OK, at this point I wanna set something clear. Don't blame frankie or any other GM/MOD from this game, just because it's not their fault. They are just following orders, its just their job and I trully believe that they would do anything to make this game a better one for the sake of the whole community if they could, but they have to pay bills just like you and me. The ones to blame are the higher tops of PWE like the COE and so on..
I'm just curious about what will happen to frankie and the others if this game finally shuts down forever, hope they get employed in another game of PWE. I wish you guys the best luck you can have

+1 to this.
Much of the community doesn't realize that Moderators are just volunteer workers and GM's are just customer support. Neither of them have anything to do with Developing or coding either the game or the websites.
Even the management in California have little to say in the development of the game. They can offer suggestions, but what we get is decided in China by the executives and game developers there. That's exactly why I started the thread "Let your voice be heard", so that we could go straight to the source of the problem.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I completely agree to this. Unfortunately people usually just blame and yell the first person they see that works for a company that they're unhappy with. In this case that are Frankie, the other GM's and the mods.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

i always laugh at how the threads that make the most sense often get ignored>_>. i agree with this.0

People are actually blaming the Mods/Gms for the state of affairs in the game? Do they realize that they only enforce and don't make the rules? b:puzzled
I only blame them (GMs) for not enforcing the rules and not having a presence in game.
I mean its gotten to a point where people laugh at those asking for GM assistance in World Chat
The most I've heard about recent GM activity was a GM's random act of kindness, and a few random sightings of them. I mean people are advertising goon fcs in world chat when it's clearly stated its bannable, so why not make an example? Go in and boot/temp ban them, when people were/are quest blocking & harassing lowbies in SP go in and make their presence known, show them that things like that aren't tolerated.
And somewhere on the forum someone said, something along the lines of "just because everyone does it doesn't make it any less illegal" So why not show people that it's "illegal"?I A lot of people0 -
Totally agree with the OP here.
And to be honest; as opinion of the non-gamer part of me, PWE is really doing a superb job with marketing strategies and the likes.

OP's signature is neat. PotF ftw. :>0 -
The thing is, most of the game's problems can't be blamed on the GMs, and certainly not on the mods. But they do have to own up to what is their fault.
This last week has been a prime example of that. Have we forgotten what frankie wrote in his post trying to soften the blow of a free-PK SP? It wasn't sincere, it wasn't honest, I'm pretty sure it wasn't even factual. Why couldn't he have just told us that the devs royally screwed up?
Was he tounge-tied? Was he bullied into doing it by his superiors, as per his job description? If he did this of his own accord, then yes, we DO have something to blame on him. If he was backed into a corner doing his job, well... that's more forgivable for HIM, but it speaks to the greater problem of the PWE higher-ups.
Either way, I think we're owed an apology. -_-
Not disagreeing with the OP here. I just think we're all too caught up in the rush of "yaaay SP is fixed!" to want to take a look at the facts right now. :-/[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Yes, I'm still a stubborn holdout in favor of the old game. Haters gonna hate. ;]

Aside from wishing that the GMs are around more often in game, I really have no complaint against them...it's just the developers.
There should be more GM events, and I also miss the random chat that the GMs used to do in world chat[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I only rarely see people blaming all the game's faults on the GM's/mods on the forums (happens all the time ingame, though).
Criticism on them is usually based on their personal actions, such as mods saying certain things or locking certain threads and GM's for not enforcing the rules (ahem, see signature) or holding back information (which wouldn't be entirely their fault, since they're usually not allowed to give it out, but they still get accused of it regularly).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
We can't blame MOD's ( who work for free ) and GM's for the dev's screwups, that's for sure.
But what about the GM's actual job? Are they not Game Managers? Should they not be the ingame "police"?
Should they not watch WC and imediatelly punish people who advertize goon squads?
Shoud they not pop up inside FCC and actually catch goon squads?
I'm sorry, but if that's their job ( and if I'm wrong feel free to correct me ) they are not actually doing it.0 -
While I agree that game changes are not made by GM's or Mods and are not their fault I still wont be getting all warm and fuzzy about GM's.
Im still trying to figure out what they get paid for. Need one, call one, face disappointment. They are never there and they dont do squat.0 -
I wholeheartedly agree. Moderators on the forums are volunteers and are only here to make sure things on the forums go smoothly. While I do believe there have done a few mistakes here and there, you can't blame them. They are humans. Things happen. They learn.
When it comes to GMs, I agree that they should be more active. We need more responses from Frankie. However, he is not to blame for everything either. He doesn't have control over the content. As much as he may talk to the developers in China, if they don't want to listen to him, they won't. I don't think we are ignored by Frankie here (I doubt he himself controls the sales, the higher officers do)...but rather...by the higher ups and the Chinese developers/executives/etc. instead. I can imagine they probably don't care about our version of the game all that much hence why it takes forever for any fixes to happen (remember how long the DQ problem took?).

