I'm sry but a game that doesn't attract it's players is dead ... actually , like NightRage & many others said , it's been dead for a while now . Playing for friends means that once those friends are gone you're gone with them .
If you're saying that you're playing only for friends and not for the game you're basically agreeing that the game is dead as well . It's supposed to give people at least some motivation to play even w/o any friends but it doesn't .
And the only people that say that the game is still enjoyable for them and don't bring the " I play for friends" thing are people who don't even have 1 lvl 100 character or have only played it for a short time .
And ofc some might actually enjoy doing the same instance 500+ times just because they like to do it ( no comment ) , I don't think there are that many of those b:surrender
game is not dead yet but its dying since packs came out (IMO). indeed most of loyal players stayed only cause of the community. its so far the best community i have ever seen. i feel sorry for PWI staff which wont realise that even with events etc they cant get new playerbase. most likely many create an alt just to play with their friends. this game offered before many fair goals. something not everyone has- now i cant name one which actually considereds "hard work", but i can name many (only) affordable with cash and coins.retired 11/11/2009 cause of packs. came back 8 months later just to realise it got worse. retired second time 10/11/2010.0 -

Second, although I do have the Game is Dead sig, it merely states that I believe in one interpretation of said phrase. For me, I don't believe that the game is dead as in not a single person playing it. I just believe that the game has lost its appeal to me. Others will have other definitions, but I won't judge them because I am not them. Do YOU know what the exact definition of a dead game is?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

A "dead" game can mean all sorts of things aside from population wise. Wanna use your imagination for a bit?b:chuckle
"Dead" game as in, its turned into nothing but a chatroom for a lot of people or now people pretty much have no reason to run instances when they can cash shop for their gear.
But hey now that I think about it, it could be called a dressup game now. b:laugh All you need to do is save a few bucks irl and BAM you beat perfect world already.b:victory

I haven't seen a completely dead mmo by "your" standards yet. Dead game = a game with no new playerbase, filled with people just chatting. PWI is just people poking a dead horse atm, sooner or later they will leave and let it decay.0 -

just a few months ago we added 10 new players to the guild. at the time of the addition those new players ranged from 2x-3x.
presently those same players are lvl 8x-9x and one of them is lvl 100. all but 2 of them are still very active. the 2 that are not active are not active cuz of school related reasons.
so by your OWN definition the game still is not dead. oh and that was for my guild alone. we are still inviting new active players to this day.0 -

it suppose to draw their attention that certain players are unhappy with some changes. its not like other players have to agree to it.

PvP is a big aspect of pretty much all games. Maybe you don't care about the game because you are fine with poking computer mobs all day. But for the others who care about pvp (large aspect of game again) we want our voices heard.0 -

Thats the funny thing about this game. Even new players can be high levels. Halo thar oracles and hyper stones.
People are going on about how they see so many people online and having fun. If your thinking was going along the lines of by "the game is dead" meaning half of the population is leaving the server as we speak then LMFREAKINGFAO. Today's word is "Gradual" people, sound it out if you have to.
Will the expansion bring a lot of people back? Well of course, but how long will it be until PWE stacks another **** up on top of this one? Judging by their track record...not long.b:chuckle0 -
