    i dunno how old your pc is but my moms 400$ walmart pc can play pwi and its at least 3yrs old with minimum stats inside

    So this was a bad business model? It would be far better in PWE's interest to never upgrade their game engine and cater to the one or two people who can't handle an 8 year old update?
    PWE was not in any out of line and will alienate probably only you from upgrading to DirectX9.0c.
    This is a thread not looking for help, but looking for sympathy and nothing else. Surprised it hasn't been locked yet.

    my old system works with new update, only around 20 FPS with effects at lowest, 14 on high

    Win XP Pro Service Pack 3 Version 2002
    Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2600+, (Mult X 11.5) + (Bus 167 MHz) = Core Speed 1920 MHz
    Memory: 2 X G.Skill DDR 1024 MB PC3200

    Video Card: ATI Radeon X850 Pro AGP 256MB, driver 10.2 updated 2010, OverClock 550,575
    2 X 500GB Hard Drives setup raid 0

    Check to see if you have the newest Video Driver for your setup

    I noticed that the main problem goes with Windows XP rather than Direct X . I know some of them myself and their Video and sound cards exceed the Direct X 9.0c (Direct X is up to date) standard and the game will not start b:cry.

    The standards for the game can not be that high. My tiny netbook with an Atom processor still runs the game with ease after the update. My 6 core I7 extreme desktop is still overkill b:chuckle.
