Hi everyone,
While it is true that the 8 hour timer system is in place, I just wanted to alleviate your concerns and confirm that the system is disabled for our version of the game.
We didn't think it was beneficial for you guys so we requested to turn it off for our version. As far as I know, it shouldn't be on, so please let us know if it ever becomes an issue.

You make it sound like EVERYTHING got screwed over. Do you even know how long the average player is killing something with that low of a grade of DQ before they outgrow that level range? Maybe a week.....
No everything didn't get screwed over I just don't see the purpose of nerfing low lvl dq's and I don't understand why your defending it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

It was nerfed because of the vast amount of veno bots on the other servers. (besides ours) Unfortunately I don't think we could NOT implement it so they gave an alternative by boosting quest rewards.[SIGPIC]http://i48.tinypic.com/2r61kw3.jpg[/SIGPIC]

If you had read our earlier posts about this, or any of the earlier threads about nerfing DQ prices, you would know exactly why it happened, what the reasons were, and why we can't do anything about it.
We get DQ points now because of the last nerf. It's our little bonus for the 5% drop in DQ prices across the board. (One of the earlier attempts to fight the botters.)
Now, the low level DQ Items sell for only 1 coin. (Again, this was done by PW-CN to circumvent the bot problem that they have, and since our core game files are exactly the same as theirs, we get it too.) Because those levels of mobs are pretty easy to farm, they are the prime income for botters.
You still get DQ points for the items you sell, and if you really want to make money off the drops, set up a catshop. Loads of people will pay high prices just to get some DQ points.
That's the purpose for nerfing the NPC price on those items. It's been said many times before, and now I've just said it again because you apparently don't really read the threads.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

No apparently you haven't read my posts I do understand about the bot's but that isn't on our version we didn't add the 8 hour timer so I don't see why they couldn't leave out the dq nerf as well. I know our version can have different things tha nthe CN version we had different things changed on our version before. Anyway, seeing as how These small changes didn't make it into the blue UI, I don't think we will see an 8 hour farming limit at all, at least not any time reasonably soon.
^ woot, old UI rocks b:dirty i hate big screen and that "lovely" deadzone on upper right.
anyway, I tried to make a new char and in less that 3 hours I got myself to lv30 & 200k coins without any fc or whatsoever, just get the multiple 5 level quest and lucid quest, with tons of quests left, and if I finish them all I will get to lv40+ quick bcos they also nerfed the needed mob for low level. I dont understand the fuzziness about DQ21 & DQ31....
if u rly want to farm low-level mats, then just get over to lv40 and farm lv40ish mats, u will get DQ41 which is not nerfed = profit??
why u so fall in love with 20ish and 30ish mats anyway b:question[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I'm on Heavens Tear!0 -
Yea, they really made it easy for low levels now. They reduced number of mobs/drops needed to finish quests and those quests give more coins now.
It's really easy to level to 40 now, with all those new rewards from lucid and questmaster.0 -

New PC Builds can cost as little as 500 USD just for the case and a half decent graphics card
Hell, gaming laptops cost sometimes 600 USD these days, if you're looking correctly and come with the GTX 5XX series cards or the ATI Radeon 4XXX or 5XXX series cards. Don't know why anyone in this day and age wouldn't buy a laptop without a 3D accelerator card (Although I have seen the Intel HD 6000 run some fairly heavy engines like Crytek.)
Suppose it must be students at colleges. The other interesting thing is that a lot of MMORPGs from the asianatic regions will run on even some of the lowest hardware avaliable. It is very interesting isn't it because in Korea they have PC "Bangs" where people go to hang out.

If you know how to shop, you can build an upper-end gaming rig for about $500-700 USD.
If you just want something that's marginally good with games and are on a budget, you can find decent PC's at Walmart, hell even Home Depot has good deals sometimes. Or you can build your own, but for a mid-range system, it's not much more to go all out.
I got yelled at for saying people were too cheap to purchase/upgrade their system over a span of 10 years.
It's just common sense. Computers have become a large part of our lives. If you just save a few dollars a week, you'll have enough for a new system in just a few months. Enough for an upgrade even sooner.
If you aren't making enough to be able to spare a little on the side to put toward upgrading, you shouldn't be wasting your valuable time playing a game.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

hi Sylen,
I cant afford a new computer, mine is 3 years old. So what your saying because of that I shouldnt be playing PWI?
Its called having higher priorites in your life. I play this game because I enjoy it, not because I have the latest and fastest computer.0 -

No, that's not what I'm saying. My PC is 5 years old, but it still keeps up. I know that it's at the end of it's lifecycle though, so I'm saving a little aside so that I can to build a new one. I'm saving because I know I can't afford one, but if I want to keep playing the games I like to play, it's time to upgrade.
This game is compatible with systems that were built up to 10 years ago. 10 years is one hell of a long time to not update a system though.
If you set aside 50 cents a day, you would be able to afford to build a decent gaming system from scratch every 5 years. You could build a decent system in 2-3 years. And that's less than the cost of a basic coffee at McDonalds.
In the long run it's all about personal choices.
It's your choice to attempt to play current games on a system that was out-dated 8 years ago.
You have to know that when you make that choice, there is going to be frustration and failure.
People complaining that the game companies don't cater to those with these extremely out-dated systems are just being silly.
People trying to play games on those outdated systems should put more effort into updating their equipment. Work some overtime, don't eat out as much, there's lots of life's choices that are overlooked.
And sure, there's some people in complete poverty in some 3rd world country trying to play on the best PC they could get their hands on for practically free. Their situation isn't going to change much. Sure there's not a lot they can do about it. Complaining about a game changing to keep up with newer hardware and leaving them in the dust is just an effort in futility. My opinion would still be that those people would be better off not trying to spend time playing a game like this, and would spend their time better working to improve their situation than sit around and whine.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

aaaand you telling someone to work OT so they can build a new computer is a bit condescending if you ask me. well i suppose that would be your own personal choice to work your *** off or sacrifice other areas of life just to justify building a better computer to play games on. Both of my own rigs are a few years old, and when the time comes to build anew - i do what most people do an take it out of my income tax refund.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