we know that. but if you want to reach 'higher tops' with your QQ you must QQ to GMs.
btw cryers cryed their way, so we will lose PK arena soon (SP), so GMs really can do something when they really want. or should I say cryers really can do something when they QQ really loud..0 -

86% of those who responded to the poll on the thread about it ( and at 812 votes, its a decent sample size ) voted either neutral about it ( less then 7.5% ) opposed to it ( a shade under 6% ) or strongly opposed to it ( just under 72% )
thats not a few people crying, thats the community strongly opposing a change┌─┐

Primarily, they are the ones working on tickets. Unfortunately there aren't quite enough of them, and a very large flood of tickets. Particularly with recent changes, bugs, "hacking" reports, stuff like SP, game crashes, video driver incompatibility, the list goes on and on.
So, you've basically got, lets say, 10 people working on the tickets. Your playerbase is probably near 1 million, and lets assume that 0.06% are submitting tickets every week. 0.06% of 1 million is 6,000. so lets say you've got 10 GM's able to work 12-15 tickets an hour. We'll say 15, and state that they work 10-hour work days. In that 10 hours, they have an hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks. This allows 8.5 hours for them to work on tickets.
So we take 8.5 hours, multiply it by the rate of 15 tickets an hour and get 127.5 tickets a day from one GM. We'll round that to 125 just because stuff happens. Now 10 GM's working on 125 tickets a day produces 1,250 tickets a day. 5 days a week makes the team get through 6,250 tickets a week. Assuming that their sole purpose is to work on tickets.
When the game was newer and there were only a few hundred thousand playing, we saw GM's more. Now they're just over worked.
And I know you'll ask, "where do you get this?" and "how would you know?"
I've been a GM. I worked for 3DO back in the Meridian59 era. I've GM'ed for Empyriana, Everquest, and several beta tests of MMO's. Sure it's been 10 years or so since I was doing that work, but as far as I know the only thing that's really changed is management tightening the ropes on the abilities of a GM to properly do his/her job.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
wait till r9 drop to like 500gold and check like 50% of people that now plays PWI, quit it.0

Maybe you should be blaming the correct people for the loss of SP as a PK zone... the people that were ABUSING it. PWI probably would have left it alone if certain people didn't consider "please don't kill me!" and "I'm just here to do a quest!" battle cries. Think about that for a minute.
Then again, what do I know? I'm just a QQing carebear. b:cute
I honestly think a lot of people, including myself, would have refrained from posting about our hatred for the new SP if we had witnessed people in there looking for a fair fight and respecting others. That's definitely not that was seen. The rich trolls that can afford to buy everything except a pair of balls are to blame for SP being reverted.
As for the OT...
Pretty much every game has players that are under the impression that CMs, GMs, and forum mods have more power than they really do. The people that relay the information are usually the first target since people loooooove to shoot the messenger. I feel that most of the GMs suffer from a major case of selective blindness, but they still can't be blamed for most of the stuff people try to pin on them.
I feel a little bad for the forum mods that get dragged into all of this since I've kinda been in their shoes. It's not fun to be blamed for stuff that's totally out of your control simply because people don't understand that you're a normal person that was given a torch with +10 vs forum trolls. Been there. Done that. Still having the occasional flashback! b:lipcurl0 -

Mods aren't staff you guys are volunteers. And hasn't it been stated that PWE does in fact control sales? So then yes the people working for PWE are responsible not PWCN.0 -

Majority of people don't who to complain to, they just want to nerd rage and move on. Unfortunately GM/Mods are their targets even though they can't control it.
Though GMs need to make a presence in game and take care of the tards that obvious break ToS and harass the noobs that are actually starting the game.
On a further note, just wanted to throw my 2cents in. Have a nice day. b:byeBarbHammer - 95 - Retired

The only GMs in PWI are apparently forum GMs. You will never find one in the game unless they are afk. So the blame for any issue easily falls onto them because they are obviously absent.
If GMs don't want to be blamed then tell us who to blame. They can't tell us? Well then we'll keep blaming the GMs until we ragequit.
Im done posting on these stupid forums. This game has 6 maybe 12 months tops before it either shuts down or the numbers drop below 200 active players per server.0
