I've found that the best factions out there are factions that do not actively recruit people and have 90+ members.

i personally can understand why people faction hop. it's rather sad that guilds don't do what guilds are made for. what is the point of being in a guild if you're not willing to help or not GETTING help. 20 members online and you need help with a BH or something yet ALL of them are busy or AFK. there is indeed a little guild within the guild and in the inner guild they help eachother and leave the rest to rot and fend for themselves. there are only around 3 people or so in the guild i'm in who would bother to help and i would help them back in any way i could, although i never got very high level so it can be hard at times.

i don't faction hop but i have seriously considered just leaving the guild i'm in and just run solo. cos frankly, i get way more help from random parties than i do from a guild. why be in a guild if you're not getting helped or not willing to help in return? the guild i'm in, the members say point blank they don't help with BHs cos they never got help with BHs themselves when they needed it. a **** cycle of unwillingness to help. i can understand not wanting to help with normal quests (cos there is no excuse not to solo them) and i don't expect help every time i ask, but come on. one can ask for help for a boss in a guild for days even weeks, in one case it took me months to get a party together to kill crimson and there were SEVERAL high level active members online a lot of the times.

guilds in this game are an oddity to me if the members are going to have that kind of attitude, why even MAKE a guild.

If you play a couple of hours a day, you don't want to spend all of them doing everybody's BHs. The thing is, everybody in the guild has 1-3 BHs to do every day. Most of the time, even if you spend all your online time helping out with BHs, you still won't be able to help everybody with just the BHs they need.

And that would leave 0 time for your own needs. BHs are generally in dungeons 10 lvls under yours, it should be easy enough with people your own level, and there should be plenty of those around in the game.

Then there is the times you DO end up helping in a BH 59 for example, which ends up taking 1.5 hours (half the time you have available if you have about 3 hours online time a day). The time distributed would be as follows:
time spent killing bosses: 15 seconds each
time spent walking to bosses: 5 minutes each
time spent waiting for random reasons: 1 hour total

I'm sure you won't be the one that makes whoever is helping wait for ages, but there's always someone that does and after experiencing that a few times it becomes frustrating enough that the will to help with BHs decreases rapidly. Especially because just after you're about halfway through that super slow BH somebody will pop in on guild chat complaining nobody ever helps with the boss you just killed for his BH.

When I'm standing around doing nothing I'll usually help with BHs, but try and remember that the person you expect to help you might have plenty of reasons to hate helping with BHs unless he's bored.

Don't get me started on people expecting help with TT... then when you ask for which mat, they answer "Fairy Boxes".

edit: oops, went on a bit of a rant there... sorry for that. Helping people is usually a lot of fun, but it can take up a lot of time, so the "helping time" is usually reserved for necessary bosses for culti as those can get in the way of progress for players. BHs are easy enough with a party of 3 or so of your own level generally, or in extreme cases you can solo them if you're willing to multiclient.

Here's a few things to keep in mind...

High lvls have their own things to do as well...sometimes fast paced and hard to switch type in faction chat so they don't bother to. Repeating things over and over will label you annoying...this doesn't get you help.

I don't know your particular situation, though you probably don't know theirs either.

    Basic rules
    FB/quest bosses/TT/etc = yes
BH/mob quests = no (though sometimes BH's can be helped on if enough members need and someone is bored)
Ask in faction chat for help. PM someone if no reply. Still no reply? Maybe they're afk, so try someone else. Maybe it's a time issue (they're all afk shops)? Try again later (few hours/another day...not mins.).

I've had people join us, ask for help on many things while all high lvls were busy, and left the same day complaining they never got help. Some were even the "I NEED THIS DONE NOW!" type. Nothing needs to be done at any given time unless a timed quest. Everything can be soloed, or done when someone CAN help. So the question to those types...should high lvls drop what they're doing to help lowbies?

If you've been with the faction for a little while, have followed the basic rules, and still haven't gotten help, then yes by all means move on. There's no sense complaining on the forums about it though since there are SOOOOO many factions out there. Give each one time before making a decision to move on though.

This may or may not apply to you...I wasn't there to see. This has applied to many who I've had the displeasure of recruiting in the past...so I'm just adding some food for thought to a pointless topic.

I didn't bother reading past the first page, because it's pointless banter.

Ok I got a faction problem.

I'm in my friend's faction, she's the leader, and well... It's a dead faction. I'm debating on leaving, but if I leave then my friend will get depressed. So what should I do, stay and ask WC for help or leave and go to a different faction?b:surrender b:surrender

I tend to faction hop. I don't think there's anything wrong with it at all. Unless you join same guilds over and over of course, that's just annoying. It can take time to find a guild that's right for you.

And as many others have pointed out. You should be able to handle your regular quests solo. I gladly help out with boss quests when I have time. But asking me to come out to kill 150 mobs for you cause you're too lazy to do it yourself? No thank you. Same with BH quests. I help if I got nothing better to do and quite honestly depends on who is asking. If the same person day after day ask for help with BH and doesn't even try to find an party in middle of Archo. I don't want to help them then.

I'm guildless atm mostly because of this. Lazy newbies demanding frost/help with easy quests. Rude officiers/leaders. Members that don't even answer each other. lol.
Guildie asks for help with x boss. I offers heal if anyone is up for tanking/DD'ing it. No reply. Wait a while and ask again. No reply. Directly after ask if anyone wants free packs/gold/fc heads/whatever. Everyone reply. b:bye

I would leave. b:surrender After talking to her, offering to search for an active guild together. If she's making no attempts to revive the faction there's no use in staying if you can't get stuff done. Farming TT gear can be quite the hassle with random squads, I find it easier with guildies/friends. Asking WC isn't always successful either, at least not on LC. If you have nice people on your friendlist it's easier, but still I like a nice/active faction if you can find one. ^^

Tell her that it really is important to be in an active guild. You need the exchange of game information as well as the varied set squads to help you learn and evolve as a player & help others to do same.

If that does not work, knock her out, drag her to another guild and give her some prozac for her depression.

oh no no no no. sorry if i came off wrong. what i ment in my post was how EVERY time one could ask for help it nearly every time they ignore you. even when you yourself help THEM on several occasions be it in the form of helping an alt or giving stuff. no way in hell i would expect anyone to bend over backwards and wait on me hand and foot. it's the fact that they ALWAYS seem to be busy every single time over the course of a long period of time, statistically that just seems......unlikely.
