    Your friend has 100 apples. You toss a football into the apple pile and send 16 apples rolling up the hill meaning your friend now has 84/100 apples. It takes 30 seconds for the apples to roll back down the hill, but when they do they'll be all mushed up and bad. After 30 seconds your friend will still have 84/100 apples instead of 100/100 apples because the 16 apples got all mushed up and are bad.

    Does that make sense?

    No, you didn't get it the last time. The apples are all mushed up and bad permanently, not temporarily, which is why the football is amazing. It also doesn't use chi and hits more than one apple at the time!

    Love, it's a pretty big difference between "end" and "beginning". Your original post was as far from the truth as it could have possibly been, especially since you kept insisting the effect is only temporary and useless. Taking 16% hp off on a "?" boss with 5 mil hp instantly is anything but.

    If it was a lapsus calami, great. If not, you learned something new. In either case, you got so defensive and started flinging childish insults my way it gave me great amusement to troll your **** off. <3

    You don't get it. When STA debuff ends, the HP is not healed/regenerated back from 84% to 100%. Just look at HP bar of that mob, when STA is off, the hp actually falls down (talking in relative numbers, percentage, fraction), because current hp is not changed. Your first post wondering about useless STA is wrong. The rest insulting and ranting, ... well.

    um... the MAX HP does go back up, the CURRENT doesn't. and which is WHY i said it's pointless unless u use it at the beginning. Yes i did f'ing get it, and already KNEW it, and SAID THE SAME GOD DAMN THING in his first post where he quoted that (like i said replace END with beginning cause my brain was thinking one word and wrote the other.... heh). good f'ing god..... ARE YOU ALL MORONS that can't READ?

    Appart from the obvious use of sharptooth initially on bosses (16% less hp to DD through is a godsend on worldbosses even with 5aps players beating on them).

    There is the 2nd and less used point of STA, this is percentage hp, most bosses in the later TT's (you will find this when you get there) have specific abilities triggered by their hp percentage, such as illusion lord armageddons mana drain, by using STA on the boss repeatedly (every 25 seconds so the debuff never wears off) you decrease the hp the boss has when it reaches this threashold this meaning you have to endure the bosses hp triggered abilities for less time before it is dead.

    10mill hp boss with 16% ST leaves 8.4mill hp assuming the boss does its ability at half hp normally this will be 5mill hp but if you keep STA on the whole time the ability doesnt start till 4.2 million hp reducing the amount of time you endure the ability by a whole 16%.

    Also STA is used on belial to spawn the mobs without having to DD on the boss (as 80-90% is the hp range for the mob spawns).

    For PVE knowing your class is half the battle, knowing the bosses completely is the other half, actually the same can be said for pvp except there is alot more variation there (although some people are basically predicitable using the same tactics over and over expecting different results)

    LOL!!!! Mal..... and wow 60 and couldn't handle the MOBS? or the boss? I haven't tried 29 on my 70 sin, but i know my 70 archer needed a healer on the boss... or a few pots... and ya i know i coulda sparked and w/e and barraged... but i didn't lol

    O i got one for ya..... I'm tanking a wined FB 59. just me & a lower veno and..... then a BM who was like 74 joins as we're bout to go in. The tabber was a cleric so that was good.

    EVERY BOSS...
    BM: i dont' wanna tank.
    Me: then let me hit it for a bit, or take your weapons off if u dont' wanna just stand there

    What's he do? EVERY boss.... bam bam bam bam bam bam right at the start. guess who's tanking. and the cleric can't heal that well or something, he died a few times. I could only pull hate off him for like 2 SECONDS with roar once he really got hate and started tanking. FINALLY at the last boss i'm like.... ok.. BM you're tanking. cleric, don't do ANYTHING but spam heal him. Worked fine... heh

    Then it simply doesn't make sense. Shaving off 16% (20% in case of SSD on a sage veno) is AMAZING. There's more to PvE than FCC and fb bosses with 100k hp. Warsong, TT, Rebirth, World Bosses say hai. A maxed out ST is not only welcomed, it is EXPECTED for all of those. Even in FCC, I ST all the bosses before the xp room unless someone in the squad hypers them (which is very rare).

    On top of having that super amazing effect of reducing hp, STA is also an AoE that doesn't take chi. Only other one being thunderous blast (and wingspan, but it is highly circumstantial because of the knockback effect). Helpful in FCC as well to clean up some of those stubborn magic mobs on early pulls.

    In gamma and delta, every good archer is going to ST the pull before getting barrage up. Mobs die faster, meaning less of a chance for **** up and less repair.

    In warsong, taking 16% hp off on a boss whose aoe gets stronger as time goes by is beyond helpful.
    Same goes for other "?" bosses where damage is reduced by 75%, be it TT or a WB you're trying to kill for some drops. Makes it go helluva lot faster.

    Now feel free to insist we're saying the same thing and call me a moron again, but we're not. You're saying ST is fail and not worth leveling. I'm saying ST is amazing and should be a priority for any archer that wants to get into PvE squads.

    I usually know what to do in the most scenarios. But there are days where i just.. uhm fail and this very bad. Then i think back and tell myself "Kreuz, what the heck u were thinking" which usually results in a hard headdesk.

    In some random squad i totally emberass myself when i have these fail moments.

    What i want to say is... as a excuse of failing sometimes.. it is just plain stupidity from my side. b:victory

    This is me if I get with a boring/quiet/lame squad, i end up watching TV or talking on the phone. Usually nothing major, I'll mario cart off the edge of SoT or not watch Boobzila (my herc) go tralalaing after a mob.

    I just hate the brb's and their definition of "right" is conveinently back, right when we get to the boss.

    The seal thing started only this year. Last year I used to nova mobs and they never kited. This also simultaneously happened to my pet too where it would kite in bh39 when sealed from the dodo-looking birds.

    The reason the mobs pull has nothing to do with the veno per se. It's the heal. If any mob that is technically "grouped" with another mob, which essentially all instanced mobs are, is standing next to another mob, if they are in any fashion aggro'd to something, as soon as the cleric heals, all the mobs in a small radius around it will aggro too, of course, to the cleric, since heals generate aggro and none of those mobs were hit. A typical example that happens in a BH79 -- puller Earthflames Linus or Brigand, they run, boss has not made it down the platform yet, still near mobs, cleric heals, both bosses and the three fungal beasts or w/e they're called on that platform aggro too.

    Veno's who have a better understanding of the game should know this by now because if they ever did TT 2-2 and 2-3 (which is way before Warsong Metal BH) always knew NEVER to pull a Wurlord while in BB or near it, because if one Wurlord is standing next to another when the heal ticks from BB, they all come. I expect any 100 veno to know this by the time they are this level. Otherwise, they spent too much time leveling and not enough time learning their class.

    The most common thing I hear is "it lagged". It doesn't necessarily mean the person can't play their class though. There is a lot of random lag in the game.
    About sharpened tooth arrow: it is great to use on any boss that you want to kill fast and you aren't worried about the exp from killing the boss. Archers have what, four aoes? They can't use barrage without 2 sparks, and they don't usually use the one that pushes mobs back when they're in a squad. That leaves the ST and thunderous blast (a metal attack). So on metal mobs (frost anyone?) ST is really the most effective attack on large groups. And (as far as I know) it doesn't reduce exp if they mobs already have had 16% of the hp already taken.
