I was glancing over at world chat today and saw something that made me facepalm.

Things like weapon links for BH39 squads and that guy in world chat. I don't know it seems like the player base in general has more demands of other people than ever. Anybody else notice this trend?


And I'm not referring to things like fast nirvana squads. I mean for just simple things.

The actual trend is that a majority of the highly intelligent portion of the population has left the game. That skews the bell curve... most of the people left are complete morons. Hope that helps! b:pleased

I actually understand asking for lvl 11 rez in wc...

If you're at 99.9% and grinding that last .1% means a lot more.

He was asking for level 10 and honestly I think if someone offers to rez you, you should just take the rez especially if you aren't offering to pay the tele costs. It was more like a demand than a request as you saw. And most clerics have at least level 10, thats nothing special.

Saw someone WC for weapon link for Wraithslayer's Massive once........
That boss hardly does any damage either......10 people in squad, its dead fast....
Who really cares about the weapon link for something like that anyway?........

No - That boss IS dead fast. My sin is 98 and doesn't have very fancy gear (I've got an insane number of characters and I'm poor irl) and I have no trouble at Wraithslayer's Missive. Usually I'm cleric AND sin in those runs and there's usually just another cleric and a seeker along. We do it just fine. Takes a little time but no troubles.

But yeah there's a trend of showing weapons and such apparently across several servers for all kinds of things. You know, you can have the best gear in the game and still suck as your class. So, eh.... who cares how much they spent on gear. As long as they know what they're doing, THAT'S what matters.

A reason why even I thought about asking for weapon/max hp in future for everything is, that there are so many 100+ toons out there with ridiculouse trashy gear. They expect that you solo for them gv and other stuff - and take all the costs. While they r afk or have no clue what they have to do:
Venos which give seekers no chi and prefer to 3spark, bms which can't pull wave1+2, archers/bms which don't attack the archers, bms which don't stun or dragon, cheap clerics which only want rainbow squads because they don't want to consume a singel pot and just want to go afk, barbs with less than 10k hp which get stunned and killed at 1st 2 waves (fist/claw users w/o int gear..), girls which just want do get their bh done to get coins to buy more overpriced fash + pigs in shops)... ppl with unrefined/unsharded morai gear... list is almost endless.
On average im way too friendly, I have to work on this.

I seen ppl asking for weapon link for FF80 + before like lol I don't think biut refining over +3 till my toons in end game gear then I refine higher

I agree with the above, but the thing is, try to get a squad "as a lvl 92 Seeker" to do a Delta till Wave 5 ... The answer will be "no you are to low" .. Now my question is: how can i learn how to do things before i am truly needed for them, if people are always searching for High Lvl and OP geared chars ??

Anyway i got a squad done, cause 2 friends 100+, made it and invite others, i got to wave 5 with no sweat and the cleric died just once cause the barb didnt pull...

I've saw everything in this game, from Heavy Clerics to Arcane Sins ...

I dont mind having people with crappy gear in my squad as long as they want to learn how to do stuff right ...

yeah, I had this. Spent a couple months trying to get into a run to get stage 4 for Chrono. Finally started by own squad on a day everyone wanted 2 and 3 for BH. So there I am, in a squad of level 101 and 102 people, and they LOL'ed at me being 91. They asked, "what class is your main that you're going to swap to?" Then they had another laugh when I told them that I was going to do the run on this toon and I needed Stage 4 for Chrono. As usual for a BH/short run, we did spawn point.

Needless to say, I was the one laughing when, at Stage 3, they were falling over and decided to run back to the start and pick up there. I laughed even harder when they asked, "Dude, where the hell are you? Hit go to town and come to the start", because I was still standing and running back with all of the mobs.

It's not about your level and gear, (although I admit, my TT90 gear helped a lot), it's about experience, and knowing what to do when.

Ive been seeing those WCs since I started in 2009. It's nothing new. Its when they don't offer a donation for the effort I think they're entitled-****.

But I do agree the link-your-weapon for BHs and FF and Wraithslayers Missive is kinda nuts. If you gotta WC, take what you can get.

Having done RB back in the day before rank gear, yadda yadda Im old: Id take a 92 Seeker just fine. If they have a zerk blade, even better. Just perfect if we can get them BP.

The cleric res in WC, I can understand if you're about to level, or dying once means you've just wasted your entire day. It sucks DX. I haven't reached that point yet, but I'll usually ask friends before logging a cleric on XD;;. If they're busy or don't feel like it, fine, I log cleric and I'm fine.

But weapons link for BH39? I've seen trolls with something similar ("LF Qinzi, need R9 +12 link weapon" kinda thing) but considering the level of intelligence of some... not surprised if it would be a serious demand x.x. I've only had a handful of issues related to other's gear in FC and BH runs, I do believe at one point I asked for people with "decent" gear. And I'm not talking about high refines or anything - have gear suited for your level/build, and not wearing lv60 armor at 90 -_-;;...

I'm a girl. I run my BH100s primarily for a source of income. And I do like to buy fashion (though I get my pigments from dragon points). Does that mean my characters are undergeared and that I don't know how to play?

That statement put you in the same category as the others that are being complained about.

Some people are just dumb tbh. RB is an interesting kinda thing with people.

Some people will only do SP...and fail at it because they've done it with a bunch of R9s prior, and end up with a TT90 squad and its really rough. And its funny, cause at aura for RB till 3rd wave is only about 5-10 minutes of difference really.

So that kinda stuff happens, and they get really specific on levels and gear. They want it done fast, easy, and not dependent on the skill of the players. Call me crazy, but I like a good group that will play hard with their class - level and gear is not a thing with this if everyone does their role well.

