LVL Shmvel. Some people do not level their buffs. On the rare occasion I am with another cleric, I ask them what lvl their buffs are before buffing. Had a couple of times where someone a few lvls higher than me hadn't lvled one of their buffs to lvl 10 yet, so I did it instead.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I guess this falls under communication, but understand what your squad mates skills do, guess that doesnt apply to those who have alts of other classes That helps in how you react to different situations that arise in a squad. i.e. the cleric has a healing range, and cannot heal you if you decide to go all gung-ho on mobs on the other side of the instance.
Another one, if you are attacking a mob that has very few places in the map and don't spawn very often and someone else needs the mob too, squad with them so you aren't constantly stealing each others kills even if you would normally do it solo. It drives me bananas the rare times I run into such a quest, when there is only one spot the mob spawns and his spawn time is low, and the other person refuses to squad especially if the claim "KILL STEALER" afterwards. I the area is too crowded and there is no where else to go, just squad until one of you is done. It saves everyone time and grief.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I don't know what number you're at, but listen to instructions. In most cases they are given to keep you alive, or make things easier for the squad.
Examples:
"Wait here a second, I'll open the gate." Don't follow the person that says that, especially when they can go invisible and you can't.
"Stay back and hit from far away, these things explode." Don't run head first into the mobs. If 'these things explode' isn't a clear enough way to say it, could someone suggest something else for me in case it happens again?
"Follow the tank and keep up with him as best you can." This is huge, I've had too many squad wipes or almost squad wipes happen because people don't go where you tell them to.
Quick note for anyone thats reading this and may not know: Assassins can reset mobs and bosses with stealth. I haven't found something with a level that can't be reset yet. [?] bosses/mobs ignore it, but FB/BH bosses have a level.
It upsets me because I don't like to see anyone die in the squad I'm in, and when you're beside me even if I can't do anything to stop it and you didn't listen I feel responsible. Everybody makes mistakes, or doesn't understand instructions the way they were meant. But don't outright ignore the person telling you to do something in an unfamiliar instance. They are probably telling you for your own safety. I get to the point where I'm trying to yell at people to go before they die or get someone else killed.
If you are going to go afk when running from point A to B somewhere, a) let your squad know and b) put someone like the cleric on follow not the tank or lead DD. But I guess this goes right back to communication.
Don't start insulting someone because they chose a different celestial path than you feel is better. Especially when you are below level 70. Especially when you are a different class below level 70. Demon is not better than Sage there are two choices for a reason.
Try to avoid the dominance fight. I notice this especially with assassins, maybe because I'm involved. In general, let the higher level lead. Don't spend the whole time poking stuff trying to take aggro just to prove you're better. Even if you're a higher level, if you're full hybrid with 6k HP just stop. If you are the higher level, let the second of your class support you. Let them keep stuff debuffed for you, and help you do more damage. Squads are about teamwork, if you don't want to work as a team just GTFO and stop wasting people's time. Go solo it if you don't want anyone to help you.
And just to add onto the buff thing, if someone specifically says please don't buff over, I have level 11 "____" and then you catch yourself buffing...just say so! It is alot of people's habit to buff before bosses and stuff, especially if they are used to their buffs wearing off quickly. Its better to just say, even in a private message, "oops I buffed out of habit" instead of letting everyone run in there thinking they have something they don't.
This has been said before, but it can't be said enough: Communicate with your squad.0 -
No matter how many times you rant about it, get upset, make more and more threads, the truth is that the majority the people who play this game don't really care.
They'll moan and rant and want to make you kill them, but there's not much you can do. If you have one of those b:angry squads, and someone does/says something that's not polite, and you tell them, they're really not going to care. Chances are they'll get all pissy and whine and argue with you until your whole squad is all on edge.
The real main fact of the matter is, proper 'squad etiquette' is just common courtesy and manners.
Besides, you can't change people that don't want to change.0 -

