If the top two TW guilds on your sever are all r8 +10 min and mostly r9 +10 but your gear is r8 and only +5 except for a +10 weapon, then you quickly realize Demon Stone Barrier alone is reason enough to say **** going sage. Anything Sage can do for me I can do with with a stock pile of white tea.

well you could also see it from the other side if those people are all so well geared that only a crit can kill them (because they survive 1 ulti hit non crit) your chance to still 1 shot people is better when you have sage bids. Even if there is the crit bonus on demon masteries the crit proc on sage bids gives you a better chance to get people down with crit in mass pvp.

the use of apos is also no point because a sage wiz could also use them. Moreover especially in pve the mini debuffs on the attack skills are nice to have and also sage shrink rocks. As a demon wiz you are better suited for 1v1 pvp but as sage wiz you are there for big aoe blows and due to masteries the normal dmg of a sage wiz will be higher. You also should not underestimate the sage barriers in terms of pve because the additional resistances help a lot when you know the attack type of the mobs. For instance ice dmg mobs in OHT3 are hardly doing dmg with water barrier on. And even if demon stone barrier is fine normal pdef wont save you from attacks that come with endgame weapons and + att lvls

Sorry, but demon stone barrier doesn't all of a sudden mean you'll survive against r9 chars.. it's a slight edge over sage barrier. Besides, sage doesn't need to waste apoth cooldown on white tea, we are free to use defensive apoth.. and defensive apoth will help you survive FAR better than having demon stone barrier. *rolls eyes*

I'm pretty sure this guy is talking about doing something like this:
    spawn in base>await seal>chi pot>fly mount>frostblade a couple times>cloud erup>get back to a fight with full chi.

apoths already cooled down, genie mostly recharged. imo for chi in tw, sage only has the edge once your alreayd fighting. sage pyro, master li, etc. or if your enemy is in base master li is really nice once you die.

    just to share..

    I just went sageb:chuckle

What make me decide to go sage

    is probably

Sage stone barrier + sage spark has more defense then demon barrier.
Sage emberstorm doesnt tick my charm
Chi gaining skill is better than the chi losing skill since i pve most of the time.
    Sage BiDs is awesome,
Ulti have a chance to be 1 spark.. would be cool to be able to launch a few ulti with sutra.
Sage DB stuns.. I love it on my DB then my Emberstorm..

sutra>seal>glacial snare>bids GG glacial snare wont tick their charm and it debuffs a little extra for bids XD. gotten quite a few tougher targets down like that

nice to see two of the players who (ought to) know better, properly defending sage now that a demon trololol has appeared. my work here is done.

i love how the aforementioned demon trololol went the "lol chi, i just use white teas" route that i expressly forbade several pages ago because i've grown weary of shooting it down. thank you sir, for giving this thread your misguided foolishness against which we can unite our sagely forces.

also don't forget the (often 50% crit) gush at the end of that combo.

thing is with +10 r8 and 40atk lvls. i'll one hit tick ppls charm with glacial with undien up. and i wont quite do enough dmaage with undine gush to set up a good bypass.

and also ppl dont see that combo coming because you dont undine them. giving them a little less reaction time to AD or run away.

yeah, the lack of undine is what makes it unpredictable. lots of players will AD as soon as they see undine because they stand a decent chance of getting 1-hit. it's nice to queue up a gush at the end in case your blizzard blast crits and ticks hiero on the first hit though.

bb's debuff isn't ideal, but it's better than nothing (especially pre-ice dragon) and is less predictable than OMG I GOT UNDINED HIT AD. it's definitely a question of knowing thy target, though. for some targets, that combo is overkill; for others there are better ways of spending your 4 sparks.

You fight people that AD right when they're undined? lol. Thanks for killing your genie for a skill with a 1 second cooldown, I'll kite you then kill you when AD is down b:dirty b:flower b:heart b:heart

lawl, undine>gush>dragon will make ppl AD pretty fast. or they will AD soon as they see sutra. hell in open pvp now i dont even cancel my dragon when someone AD's i jsut aoe them to kill all the nab sins around XD.

either or it doesnt matter i'll kite and build chi back up then try for the kill shot again after an occult, or whatever genie skill i may see.

@Hardtothink its really funny when you undine then sleep and ppl AD.

i do fight people who do that, because the majority of them tend to end up dead if they don't. but yes, that's after they see sutra as well.

typically the only purpose it serves is giving their squadmates time to try to stun me if i'm not using a pk potion, otherwise yeah, it just delays their death by a few seconds.
