prior to that they even admitted that the only reason it exists is because they are choosing a very strict interpretation of their TOS lines and they'd like to reword to make it okay. They even admitted it was completely harmless and a huge waste of GM resources and that they want the rule to change. They just clearly have never made it a priority to change it.

I was more under the impression that Frankie only gets to tell us what his superiors say he can tell us. If that is indeed the case, then keeping his mouth shut is the reason he keeps his job, and with the current state of the economy, if I were in his shoes, I'd keep my mouth shut too.

He tells us, on an forum post bout 2x and when, when people complained it long enough. If he was silent because of his job, he wouldnt of given us that information. Anybody with half a brain would of made announcement over it so people could actually find the information, not be forced to dig these damn forums for a basically random post. Your excuse would of been logical if he had not given us any information, in truth he did, simply in quite halfassed manner.

Edit: And we got 2x with no announcement bout it, you seriously think his supervisors wouldnt let him announce an event that has, in fact, already started?

Let me ask you, if he basically needs permission to lift his finger or ask everything bout his supervisor, why would he ever be hired? Like, what would his purpose be in such scenario? I myself would of be more prone to believe PWE would of just saved his wage instead of paying him for nothing.

PWE's fault in that lies in choosing to, for the most part, act like the problem isnt there. Even if they can't fix it, they can do what they can to keep the community informed. As community manager, I especially expect that of Frankie. Its like pulling teeth to get ANY kind of information out of anyone associated with PWE anymore, and that is not acceptable and what I think most people have a problem with.

He's the bearer of bad news (more often than good news). He tells us the stuff that we don't want to hear, and puts up with the insults forum goers sling his way. Essentially, PWE's whipping boy.

This is, of course, only true if the previous assumptions are correct.

this is starting to look like the x-mass **** up hope i'm wrong but i don't think anything is going to happen or if it does just a sad copy of last couple years events. I'm thinking of trying other games after 3 plus years and a lot of investing in my char sometimes you just have to cut your losses if I stay I'm not spending another penny till PWI shows it's invested in us as much as we are invested in their game. b:bye
