Here are my opinions on the following.

The Game:

-It can be fun, if you can make it fun for yourself.

-PvE scene is repetitive, during 2x events, it picks up however, and even brings motivation for some.

-PvP scene, well on HT, its mostly full of elitist complainers, complaining about how boring or lame PK is due to lack of PKers. I want to say that PvP is pretty dull, but I honestly don't know how it is for other servers.

-Gold, most usually adapt to any price, complaints about it can be legit though.

-It's dumb how Rank 9 is not "farmable", meaning that you can't run an instance for Medal of Glory/GSTs or an in-game way that is direct with source materials. I do not consider farming other stuff in exchange for coins for boutique only items, "farming Rank 9".

-This is a personal peeve, but I hate seeing random players, that are not alts at first glance, sporting full rank 9 +12 gears. I can't help but assume that its a huge CSer...

-Sales, at this rate, its the same stuff, just slightly discounted over time, can't wait for 100 gold Rank 9 sales, or 10 gold 10* orb sales, or even 20 gold for 100 packs sales.

The Forums:

-A lot deader than they were when I started up playing again with the last expansion.

-GMs/CMs/Admins are not doing enough. They love to provide vague answers, or will purposely ignore topics, very selective, however a topic like that is saved for another thread.

Content-wise, not really. Descent was a step in the right direction, but its still unfinished. It still was the best expansion since the Age of Spirits though (imo).

As for the Community, well...in-game many are just rushing to 100 to be bored like everyone else (to them, there's naught left but to farm a handfull of instances or stroke their e-peen). With so many being profit-driven nowadays, few try to challenge themselves just for the sake of having fun...

The forums lost a lot of its activity and quality...the same threads are popping up again and again. Its becoming a tad boring.

I guess in general, the game can still be fun, and there's still other interesting people you can run into in-game, but things have definitely been on a decline.

I'm deciding whether or not to get back into the game again.
The new update has piqued my interest so far, but my computer is resisting my efforts. I haven't successfully managed to re-download the game yet.

Kerona - Sanctuary

The new expansion is gorgeous and certainly time consuming even if questing does get monotonous. It's something to do.

First, what's gotten better IMO.

The introduction of Orders, while not really fitting into the pre-existing story line, is definitely something that was needed to give people something to work towards at 95+.

Rank 8 recast was also something designed to try and revamp a lacking sense of community, since you have to farm those items with your faction.


Back when I started (ignore the join date.. long story) I loved the fact that PWI rewarded working for your levels, and that you couldn't just swipe a credit card to buy levels, skills, or gear. Oracles, hypers, new Frost, packs, etc.. killed that, and caused the game to become a magnet for players who only care about their own advancement. This led to a lot of the peole who enjoyed the RPG part of this MMORPG to get frustrated and quit. As a result, a lot of the current playerbase are people who charge their way to the top levels/gear over a week or two.

Games evolve, but where that becomes a problem is that since the private servers have finally gotten over several of their big hurdles (tideborn, earthguard, 79/100 skills, etc..) Those people that would have come here just to get to 105 with full r9 and never do a quest, will go there. Why not? The private servers will give them what they want within the first 30 minutes of them creating their character.

Good riddance, but since they're now the major portion of the money coming into this game, that will lead to lack of meaningfull expansions for us here still on PWI.


Another thing I've noticed lately, is that it seems the staff here doesn't care about us, the players. Hell, when Descent came out, and poo hit the fan with all the technical bugs, we were all left to fend for ourselves for solutions for days/weeks. Some friend's of mine couldn't get onto the game for weeks/months.

I'm not scheduled to work on weekends either, but if a building I'm designing falls over on a Saturday, I can't just wait till Monday before I take a look at what happened. Even if it was something that was going to take a few days to figure out, you better bet I'd be held accountable if I didn't at least communicate with the client that I was looking into fixing the problem.

That right there is probably what's done the most recently to damage the relationship between the game and it's players, and I'm not sure if it's repairable at this point. Too many promises, too little action.

And they've only seemed to be interested in putting in any effort at all, on us 'Higher lv's' (And not a very good job at that either, sadly.) Aswell as their Favorite Half Actions to date, (Non-stop) CS Sales "Not to mention, that they made it way to easy! To CS your way through too (Prestige, Prominance & Power) now a days."


Chalk that up with the (Complete Lack) of 'New Blood' thats not coming into the game Via. (Truely New Players) who could replace the old outgoing 1's............ And in the end, I still see {PWi} as only being on one Very 'Sick, Worn Out & Failing! (Life Support) System' A system that one, can only keep it going for only so long....



So sadly, Unless they bring in One Very Excellent (Idea Man) to come up with some (Truely NEW) & (Awsomely thought out!) Expansion Plan's & Content....b:dirty...."For Absolutely Everyone of Every level" to be able to do, to RESPARK interest in the game" and have alot of 'Extremely! Well Motivated' Integration Design Team Personnel, to be able too make the stuff a reality.....b:victory..... I sadly can't see {PWi} Pulling outta their Downslide, that they've been going under for so long......b:surrender

If you're talking about the latest update, there's no difference for me. It still appears that the only reasonable way to level available to me is the world quest --- and IIRC they even said that this is strictly an update for high level players (and I'm guessing it's simply more instances for those).

One of bosses hit Duke during Friday: Assault on Archosaur Event and he shout less now.

Decent was a bust because they put a limit on your playability. I mean 30 mins and you are forced to be done on that progressive project for the day, and have to wait an entire day to yet perform another 30 min task to gain a trickle of progression towards your goals. I understand them wanting to make it take time before achieving those additional skills/gear whatever. But IMO it should have been scaled on your playtime capability. Basically the whole expansions playability is about like a Facebook app.