In essence, I really feel the people who wont take lower levels, non uber gear are either being elitists, or are actually not so good at their class and need higher geared people to support them. On rare occasions I could say that theyve done RB with some really bad squads, and need a break from the fomgwtfbbq.

Crowd Control and AOE damage over time is the most important part of RB, SP or Aura. If you aren't doing Crowd Control well, its a charm-**** fest or a death fest. Sins/Archers getting ranged mobs, BM utilizing proper ranging, Barbs (if there is one) properly taunting, utilizing Alpha Male, Vac Powders...yadda yadda.

True, nowadays you can skip beans, go to SP, and not really pay attention or try hard if you have a squad of R9s, and kill stuff uber quick. Hell, I can solo Waves 1 and 2 with BP and only charm tick a little bit. But, if you read the old guides on how to run RB (when it was hard cause we didnt have the uber gear), RB is not only easy...but goes really well. Regardless of gear and level.

And I seriously enjoy teaching Sins, Seekers, and rarely BMs/Barbs how to pull RB. Its kinda awesome to watch a Seeker pull, and go into vortex every round. I say who cares, bring someone lower level or lower geared and show them how to RB. Better you are at it, smoother the runs, and its kinda fun. Clerics may have a boring job but they cant entertain us with harassment while we do our thing as they BB.

If people weren't leveling alts as cheap as possible just to moochbag off other's BH100 runs we probably wouldn't need weapon links.

Anyway who is anyone to criticize requirements when it's been generally practiced and accepted to reject certain classes? A good assassin is better than a bad wiz in RB.

I may just start asking people how many aoes they have. Stupid veno today who claimed to know it all said they only had 2 aoes. Nova, Noxious, Beffudling Mist, Malefic Crush, Fox Myriad -yep that's 2 alright!

How about asking assassins how many skills they use for RB? (how many use powerdash, wolf emblem, chill of the deep)? -Notice 5 skills for aoe just like veno?

People paying for and taking the time to make the squad should be able to be as picky as they want to be BEFORE they invite.

Which brings up another point... Why is there such a big hurry? I mean isn't the point of playing any game the enjoyment of playing the game? I don't get the big rush. There was a regular group I went on FC (or FF depending on your server) with every day. Skyrim came out and I only did MQ for a bit before coming back and finding the squad had completely become obsessed with speed. They were doing huge pulls directly to the bosses, which is fine, if the barb or SOMEONE has aggro. But I rush with my holy path fast I could to find the barb didn't get aggro on anything and some were resetting. Wtf... I happen to be a good cleric, and I know if I heal him when he doesn't have aggro, I'm dead. And if I'm dead, the squad is dead. So I bite my lip and ask is he gonna get aggro yet. He tries his skill, complaining that this or that didn't work, shocked that something or other didn't take, that something else was still in cool down, and promptly dies. Just at this point the bm and seeker do their things and grab everything left before they ALL reset. And I heal like mad and get the barb up. (I have sage rez.) But a bunch of the mobs had reset, and if I had died, I wouldn't have made it to them to rez him, because he was gonna die regardless. There is no need to rush this stuff. If you are in that big a hurry, why are you playing a game at all?

So, yeah, you need people in your group who know what they are doing. Not obsessed with speed, or fashion, or anything. Just good at what they do. It really isn't about the gear. Or at least it shouldn't be. Though I do know what some of you are saying about unsharded and such gear and players who tag along rather than be a part of the action. Just don't look away from the really good players who can't afford the fancy stuff. Otherwise we'll end up with a game where in a squad of 6 you might have 2 who do everything while the rest follow afk.... all sparkling and fancy in their expensive shiny gear, looking pretty. b:chuckle

Even that statement doesn't make a valid excuse for needing weapon links. I've run into several people with uber gear that didn't have a freaking clue about how to play their character. Just because you have R9+12 and know how to link it does not mean you know how to play when it comes down to the rubber hitting the road.

3 of those are fox form skills. Therefore, if the veno is in fox form during the pull or whatever, then she can use those 3 skills. In normal form? She has 2 aoes. So in that respect the veno is right. You don't have time to change forms that quickly during a pull. Usually you chose fox or human form and run with it. I have been known to change in the middle of the fight and use other skills, but really only for bosses where there's time to change form. (My veno on DW is 101.)

As for the sin skills you mentioned, Power Dash requires 2 sparks. A class who mostly sparks and hits isn't likely to use those sparks on a skill. And Chill of the Deep cuts attack speed by a huge %. So again, you aren't gonna see too many use those skills. Wolf emblem I use all the time though. (My sin on Arch is 98.)

i dont really see what's the issue with asking a lvl10 or 11 res... actually i remember seeing a lot of those wc's 2-3 years ago. in the end, a low level res is pointless and waste of time.

ofc, the way you ask it might vary; from yelling to kindly asking and offering a compensation, from sending a wc to spamming wc for an hour during which you could regain all the lsot exp (true story)

as far as gear is concerned, i think that most people just want to filter out that 3k hp cleric with morai weapon and similar builds....

anyway, i agree with thumps, everyone has the right to form his/her squad as he/she wants.

on RB i usually am in chill, spark, harmony, subsea, rift, remove chill and hunt archers etc but i've done it two times so i guess there is room for improvement

All this talk about RB isn't what I'm referring to. I am referring to asking for a weapon link for BH39! That's stupidly extreme.

edit: And if you're going to demand a rez in world chat without paying the cleric the transportation costs it gets to you which more than likely greater than the costs of your tele, you take what you get.