A rule of etiquette that I would like to see players adopt on a more routine basis would be to "treat other players with respect and dignity". This would include respecting other peoples abilities to play their character. There always seems to be one person in every squad that feels the need to "bark" commands at people. If you have a suggestion to make, by all means do so, but it is possible to do so in a respectful manner to which people will be more receptive. Most people will appreciate some input that will help them play their character more effectively, but no one likes to be "ordered" around (unless perhaps they have a masochistic bent to them). Disclaimer: I am referring here to everyday questing squads and not about TW squads where leadership plays a critical role in coordinating the squad's activities.
This comes from having come across toooooo many barbs on an ego trip who thing they are in command of a squad. If barbs learned that it is more effective to tell people WHAT they are planning to do rather than attempting to bark commands while keeping the squad in the dark about their intended actions, there would be a lot fewer squad wipes and a more enjoyable gaming experience for everyone. When people are informed about what is going on, they are empowered to best respond to the situation with the strengths of their individualized characters.
Another rule to squad work would be (surprise surprise) for barbs as well. Not sure if any barbs out there have noticed yet but they run faster than clerics >.> (even with using holy path, barbs routinely run ahead of clerics). Thus, it would be nice if barbs would either wait for clerics to catch up before aggro'ing everything, or simply gather the mob(s) and return to the cleric's/squad's location for support. If babrs are not willing to wait for, or return to the cleric, then no QQ'ing about dying, using pots, or having their charms tick. /end rant lol0 -

Heck Yeah! I get tired of people screaming at me "HEAL!! NOW!! IH!!!" When I'm way behind them because they've decided to run in and Leroy Jenkins a room and then expect me to be right next to them. I got rid of my AOE grinding genie skill nullify poison and replaced it with holy path because (both my genie was unlucky) and I began to realize that the higher lvl I got there more people felt like all they cared about was doing it faster and running ahead of me. But then they still felt the need to QQ if I couldn't keep up because I play the slowest class in the game. Sometimes I would run into good DDs who would realize this and speed buff me whenever they saw this happen, but for the most part I would get yelled at because their charm ticked when I was trying to catch up. This still hasn't been totally solved because of what you just described but still rather annoying. And for that matter don't run so far ahead and lure all those mobs while I'm around the corner and can't see what you're doing and then just hit one of them with no aoe. When you're that low health, are fighting and in the a still area, and have run so far ahead that I couldn't see what you did, I'm going to assume you know what you're doing and heal. Don't make me regret it. /rant[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

~I'm never charmed anyway (way to cheap) but~ please don't make the tank charm tank the whole thing A few ticks is expected, more than a few is even understandable, but if you don't plan on healing at all, please let the tank know ahead of time so they can pot/self-heal when needed. Like wise as said above, the cleric is not responsible if you tick and they're healing
Also- if someone else in squad is a better tank, let them tank. Someone already said this, but don't get all up in a huff and try to prove how macho you are by pissing off the healers with aggro tag.
Oh, also I have a name you can call me. If there's more than one of a certain class in squad don't say "bm do this". Even there's only one, it's kinda not nice unless they have a name [_______this________] long

Amen to that, I've been kicked from squads for saying I have a name...0 -
If your going to a BH and you only need 1 boss, say that beforehand. Don't go kill the one boss you need and just disappear, or make some lame excuse. Same goes with killing X number of mobs, if your almost finished don't invite someone or at least say something. I think it's rude (and selfish) to leave a squad if everyone isn't finished.
As for the brambling of squishy's, I brambled a cleric once and they told me I shouldn't do that because it makes them get more hate. I never questioned it, they know their job better then I do. When I asked someone nicely not to bramble me (as a cleric, following what was told to me), it was an argument. If someone asks you not to do something to them, you should respect that. Not have an argument over how your right and they are wrong.0 -
Dunno if that was mentioned before:
You are in a squad. Everyone has his job in there. Giving hints and tipps to other players is allowed, though DO NOT tell them how to play their class. Got every class to a high level? You are the master of playing this game? Fine. You annoy people when you act like you are better then others and will (at least in my squads) have a high chance to get booted from the squad. (Especially when I see magic DDs telling barbs how to tank, or melee ppl who tell cleric how to heal >_>)Feel free to PM me for help.

