wizard ultis are useless

the lvl 59 skills for wizards seem useless, they take forever to channel and cost 2 sparks. I don't think I will bother doing the culti to get those skills.

i dont waste that 2 sparks on skill, i use 'Zooming Thunder Powder' sometimes, makes player using skills without channeling for the next 5 seconds. many people dont use it.. i played a private server and i saw most of wiz using that pot alot in pvp. and we on pwi at least on harshlands server, i dont see wizards using that pot.. i started use it at some days ago. its awesome and we dont waste that 2 sparks.

I agree with the OP. I use almost exclusively hailstorm for aoe. Adroit said in a post it was epic, and he was right.

And I spam elemental shell in place of stone barrier. Thanks to Adolt for that recommendation as well.

Remember Blood, the first step in solving your problem (being ****) is admitting it. After that you can work on using hailstorm for the freeze and ele shell for chi. I know it's really difficult to hit the hotkey for ele shell every ~30 secs for free chi, but with enough practice even you might be able to pull it off

I do use elemental shell for the measley little chi it provides, and i even use it against psychics when i kite away from them.

I do use hailstorm for the freeze, although it procs next to never.

The difference is, in your attempt to troll me you all but took the position that hailstorm should be used in place of gush or stonerain, and that elemental shell was a substitute for domain - that they were ooooooo so very useful. Which they are not, in the grand scheme of things. Both of them are nice perks, sure. And shoudl be used at endgame.

But are either of them game changers? Even at endgame, for the most part, hell no.

Ah, so you are learning. At least you recognize now that they are perks (and even mention we should use them at end game!), you'd never have admitted that in the past. Although outwardly you pretend not to like my posts, I'm beginning to think you are just phrasing your questions in the form of insults to save face while I teach you how to play your wizard. I'd hope you wouldn't make things up/twist words as often, but I guess that'd be asking alot from you.

The only thing you have to say I ever said not to use them was in a guide intended for new wizards. and for those? yes, my advice it to not level those skills.

I believe the first interaction you and I even had is when you came on to troll me for saying that LA was viable from lvls 1-80/90 (you know, back when it still was viable, before 80k hypers, rank 8 and leveling to 100 in 3 days time). Or that one of the BMs that you were fighting kept making the mistake of continually attacking you from above so you could have the extra "kite" available of dropping and get the 50% damage reduction to boot. It couldn't be that the BM could have done better against you, right? No mistakes on his part, he played perfect. He just rank into your superior skill.

Our first argument was because you told new wizards to go LA for survivability. My point was that you don't need to go all the way to LA, putting some vit in is usually more than sufficient.. but we got into it and I ended up showing you that arcane vit build can have more survivability than an equivalent LA build. Drowning in your own tears you twisted everything you could so you didn't have to admit to yourself that you were wrong.. but that along with many of your other ridiculous comments has made you the laughingstock of the forum. Most people just ignore you because you are mentally challenged, but I enjoy laughing at you and seeing how your posts come out with you squirming in your chair and having steam billowing from your ears.

Again picking out a fraction of 1% of my videos and representing that as the entirety of them is very misleading.. and everyone knows that. I think most people that read these forums have already seen my videos and know there was a whole lot more to them than one shotting some random lowbie that was annoying me while I took on another threat. Did you expect me to cut out the 2 seconds where I switched targets and eliminated some pest and then get back to the fight? Please.

I guess my initial thought is I am not sure what to say. You've managed to make a vit mage have less magic attack than a LA wiz. That is the primary criticism of LA wizards and you made your vit mage even worse in that regard. Normally the rebuttal for a LA wiz is that they have higher crit rates to make up for some of the damage deficiency, but your build loses that argument as well.

I can admit to a certain extent that this version of a vit mage will survive at least as well as a LA mage, assuming you don't have to kill anything to stay alive.

Also, finding items with 2x +70 hp adds is not that common. Could be a difference between servers, but are you saying that I will find this gear (or similar) in your ah if I log onto LC now?

Because I just did. There wasn't one lvl 77 cape, let alone one with those stats, and the only *** cap had evasion +46 and endurance +50%. That's the reason I picked stuff like the tt80 armor and tauran cape. At least you know you CAN get them fairly easily. A build dependent on the add on "slot machine" that pwi uses to pick attributes for gear isn't exactly reliable.

Bascially, as I said before, I don't think they are horribly different, or that one is FAR better than the other. But even further weakening magic attack beyond what a LA mage suffers (without the added crit) seems to me to be trying to force a square peg in a round hole. For that reason, I wouldn't ever do vit mage when LA mage will get it done. The fact that your build is now dependent on raw luck in terms of add ons to gear? Well, that's just another reason I would choose LA over vit.

So much for "proving" anything to me. And I invite people, if they wish, to read the whole drawn out thread where you try to justify an AA wiz with less magic attack than a LA wiz. I rest my case, as I did then. Of course, the whole point is somewhat moot now - neither LA nor Vit is probably a good choice as fast as people level now.

I only post this because, once again, you claim to have done something you didn't.

So are you saying that in the vit build Adroit made, it had more than the 50 vit he always advocates? I am not surprised, but in all honestly, if true, no. I didn't notice. I really stopped looking critically at his monstrosity when his fantasy AA mage had less magic attack than my very obtainable LA build.

And as for LA being "never viable for wizards" - if you are saying not viable from level 90+, we agree.

If you are saying never viable regardless of level, you are just plain wrong. It was, in fact, more "viable" for the first year or two of pwi than AA was for levels 1-80 and arguably all the way to level 90. After level 90, the AA armor has enough vitality and pdef adds to make LA not worth the tradeoff in terms of magic attack. And who spends more than a week or two on levels 1-90 nowadays anyhow.
