The old font disappeared on items because they used plain white text. Plain white or plain black is fine if you have a consistent background color which contrasts with it. When they overlaid the numbers on the item graphics, the white blended in with any light-colored parts and you couldn't read it. It's just more legible now because the font is bigger.

The correct fix for stack numbers is to outline the font in a contrasting color. If the font is white, it should have a black outline around it. This is how subtitles on movies are done. That way if the background is black, the white lettering is visible. If the background is white, the black outline makes the white lettering visible.

I understand a lot of people's complaints, and no, I wasn't trying to troll. I just was starting to feel like some kind of outcast freak because I actually like the patch, and I was wondering if I was the only one.

There are a lot of nice things mixed in with the patch. Unfortunately the font thing is the most visible and most annoying. I still don't understand why they don't just let us select our own fonts and sizes for the UI. They had the same problem with the key bindings, and finally let us remap them after about a year of complaining. Same with the blacklist and bad word filter - those really should be done on the client and editable by the user (with no limit to the blacklist size since its your own PC which will do the filtering).

BTW, the chat window font size can be changed. Open up the system settings (hit 'u'), click on Game. There's a slider there for font size, and a checkbox to make it bold. It doesn't have quite as much range as I'd like, but it does let you reduce the chat window font to a less obnoxious size.

I really do like the new patch, I just have a few problems with it. Since the new patch has been launched I have major problems logging in. hen I eventually log in there are no NPCs or players around, I'm all alone in the game, there aren't even any mobs to fight. It is really getting me a bit irritated, I really don't have much time to play PWI and when I have time I can't play coz it is screwed up. This is the first weekend I really have time to play but I can't log in. Please could someone tell me if they have the same problem as me.b:angry

Are you kidding? I've seen a dozen pages of people complaining about a typo, with an additional dozen pages of people complaining about people complaining about a typo.

I dare say, if PWI suddenly became everyone's idea of the perfect game, we'd probably get at least a half dozen pages of people complaining that there isn't anything to complain about.

There may well be a lot of people complaining. It may well be a majority of players that don't like it. But yes, in the overall scheme of things, it IS minor.

I agree. I think the changes are a general improvement. Some things need to be fixed, like the genie window over-lap. I'm sure we'll see that and other issues resolved in a short amount of time.

I did see 1 wraith attack today announced, but only 1, has there been more than 1 in like a 24 hr period though?



I suggest an option to block Bidding Hall messages. I understand other system messages CAN be important, but this is just getting in the way.
I've been in Archosaur since it started and I haven't seen any wraith attacks announced ever. What's with that?
