    Hell, people choose to be satanic, devil worshipers all the time. There are a lot of choices that are hazardous but people make them constantly.

    I don't know what 5-year-old is sexually attracted to either side of things. If you hear a five year old boy say he wants it in the butt likeliness is he heard it on TV. Most people have awkward teenage years in which they think they might be **** and then they grow out of it. The ones that stayed that way were usually the ones that were traumatized at a young age.

    Point is, there is a point in time where you aren't instinctively attracted to either side.

    That doesn't answer the question at all. If you never made it a choice, why do you assume **** people did? If you did make a choice, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been such a flippant moment that you don't remember it now. And you probably didn't make it before hitting puberty, so you can leave the 5 year old examples out of it.

    You can make a choice to engage in physical activity, you can't really control whether it's something you truly enjoy or not; I don't think many middle schoolers would know there's a difference.
    I also think using middle schoolers as an example is about as bad as using five year olds; that's one of the craziest times during adolescence and I do remember a fair share of people that expressed interest in the same sex to seem cool or edgy or rebellious.

    Again what planet do you live on? Seriously. People choose to be soldiers when they know that can damn well get them killed but does that stop them? No, not really. Probably has a higher chance of killing them than being ****.

Just like I can't force myself to be attracted to someone, which is essentially the position you'd put yourself in if you made a choice to be **** or straight.

    the bolded part is the reason i do not think tastes in music constitute a choice. i could not consciously choose to start liking rap music, even if there somehow was some advantage in it for me --- no more than i could choose to like country music.

    I suppose you could still choose whether or not to listen to Lady Gaga, or whether or not to have sex with/be in a relationship with someone of the same sex. You just don't have much say in whether or not it's something you'd want to do.

    i see this interminable thread has kept on rolling, however as this has drifted off topic (onto the nature of what sexuality is) perhaps it's time to drop it.. a gaming forum is hardly the right place and time. or return to the original topic and rinse and repeat your pointless requests.