If you can't afford $500 USD in 5 years (aka upgrade your systems every 5 or so years). Then you really probably shouldn't be playing pwi... or any games in general.1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.

Why is that if you don't mind me asking? How the hell does that have anything to do with playing pwi you don't need money to play this game. You people need to get off your high horse and realize not everyone make's a lot of money and buying a new pc is the last thing on the list of priorities for them. What's this about having to be poor again?
Some people can afford a nice gaming computer but don't care enough to get one because they are light/casual gamers and just have other priorities regarding what they wish to spend their money on. Some people have decent sized monitors but like to play in windowed. Some people just LIKE the old UI better.
Just because someone's computer can work the new UI acceptably even with it's flaws and impracticality, doesn't mean that it's the best UI to use, even if their monitor is freaking 60"... I know even if I had the largest monitor possible to mankind I'd still like all my space to be clickable.
My issue is that the old UI gets filtered as being used only by people who cant afford a gaming computer, that's just not true.0 -

Consoles are really cheap. No need to upgrade for years, every game will work. And there is tons and tons of games for $10 or lower, bunch of deals for older games, deals for games that are 6-9 months old but costs less than $10... many options for people who wants to play, but can't afford to upgrade their PC._blood_rain - Sanctuary wrote: »even if their monitor is freaking 60"...
Sad thing is, inches are not important, resolution is.
That 60'' monitor have same resolution as most of 23-24'' = same space for clicking b:laugh
I really hate when people start to brag that they play on 50''.
Most of 27'' monitors have more working space than those *50'' or even *60'' TVs.

I wonder if it would be possible for PW to normalize pvp in their games. That seems to be a major issue in MMOs. PW could get away with overpowered cash shop items because MMO design had always centered around being overpowered. Even in games without cash shops, endless grinding had the potential to produce overpowered characters. Cash shop was just an equalizer for people with money.
But now some games are revisioning their market and design strategy to cater to people who neither want to grind or pay lots of cash. I wonder if PW would do something to adjust for that change.0 -

People who live below a certain income level aren't always blowing their money at starbucks or making bad lifestyle decisions. And the fact you think they have no right to some joy in their life with things like games, is stupid. If you were stranded on a desert island did you know that someone to talk to or something to entertain you would be essential to your survival? So that you don't go insane? It's water, shelter, food, safety equipment, entertainment. In that order. A person's life cannot be all hardships and work, and they have every right to enjoy the game that you do.
In all actuality, if people got off their high horses and demanded more accountability from PC makers this wouldn't even be an issue. Have you ever heard of something called Planned obsolescence? Companies are putting you through the hoops with this sorry excuse and if people got off their high horses and demanded products that lasted longer, we wouldn't be having these issues. People demand better from their television sets and even with things like HD tvs and 3D tvs, they are still capable of viewing older formats. The computer games and consoles could easily have backward compatibility, they don't want to include it because they want you cop this attitude and spend your money. I mean the sony playstation even purposefully got rid of one model because it was backwards compatible and people were buying that one instead of their more expensive models so that they could play PS2 games. Rather than offer it on the higher end models, they decided to just stop selling the low end ones. To get you on that hamster wheel.
The fact that people can build computers that easily last 10 years on their own is proof of this.CroPsy - Heavens Tear wrote: »Consoles are really cheap. PS2 debut 2000, PS3 debut 2006. PS2 obsolete in 6 years.
XBOX debut 2001, XBOX 360 debut 2005. XBOX obsolete in 4 years.
Gamecube debut 2001, Wii debut 2006. GC obsolete in 5 years.
Games cost for some games as low as 10 dollars on these older units, but 50-60 bucks each at time of purchase.
Computer initial costs is more but there are many totally free games. In addition, computer literacy is an increasingly important part of life. It can help you find jobs and basic computer skills is increasingly becoming mandatory for many, many jobs. So a console is a far more worthless purchase than a PC, and if you can scrape together the money a far better investment.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

And that's what I'm talking about. You buy console, lets say Xbox360, and for the next 7-8 years you don't need to spend any money on upgrades. $0 costs for hardware upgrade.
On the other hand, you need to update your PC at least every 4 years to be able to play new games, without reducing resolution and details.
So in one console cycle, you need to upgrade your PC, at least, two times. And PC costs much more than console. Basic upgrade is new CPU and GPU. Combination of good CPU and GPU is around $300. And that's without costs of installing components, cause many people don't even know how to install hardware. And I'm also talking about new stuff only.VenusArmani - Dreamweaver wrote: »Games cost for some games as low as 10 dollars on these older units, but 50-60 bucks each at time of purchase.VenusArmani - Dreamweaver wrote: »Computer initial costs is more but there are many totally free games.