If squaded with KOS and your leader, remember to boot them out before BH boss is dead or NV/ 3-3 unless their the best DD in squad.
Repeat Justin Bieber's baby song in squadchat and make sure everyone else remembers it.
If charm ticks, let the cleric know how much they suck for letting your charm tick.
Only squad with 4.0 or faster DD's in squad unless their a cleric or 9jun.
Thank everyone for squading up after finishing up.0 -

Don't forget this one:
If you are on a PvP server, it's poor form to PK your squad's cleric while you're all waiting for the timer to expire if you ever want him/her to heal your squad again. Especially if you're resetting to do the final BH boss... Even if they are KOS...

what exactly bramble does to aggro is one of those neverending debates. much like the debates over duke's refining rumors, i personally think it's a groundless one (bramble doesn't do jack to aggro unless you get hit by a melee attack that reflects) but that doesn't stop people from thinking otherwise --- so you're quite right, venos should ask before brambling anybody but melee fighters, or possibly anybody but melee tanks even. you never know what odd ideas they have about bramble guard.

To kind of piggy back on the name thing, don't freak out on people for referring to you by the gender your character is (especially if they dont know you).
If you're a guy playing a veno, thats cool. But don't scream at someone for using 'she' or 'her'.
It makes sense to refer to someone by the name of their character, and by the gender of their character. We can't see who is on the other side of the computer screen.
So don't flip out on someone because you chose to play a female character and not tell anyone.0 -

It's poor form to PK anyone in your BH squad unless they do something incredibly stupid. I'd like to say that in some cases such things are justified. I'm in my 70s on my sin and every now and then I get into an argument with barbs that using flesh ream holds aggro better than normal attacks in human form. What's even worse is when I need to explain to clerics that purehearted blessing is not good enough. Both cases are, thankfully, rare but they have happened to me and I'm only one person out of many who play this game.
Barring such instances of obvious fails, I agree with you.LeiMai - Raging Tide wrote: »To kind of piggy back on the name thing, don't freak out on people for referring to you by the gender your character is (especially if they dont know you).

Yeah.......... never call female characters male unless they state so. I got at least 3 ''female" players angry at me because of that
Heres an example
Me: Every one here is a guy
Veno: I'm a woman dam it!
Me: You sure?
Veno: Yes
Me: You sure don't talk like one.
Veno: Get on vent
Me: Voice changer.....

Me: Thats a pretty girl but how do i know it's you?
Veno: curses at me and black list
It usually ends there. I have yet gotten anyone angry enough to prove they are who they claim to be with a web cam0 -

You're mostly right, bramble guard dont' do jack unless you're hit with a melee attack. But there ARE some bosses whose aoe is physical (like General Feng in tier 2 of TT). Even though a AOE is technically a ranged attack (on all), i found out helping a 90+ veno friend of mine do that run (2-3 i think it was) that bramble guard WILL reflect his AOE. um no, drummer's aoe is magical. My veno friend and i even talked about that b4 i got protect, adn she had NEVER seen drummer reflect on a Aoe. Drummer's aoe is definitely magical as is his main attack, cause even with strong i couldnt' take him tilll i got protect. And magic doesn't reflect.
Idk about soulbanisher, all i know is his aoe hurts worse then drummers.... b:scared0 -
incorrect, drummer and soulbanisher aoe is physical, along with other bosses like emperor belial etc
not magical at all except his direct lightning spells which is not aoe0 -
Drummer's aoe hits me like a kitten where as his inital magic attack can hit me like a truck if I'm not careful. I think it's physical
Another thing, if someone dc's don't rage on them. Sometimes storms and stuff get in the way.
