What the hell are these for? They're all over arch.

    There are npcs in north arch center square you can trade paper items to for prizes.
    I've looked everywhere for an npc or something to trigger a quest. Best i can figure out, all those 'riddle lanterns' around the bh platform in the center should have riddles to answer. (i'm guessing the paper items are a reward for getting the riddle right)They are numbered 1- 20. But there are no flags on any of them. b:surrender

    Guessing it's a failed event... Again (December 2010 Christmas event).

    Is it Dreamweaver only? I don't see anything on Sanctuary.

    Maybe a GM accidentally turned on the switch.

    Though a drunk GM would explain why it took me 10 minutes to just tele from the World map to Morai earlier today, and almost 7 minutes to tele back from Morai to world map. o.o Freaking massive lag.
    When the 11 and 12 star orbs were removed due to
    "Client Instability"...
    Was PWE referring to the Game Client?
    Or the players?

    I am pretty sure it's only in DW server.
    Bunch of NPCs everywhere, no quests etc.

    Lanterns do not appear along the path in West, only on buildings in West.

    the legendary DeathToDW boss was also spawned:
    150mil hp, gives constantly 3 sparks, buffs mattack, pattack, immune to damage



    we dealed ~420k dmg to him, they he run awayb:angry
    you only purge once #yopo

    Yeah on Dreamweaver last night apparently a GM was spawning bosses maybe they just went on a spawning spree of lanterns and forgot?

    lol praying WHEN the quest NPC does arrive its more an one - MAJOR Lag Fest in North as well as West

    In Heavens Tear in north arch only there are lanterns along the streets.
    I don't see any weird NPC's tho.

    Wonder if they will disappear after maintenance this week (if we get one).

    Old event stuff is old.
    It's new years stuff that's been in files long before pwi has existed.

    It's incomplete (well rather untranslated for our version, my-en seems to be fully translated) and mostly useless except for the pretty lanterns.

    Ah... I wondered which lanterns Lantern Chang's "Lantern Count" quest was referring to. That's a lot of lanterns to count. Interesting to see a quest time with a year attached to it too.

    Dreamweaver (the city ingame) has these lanterns on buildings as well.

    It's just old event NPCs and graphics that a GM most likely accidentally spawned when spawning random WBs those days under the name of popular factions.

    I don't think that's directly related to the new years event. Nevertheless there are no other lanterns that I can think of that that quest would be referring to. Maybe the lanterns were supposed to be part of something else but got scrapped along with that quest and instead got reused for the new year's event...

    It's one of the results of the GMs drinking before their shifts. That's why there were random dinos and world bosses spawned in West Arch.
    (I found it hilarious seeing all the little catshop clerics drop when Harpy Wraith aoe'd)