The entire game is already farm farm farm based. The r8 recast was a step in a potentially right direction of raid force progression, but they failed in making that also a farm based joke. I mean your faction works all week to get to the highest tier, just to get a handful of ****, that who ever is working on re crafting will have to collect a zillion more pieces. and also battle it out with faction mates just to get a few pieces. But then just to get resetted back to starting at 1- to me they should have made it extremely harder to get to the 9th one, and if your faction made it there, then go into farm mode. This may have gave subpar geared factions incentive to gear up and get into the competitive world of TWs, if they could have worked hard, got to a decent farmable status, and sat there a while gearing up faction mates. Maybe made the end instances key related where they would have to revisit lower tiered progression to key quest new faction mates.

PvE is repetitive, farm based, and the only incentive is the coin exchange rate. The challenge is minimal and virtually pointless to say you PvE for the challenge.

PvP is simply unbalanced, not just on a class level, but a gear gap level all together. On each server, a faction with a handful of 6k USD chars in one faction monopolize the TW scene, and they typically will ruin the PK spots. And the ones dumb enough to spend that much money only need select the right class, and basically play the game on cheat mode.

New update predictions are running even the heaviest CSers to other games, or even private servers. They spent a ton of money, which supports all those pretty new useless pointless graphics the f2p players take for granted, just to learn, in order to stay updated as a CSer with their gears, they will just have to fork out thousands more. Really re-crafted r9 with its minimal power boost, shouldn't have cost you another r9 equivalent in cost. Now another re-craft? Sure they prob will lower the original r9, but regardless, its just turned into a pigeon toe effect for those that already paid top cost of r9.

Community has become stale to say the least. It is definitely not a gamers community. More so a community of people trying to keep up with the joneses.

GM/CMs whatever they want to label themselves pretend to be absent minded about the real deal. but i'm quite sure they know how well their company is milking people's wallets, and continue to let a broken game be broken, as long as there are morons and re-tards willing to fork over thousands of bucks to buy an easy mode unbalanced game mechanic.
lulz nix broke? is ok, people spending hundreds to buy em. (the pioneer age of dumb-***** spending money for a broken advantage)
lulz sins class broke? is ok people forking more hundreds to get em.
lulz r9 is way to OP for the game's current design? is ok people spending a couple of grand to get it.
lulz r9 +12 psy broken? is ok people forking over 10k to get em.
lulz lets see if we can get the same dumb-***** to fork over another few grand for a slight increase in all the **** we dished out above!

here lets give em a pointless new zone with pretty colorful graphix to pacify them.

This is one of the reasons I haven't been playing much lately. Other players I run into tend to either be annoying or inept. Or worse: both.

To be honest, I've gone back to playing Guild Wars. I don't have to worry about players because nobody parties except for end-game content, and it's easy to avoid annoying players if I do run into any because almost the entire game is instanced.

When you see PWE advertising Forsaken World on Steam you realize that PWE has completely given up on PWI.

Don't mind Michael, you should just see him as Edward Norton from Fight Club. PWI is a group for people with problems, he just joins in because he's addicted to the attention he could possibly get from being here.

As for the game itself, same old same old. I kind of got my hopes up for the new skills but for once I wish it wasn't a boring *** repetitive kill x mobs quest you need to do every day for like about half a year to get all your new skills.

I'm a forum ****. I always have been. I post on forums. So, I post here because at one point, I played this game a lot. Every time from 91-102 I leveled up in 3rd map without hypers except for once, which was in rebirth. I didn't hyper noob or oracle my levels... and this was also my first and only MMO.

And, I don't come here for attention. As if there's anyone on here whose attention I really desire. lol Good one.

i agree with alot of wht you guys are saying bout pwi and how worse its gotten over the last 1-2yrs. theres been alot of things done that the devs shouldnt of done to pw. heres my thoughts on this.

Gameplay

Barbs using claws

Weapons made for almost any and all classes (mag sword- bm, barb, sin, psy, cleric, mystic, veno, wizard)

the immune to dmg aoe affect from absolute domain taken off

secret passage being made into a pk warzone once and then made into pk a second time with restrictions on pking.

rank 9/4-5aps causing people to become real jerks

people not doin quests cause they are boring and repeditive so they hyper in FF up to 100 within a week or less.

people being less helpful toward other players

bh platform being a ghost platform and hardly anyone doing tt runs like they used to.

public quest being abandoned, world quest is a drag since no one wants to fly around pw from one npc to the next.

morai broken from the very start

new skills made for lvl 80 and cult79 but need to be 95 to get the skills learned.

new area looks cool but has serious glitch, lag and rubberbanding.

new armor is the same as tt70 stats (since ive compared the two myself)

pw not giving accurate replys to ppls tickets and complaints.

player community is at an alltime low since r9 and aps made ppl become so power hungry and speed lvlers.

very few quests to do from lvl 80-100

so with everything tht ive listed here signifys a pay to play by using a plastic card just to get wht they want. sure ya can try and find enjoyment even though its hard to when the rest of the brats want ya to go along with them just to have fun. to me its more hard to have fun in pw when things are like they are now with very few ppl callin out for bh whtever and havin to have a high lvl solo the instance for them instead of them learning to do it themselves. the only bhs i do with friends tht i knw except a few randoms on occasion when i can find a squad.

They work on getting it better. New skills and Morai are fun. Trials also good..
