The Mirage Celestone Pack has actually been in the Chinese version's cash shop for a long time now, long before the Fairy Boxes were removed from the dungeon.
Since the packs being in the cash shop is ok with the devs, we're just following suit over here, especially since, as you've probably noticed, the theme of this month's cash shop has been "Make as much stuff available as possible".
I'd just like to dispel the notion that this sequence of events was planned out beforehand, as it's completely untrue.0 -

You guys should do more market research before releasing this stuff ... the pack has an average of exactly 20 mirage stones. On all servers thats worth from 200k - 240k.
The pack is priced at 45 silver... more than twice the value of an anniversary pack which puts its price at over 800k. Around 4 times higher than the value of the contents. Even if these packs gave their maximum prize 100% of the time they still wouldn't be worth it to open.
Releasing things at price points that are so far from the in game economy makes you guys seem out of touch with the player base. Try logging into the game more often.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Ehh putting a discount on this is is dangerous. Mirages sell to NPCs for 10k coins each and the average payout of these packs is exactly 20 mirages. The current effect on gold prices when 200k in game coins has a value of 45 silver means that it is impossible for gold to fall below 444k (side stepping any player market).
A 75% discount would push that gold price floor up to 1.78m[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I for one wish we could a standardized complaint letter going in Chinese but that's probably impossible. XD
Well Frankie responded and his answer was just as crappy as the popular demand bit.
I don't care if he is just doing "his job". If lying to his customer base, ticking people off, and not coming through with what he says is "his job" then I believe that he's getting paid too much. Anyone can come on the forums and lie to people and write scripted words. I don't believe its his "job" to come up with such ****. Now I might believe he does the best he possibly can given the circumstances he's faced with. But to be honest with you if I had a job and the company made me out to be the scapegoat and the fall guy as much as you seem to think Frankie is, I think I'd quit before being that. I can't imagine the pay is really that great.
It is obvious that many of us (not just a few) feel like we are constantly lied to and trampled on by the company. I wrote Frankie a PM 5 days ago that is still unanswered. So if he's not answering PM's, and he's barely answering the forum posts then what is he doing? Because as out of touch as they are, its clear that they aren't logging on the game. Gold is over 2 mil on HT due to all their sales. What I don't get is that people actually think that they are saving money buying things on "sale". Gold was 1.4-1.5 mil before. Now they are paying 500k more per gold, its not saving them anything. At this point I'm just as disgusted as the next guy. RIP- After 3 years I'm near ready to hang it up.0 -

You guys surely could have seen this coming though, the Fairy box nerf was known by the playerbase, well at least the forum going one, months before it ever actually happened. Didn't anyone stop to think to make it available when they were still around if for no other reason then to not give this impression to the player base and retain players? I mean, how long are we even talking that it's been in China? Because the fairy boxes themselves were nerfed on the official chinese servers all the way back in JULY I mean, the players translated the patch notes for FREE. You didn't even have to hire and pay a patch note translator (which may admittedly be more costly than its worth) to do it for you guys. To be honest, the fact that it wasn't planned out just makes things worse because it shows that worse then trying to just monetize the refining process ahead of the new soulforce skills, which while sucky, is just a something that would make good business sense. There isn't any thought put into the major changes as this one at all.
You could have even waited until the expansion came out to sell these. And packaged it as a new and exciting service that upgrades all classes in the games, even if you regrettably have to raise the prices of refining. You could of done something like this:
Dear Players,
We regret to inform you that in anticipation of our newest expansion, fairy boxes will no longer be available in certain modes of Twilight Temple. We can understand your frustration to this change, but due to the costs of the newest expansion we can no longer offer them. Instead we're going to offer a new service that we believe will add more power to your character and dynamically change gameplay. We believe this will actually increase the value of your mirage stones. (Insert all the details about how much more power you're now getting from the refines due to the introduction of soulforce.)
And just to show you we haven't forgotten about our free-to-players, we have some exciting new gear. (insert introduction of new gear). This gear will only be available to people who complete quests for brand new npc factions. Lastly, please accept this token of our sincere apology for these changes. (insert ticket for some cheap trinket that secretly brings you more money, such as free hyper experience stones, free bonus zen, etc.) As always if you have questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to submit a ticket here and we'll reply to your ticket it in the order it was received. We look forward to you continued patronage!

I mean that would have been more understandable, the way this was rolled out without any explanation and at such a bad time kinda shows that perhaps you guys should have planned things out a little better ahead of time. If for no other reason than for better PR. The way this was implemented kinda is making a lot of people mad (myself included, though I don't blame you personally) and to say that it didn't even serve a good business purpose but was just thoughtlessness doesn't really help at all.b:crySource:

The first item says you can now obtain R9 gears from NPC in 1k stream when you have the necessary materials.
A couple other items of interest:
Bosses in TT single mode will no longer drop mirage chests. Some of the bosses in TT 1-1, and 2-1 will no longer drop mirage chests.
A quest to test your max damage and then see how it compares with others on your server.
On the Chinese servers, you can officially sell your toons now.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Plenty of players here will still point the finger at China. State-side PWI bigwigs have it perfectly set up to make the devs take all the blame. Perhaps that's why the devs are working on the new expansion adding skills to old classes and new PvE-specific gear; they might finally have discovered that PWI is uing them as the scapegoat. Because I'm pretty sure the devs have no control over our cash shop sales, and honestly, I don't even think they know what goes on sale.0 -

Of course it's OK with the devs, PWI makes money, pays the devs for "content" (LOLOL) in which devs make money, then PWI makes more money from content and more pack b/s that comes with it, then it's rinse and repeat, I don't know what your business is with the item mall or if you even have anything to do with it for that matter (though I would like to know), but the people behind it are morons as they clearly don't play the game and I bet they have no idea what's going on, if they are going to totally gimp cash making (again) for the f2p players and raise gold prices even more (2mill per gold), then what the living hell are you expecting? I've said this time and time again, this game is being run into the ground and come 2012 Q2-Q4, expect a MASSIVE drop in players and prepare to shut down ship if it comes to it, because PWE is one big joke in this state.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Glad I'm not the only one to pick up on how they have been gradually shifting blame that way for a little over a year now. Got most of the community thinking all they do is receive patch and install at this point. PWIC and the surprise at the number of R9 on our servers tell you anything?0 -

Makes me kinda wish I was some rich prestigious businessman fluent in Chinese, because then I'd take a trip to China just to have a personal chat with PWE and the devs and let them know that the American PWI is letting their game fray at the edges.
I'm actually hoping that PWIC finally gets tired of being a scapegoat and tells PWI to nut up or shut up, then refuses to send anymore patches or updates until the cash shop bull**** stops. They already aren't very happy with PWI putting r9 on sale.0
