Commentator announces:
Welcome to KPWI’s hawt new show, After Dark - THE first news show that shows you who is “on the DL” with who in PW.
Tonight’s broadcast features Xainykins and Melly, a couple of nabs with poor reading comprehension, but really know how to get down, IF you know what I mean. *wink wink*
Xainykins, also known as Xai or Xainou, is a well known self-confessed Domino, but is polite about it. Just listen...(audio segway):
I'm sorry. *tames you and pet heals*
MrMelvin, also known as Melly, who is proud of the fact he has finally learned to write his name and what class he is...(cut to Melly):
My first attempt at a sig. I'm proud of myself >:3 It was painful to say that.
...confuses his DL partner, who tells Venus to try to keep quiet (back to Zainykins):
OMG xD That's hilarious in so many ways.
And Venus, shhh, were both one person, don't forget.0 -
At this point, I know our audience is as confused as these two are with that comment. And the confusion only builds as Melly matter-of-factly says:
Who knows anymore! Brillance might also be Kossy and Venus
...then continuing on, claims (spotlight on Melly):
Secretly I think Brillance wants my babies and is jealous of you because I don't think you're stupid
MrMelvin, then demands of his little Domino, Xainykins:
I think you are going to have to take me to a Pokecenter, now!
Xainykins indicating displeasure with the idea, replies:
No just no Melvin. lol. Oh noes *does that*
...then Xainykins voices more displeasure by complaining:
Get better, little Melvin :<0 -
Disheartened and deflated, while trying to deny his small *ahem* stature, and obvious lack of adequate moves, Melly claims:
I'm actually Brillance
Happy that Melly is trying to improve by assuming another identity, Xainykins then says:
Aww thank you lol
...then Xai suddenly gets misty eyed and wonders aloud:
And do mystics make babies..? I thought they just.. plant...things
Frightened, Melly looks searchingly deep into Xainykins eyes, and hoping to throw Xai a curve ball, says:
Yeah, its not like there is anything of worth to look at in there...I'm batman!0 -
Tune in Next Page, when we will hear Venus ask and sadly complain:
Does having a tattoo of a six pack of beer count as having a six pack? Because apparently that is a thing. Mostly people with beer guts tho. QQ ):
And, trueKossy announces to Venus:
Glad to be of service.
(Pan to Porky Pig, who bursting through a bass drum head, says his stuttering farewell line, with the theme to Merrie Melodies playing softly in the background):
Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-That's all, folks!"
Commentator rolls eyes and says: Bunch of freaking looney tunes...The End, Good night!0 -
Can't we all just get back on TOPic? QQ0

Long story short, Jonathon Swift is the Original Troll. He wrote a proposal in newspapers a really really long time ago (in 1729) suggesting that everyone should eat babies.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

He wasn't a Troll, but a Satirist. Not all trolls have the intelligence to write satire. Some just stand around like 4 year olds just saying cool words for their level, like stupid, dumb, and by age 8 some can even include words like ignorant.
Many Satirists write humorously, and many write grotesque and morbidly, and unlike a lot of trolls, they all point to a flaw in moral character. One could say Aesop was the original satirist, and every Aesop fable has a moral to it.
To fully understand Swift, you have to understand the time and place in which he writes. Too much for many to do. To me his proposal is pointing a clear finger at the idle selfish and totally inhumane chatter of the wealthy, who would complain about poor people begging them for scraps, but would never miss an opportunity to increase their lands, their wealth and their title, no matter the cost in human lives.
No one can miss the suggestion that there is money to be made in fattening up and selling infants. 2 schillings per annum to raise and fatten up (including the rags they wear for clothing) an infant, and upon sale you get 10 schillings. A nice profit.
At the same time in history, a young Benjamin Franklin in Philadelphia could buy six very large loaves of bread for a hay-penny (half a cent). So, yes, the loss of life and the complaints from those with more wealth than their heirs could possibly spend left them deserving Swift's satrical jab at them.
I wouldn't say Swift was troll, but a man with the ability to care about people and society as a whole, and the title to be able write that satire and get published for his trouble.
The ability to read and write in Swift's time was a clear mark of some wealth, and to be able to thinly veil what is otherwise a clear insult to the Lords and Ladies of the land is a clear mark of higher education - both available to any child of wealth. How many of the common folk in the 1700's could even read or write? Most couldnt even write their own names, and used a mark instead for a signature. So, how would his writings have been directed to them?
Unlike today (at least in Western Culture), many satirists went to prison or worse for their trouble, including Aesop. To be honest, it is nice to think there are people of privilege in this world who maintain a moral and social conscience, and are even willing to die to speak the truth.

Well I agree with a lot of your analysis of Swift's work, I still consider him to be both. For one, he wrote this anonymously. He was also being intentionally provocative and clearly trying to elicit an emotional outrage. Which is why he doesn't just suggest that people should eat babies, he goes into detail about different ways to eat babies. I mean he suggests that to fricassee the babies for example. He was clearly trying to **** people off. IMHO he was trolling the elites spreading mercantilism. And there are many, many people that did not realize he wasn't being serious about eating babies. There are just so many different ways he could have gone about making his point that people were being treated as commodities and to decry the inequality of conditions at the time. He picked the baby-eating route both as satire and to troll people. I don't think the two are mutually exclusive.
and I thought you weren't reading these. b:lipcurl[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
