I mean do they exist? I like doing a Light armor BM primary for the elemental defense, but i don't see anyone trying anything new, everone does the same thing, anyways give a shout out if your different. Maybe i'm the only one.

    they do exists but they arent too popular, specialy after the rep sale. LA is the worst armor in the game because, well everything hits u like a truck. now after rep sale everyone has rank 8/9 and this doesnt make too much of an impact on BMs (sucks for BMs and total waste of money, believe me QQ), its extremly good for every other class. archers and sins get a -0.1 interval top and really nice weapons. mage DDs get - channaling top and their weapons can hit any LA or HA class for a lot, if its not a one shot its almost certainly a charm tick...

    so my take on LA.... dont do it. it used to be ok-ish (never really was a fan of LA armor) but now that mages can one shot any LA or HA ckasses, its better to go HA since u still do have to worry about sins and barbs, not to mention other BMs. so might as well not be completly squishy go HA and have a good pdef against non mage classes is what i suggest.


    p.s if anything try it out and see for yourself, although make sure u have enough money to buy a reset note b:laugh

    OdessaWolf is a LA Fist-only BM.

    Not quite sure if it's worth it strictly for elemental defense. You can always keep a set of LA gear on hand and switch as needed, after all. o.o

    Spear might be good combo with LA, the range of spear can cause some monsters to go into spellcasting mode.

    Extra crit since spark doesn't get any extra bonus from str. Possibly more vit, but under that condition, str would likely be close to HA anyway.

    There's a set bonus that adds interval using 2 pieces of the ashura LA set.

    I would say, in general BMs should go full HA, using elemental ornaments (neck + belt).

    You mdef is decent, and if not you can just refine the ornamets for more. Pdef is good enough when you just wear the full HA set, if you think you need more, refine the rings instead.

    About LA, you might get LA, but not more then 2 pieces. EG if you get the Asura LA bracers, exchange one of your elemental ornaments with a physical one. In that way your pdef loss should be minimized. If you get another piece of LA, just get another physical ornament.

    I am currently using a mix of LA and HA, and it works out nice for me. As endgame I will also aim to get LA bracers and Boots for the bonus.

    LA is ****, never go full LA. You have marrows for a reason... to balance the HA p def bonus with m def. If you have no p def, then mage marrow your p def is then too low...

    The only time you should ever get 2 LA pieces is if you're sage or can't afford tome for 5.0. That's about it; you lose too much phys def per mage def gain.

    Yes. I had to use half LA because back then as it was the only way to reach decent aps. Full LA has always kinda sucked though.

    Now, getting LA boots + wrists and HA chest + belt is a perfectly ok combo for farming but... I'd hate to lose that p. def in PK, especially if you can afford the tome later on.

    The only time I use LA for 4aps is for PVE at celestial tiger event, otherwise I don't see where it's useful in pvp because lack of survivability or tanking bosses where you're 5aps perma sparked anyways.

    It really depends what you're going for. If you value unsparked damage over survivability it's up to you. For me, I don't spark in PvP and I need more survivability and mostly use axes so 4aps unsparked is not important for me.

    But if you do decide you want 4aps unsparked then 2 LA is required for it as a BM.

    i only spark if its a 1vs1 because most of the time they will die before they get a chance to hit. now i allso see what you are saying but i need the LA piece anyway cause i cant afford tome(rather i dont want to buy tome seeing as its 300m). but endgame wise im looking for nirvana top and bottom and HA wrist/boots and mdef cube necky/warsong belt then again not sure about belt mite save up and get g15 cube neck.(i should have tome if i have nirvana top)

    He is talking about full LA. Full la is just terrible. A lot of people actually wear split for moar aps.

    Sorry your BM is a fail. If you are full LA and fists only, I don't even need to see you in game to tell you that. Limited AoEs and gets one shot by phy and magic? You might as well roll a Sin.

    There are certain things each class is able to do that contributes to squad work. Venos amp, clerics purify, etc. If you neglect these things simply because you "want to play your own way" then yes, you fail. It isn't ignorance to expect someone to be able to meet simple standards.

I could play my cleric with axes and no armor if I wanted, but that doesn't mean it would be a good idea, or something that should be recommended to someone looking to start a cleric... :P

    Odessa, you used a archer/sin build copy because you had an archer. You used hand me downs from it. Please stop being so defensive. Run the numbers because the game is based on math. We don't agree with your build because we have looked at the numbers. This is not ignorance on our part, this is just preferance to have better damage and higher defense even if it means having a build similar to others.

    Stop being so defensive and rude to people. State facts. Unless you already have about 600 strength (no one does) then pumping dex for crit rate is not as effective. Strength adds 1/150 a base damage multiplier per stat point. 20 dex points adds 1% crit. Obviously 20 strength towards a damage multiplier is more useful mathematically than 1% crit until that crit is multiplying some massive massive damage first that isn't achievable yet in game.

    As for LA vs HA. HA provides better hp from refines and much better pdef. LA provides better mdef, but it's disproportional effects make it less worth it. Even many sins have tried going HA for the armor benefits and this was at the sacrifice of dexterity in a class that gets their damage from dex.

    Yes i am allowed to play however i like, and i am also allowed to choose w/e path i take. The continuious "fail" remarks does not / will not prevent me from enjoying my build. Im not here to please you guys with my build.

    I am a dex-vit "pure axe" BM. I have HF and fists but without any -interval. My build was good before 80, decent at 80-90 and bad at 90-95 and up. I love being what I am but I also understand that I am completely useless in PvE at my level.

    I wouldn't call them ignorant, just "not very nice to fellow players".
